  • This video features a collection of Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and Queensland Police Service (QPS) vehicles responding to a variety of incidents in SEQ this year.
Most of these videos have already been uploaded to this channel at some point, but I figured I'd upload them all in one heap so it's easier to find the non-dominant video uploads, being QAS and QPS vehicles.

thanks for watching mate, sorry for the late reply. i'll be posting a couple of 2022 compilations at the end of this year and i'll work towards more dedicated compilations to specific appliances (such as rescues only which you suggested) when i have some free time to edit. it'll be posted one day, just not sure when. :)

Why do the ambulances have green lights on them?

To make sure they don’t get fined by going past traffic lights

Hey mate. May have been asked on the Discord, but I'd thought I'd ask here as there is an example to reference. The fleet / unit numbers you have for the QAS are longer than the ones on those vehicles. As I'm still relatively new and learning, could you please share with me the difference between the number on the vehicle compared to the longer number and how to obtain the longer number etc? Also in identifying whether CCP or HARU etc please. Thank you 😊

yes alright so within GWN, the QAS vehicles have a six digit number, in GQ area (non-GWN), they are the four digits displayed on the vehicle.
So lets say you saw a sprinter and it said 6501. Assuming it was in GWN, an extra two digits are added in between the initial first & second digit, so it would be 6xx501. 'xx' stands for the following:
      01 - sprinter
02 - meatwagon (double pt sprinter)
      03/04 - 4WD
      05/06 - CCP, HARU
      07 - SOS
      08 - LARU
      09 - not 100% sure
not sure why those six digit callsigns only operate within GWN coverage area (everywhere south of gympie, east of kingaroy/toowoomba and all the way to the border).
from my personal experience, it's easy for me to be able to identify a HARU v CCP in south-east region at least because the HARU callsigns are 606853 & 606573, and that's the two of them. any other '06' vehicle is a CCP. people w/ mso let us know if a QAS pod vehicle are 06/07 (CCP/(S)OS). but yeah. for brisbane region, i'm not sure of what vehicles are CCP's, SOS's and HARU's off by heart, but for SER i do. hope this helps

@@garlicbreadlikesqfes I've never used one in anger. We were allocated the very first Sprinter for our region back in about 1999-2000. No bullbar and they had strobes mounted in the corners of the bumper. We had the Sprinter for a week and had to do an evaluation on them which led to many improvements. The strobes on the bumper bar lasted about 10 hours, thanks to me not realising the turning circle of the Sprinter compared to an F-250. When I was in Northern Region we got a steel bullbar for our 4x4 Sprinter, which was a statewide first. Then they incorporated them as a safety feature starting with the new livery. Aren't they supposed to be a polyethyene made item that pop back into shape if hit?
