    Definitely trying this with mine, I have one that's about 10 leaves big and I want to make sure that variegation won't disappears.

    Very useful information

    Is it possible for leaves with complete variation on one side to last as long as regular leaves? Like strawberry cream syngonium with all pink on the top portion of the leaf and green on the bottom portion.

    how much do you consider "tons" of light??? I don't have much natural light coming into my window so I have grow lights everywhere. My plant still wants to revert, I can't tell how much light she needs 😢

      What does the stem look like? Can you see some variegation in it? You’re gonna want to cut back down until there is a node with marbling or variegation in it. Even with lots of grow lights, I have plants revert, but then come back in full variegation if they have it in their stems! If it’s a full green stem, usually will create a full green plant

    I have a variegated Philodendron Billy . Does pounding it with light apply to this plant as well so it doesn’t pump out green leaves or should I do something else.

      @prettyingreen  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I think high light is always a great idea for variegated plants. And keep an eye for nodes to make any strategic cuts if the green leaves come out

    I don’t why but kinda like flecked on this plant more over full or half variegation.

    I’m about to get this plant but concern about brown spot and tips like yours. What cause it and how to prevent it?

    • @prettyingreen
      @prettyingreen  Před 2 lety

      It's common for any albino parts of a leaf to brown away because they lack chlorophyll. It takes a long time for them to brown off though, so I wouldn't make it deter you from such a beautiful plant!!

    Hello! Have you released the video on propagating your standleyana?

      We haven't done one exactly for the standleyana, but it will be identical to our Moss Prop for the Monstera Deliciosa we just released! czcams.com/video/b_oMytd26AY/video.html

    I have a question i cant find the answer to anywhere. I have a variegated elephant ear. It now has 3 leafs but only 2 are variegated, one has white marbling and the other a white patch and the 3rd is completely green that . Should i cut the non variegated leaf back, as i only want variegated leafs as i have around 13 different elephant ear plants but only one variegated.

    • @prettyingreen
      @prettyingreen  Před rokem

      Alocasias are tough with this.. it all depends on the top stem. If it contains lots of marbling, you’re good to go. If it has lots of green, you’ll likely see more green leaves coming. I would leave the leaf alone and not cut it since it is providing more photosynthetic area for light!

    I have one of these and the leaves are curling I've had it for about 3 weeks and I only water when my meter reads dry. do they prefer a consistency moist soil ?
