I was brought up in sandsend from 1954 till 1969 i when i lived there most of the cottages were lived in all the year round and it was a good community to have been brought up in and of course the whitby loftus railway was in operation

Yes beautiful place is sandsend. Do lots of winter cod fishing off the wall in the car park & I shall be there a few times through December & January. Ps lovely clear camera work.

I was really surprised by the old viaduct! When I visited there wasn't even a hint of its former presence - but it's a great bit of hidden history that shows a completely different side to Sandsend :) Thank you so much for watching - I'm really glad you enjoyed the video!

Fabulous walk again Sir. Any chance you have walked Hutton le Hole, Kirkbymoorside, Helmsley areas? There are some stunning little villages and walks hidden around there. Keep doing what you do it's so relaxing to walk with you, thanks alot.

I haven't been to any of the villages you mention, though I've certainly heard of a couple of them - it's often quite a challenge to get to some of the smaller settlements in the region in the winter, but I'll certainly visit next year in the summer :) So do stay tuned for that and many more!
I knew a bit of the railway history of Sandsend but I've never seen the actual village before, or even the beach. Looks like a lovely spot but I bet there's hardly any "locals" left. Any kids growing up there will have little chance of getting a house, that's for sure.
The village really is gorgeous - it's no wonder tourists once flocked in their thousands to Sandsend on the railway. As you mention, house prices now have made it a village mainly full of holiday homes, but it remains a beautiful place to visit! Thank you so much for watching - I really hope you enjoyed the video!
