    Thank you so much for another GREAT video! I'm especially grateful for the tip that you gave about pulling the cuff of the gown slightly over the hand to facilitate putting the glove on. That advice really makes donning the gloves so much easier! Your videos really are top notch and honestly the very best that I've seen. Thank you so much for taking the time to make them & thank you so much for your willingness to share your knowledge with countless others!

    I only had 5 mins remaining for this skill and my glove ripped but I kept going. I followed all the steps after this though. also I accidentally put the gloves in the trash can instead of the designated container but I put the gown in the designated container. is this a failing point as well as the ripped glove? I was in a rush but only the very bottom part of the glove ripped my fingers were not exposed

    • @NURSEJAR

      Hi, Amel! You need to determine your glove size during training before you test. If you have already completed training, you may just have to take an educated guess, or purchase latex gloves in different sizes to try. You can usually find them in dollar stores for a lesser price.

      Hi, Rikki! It all depends on what equipment is at your test site. If their is a biohazard waste bin, then I'd suggest you to dispose of the isolation gown and gloves in that bin. If the site does not have a biohazard waste bin, you should dispose of the isolation gown in the regular waste bin.

    Do I remove the PPE in the room or out of the room?

    • @NURSEJAR
      @NURSEJAR  Před 5 lety +3

      Hi, Matrix! In a real life situation, PPE is put on before entering the patient's room and is removed and disposed of in a biohazard bin before exiting the room.
      For testing, the donning, removal and disposal of PPE is done in the testing area.

    • @NURSEJAR
      @NURSEJAR  Před 5 lety

      In hindsight, these videos are training videos for nurse aide students. Students have to follow the steps outlined in the skill. However, in real life, you NEVER double-glove for infection control. You actually put yourself at a higher risk for becoming contaminated. Hope I was able to answer your question.

      @NURSEJAR  Před 5 lety

      @@gigimarie5325 Hi, Gigi! Thanks for your comment and question. In a real life situation, donning 2 pairs of gloves puts you at a higher risk of becoming contaminated due to the fact that you would now have to remove 2 sets of gloves instead of only 1 pair without contaminating yourself.
