    Thank you so much for this demonstration! We use a humidifier nightly and I'm embarrassed to say our mist tube was disgusting! Being able to see how to take this apart was a HUGE help. I was not going to continue to use it due to the build up of grim, slim, and meldew inside. Thank you!

    Thank you. What we did was removed the 6 screws on the back that hold the tube on and threw them out. Shown at 3:58 Now we can remove the tube whenever we want by just removing the water tanks. And the two screws in the tank under the transducer cover 6:36.

      I appreciate the guidance, especially the phrases "threw them out" and "whenever we want". Seems to me they didn't design this with ease of cleaning in mind, which is super critical. The exercise in the video seems like a tedious chore!

    Thank you! It's a shame that they make it this difficult for people to get rid of that mold buildup with each cleaning!!!

    You did a perfect job of describing the process step by step. I had got myelf half way into it and then was stumped. As it turned out my mist tube was in really horrible shape. It took me forever to actually clean it, but now I can run the machine in confidence. Well done.

    Such poor engineering to see what must be done to clean the humidifier tube! However your video was absolutely useful. Getting that tube clean was driving me crazy; now I’ll be able to get it clean. Logically, it would have to get filthy! Thanks so much. Patrick

      U shud be able to remove 6 screws that hold the tube and the tube will come apart vertically into two pieces. That shud make the tube clean very easy. Brush thing won’t here that easy.

    Thank you! I kept trying to pop the top plastic head but it was stuck up hard.. I was scared to break it.
    But looking at your video I guess I had to push it hard! appreciate the effort!

    This humidifier is the dumbest $70 I’ve ever spent. First guy to make an easy-clean humidifier will be a millionaire.

      I feel the same way. Homedics could have made this a lot easier to access (even 2 screws) but a lever or latch of sorts could have done the job. Maybe their next model?
      I did use long q tips. That seemed to work. Used it last night. No clean light. Whisper soft operating. Still happy with my Homedics 👍

    WOW, I came to this video never imagining it would actually involve this much work (even different screws you have to keep separate each time???) Feel like I should just throw this thing out.

    Thank you for the directions, this is a horrible design to make cleaning the tube impossible without complete disassembly. You didn’t take the breakdown this far but you can remove the 6 screws holding the back half of the tube to the large front plate. (They should have put these screws on the outside, where you could easily get to them to clean.) This allow me to clean the whole tube without having to have an extension to the brush.

    On the front side of the mist tube assembly there’s 6 Phillips screws you can take out to clean it more thoroughly. I had to do it with mine because it was full of pink mildew.

    • @edwardsimpson8257
      @edwardsimpson8257 Před 2 lety

      I did the same thing with those six screws. Perfect! It comes apart and it's so easy to clean the tube then.

  • @lee70ns

    It isn’t necessarily mold. It’s buildup from hard water with a lot of minerals in it. It has a 2 yr warranty. The paint came off mine around the transducer (again because of hard water) and they replaced it with a brand new one in a retail box. I asked them about the dirty tube and was told that’s what it was from.

    I actually just permanently removed that top aiming nozzle and operate the humidifier without it. That nozzle is so restrictive that the machine puts out seemingly more than twice the fog output after I removed it lol.

    Does the bacteria killing lamp only work if. It’s set to hot? The instructions are vague in this

    • @addismultitasking3504
      @addismultitasking3504  Před 2 lety
