Technically it's the last generations fault. Our fault... But then again the Boomers and EARLY Gen-X'ers still in political office nowadays have basically done nothing to improve school systems.
You spelled "funeral" wrong.
So I once had a teaching aid provided for me because of large class sizes and she kept asking me for the time. That was basically all she did throughout the day. She would just be a body in the room, sit around by the door, and ask me for the time. Eventually, I started just gesturing to the analog clock on the wall, because I was busy with other things that she was supposed to be helping me with and it was very clearly on the wall.
Fast forward to the end of the day, when we are alone in a room and I am doing paper work, and she asks me again. Once again, I gestured to the wall. She responded by saying, "I can't read that." I looked up from my work and asked for clarification. She said that they didn't teach her how to read that in school, because they stopped teaching it in schools before she started. I asked her some questions about her age and where she grew up with kind of an "ah, that's fascinating" tone. I listened to her talk and her reaffirm that "no school teaches it anymore or has for years".
I told her that was really interesting, because, by her own account, she was a year older than me and we attended the same public school district as children. I definitely learned how to read a clock. I had to do work sheets and we had little, yellow clocks made out of plastic that we could set to different times as tools for learning.
She froze up and was like, "What, no, you're mistaken." I then clarified that the building she was "working" in at the moment taught kids how to read a clock and how it has been part of the mandatory curriculum for second graders since before my older sibling (older than her) was born. In fact, I had just assisted a second grader with her work sheet the day before, during my free time. The student was confused about the 5 minute increments for the minute hand, since it did not have small lines indicating the implied numbers in between. I told my then aid that schools here DID phase out cursive some time after my younger sibling learned it, but that they still teach people how to read clocks.
She looked so dumbfounded and stood by how I was somehow still wrong, so I pulled out one of the yellow practice clocks we use for children and offered to teach her how to read a clock. Even most children pick it up in a few minutes and it was a life skill that would be useful to her, as analog clocks won't be going away any time soon.
She got furious and stormed out. I asked for a different assistant the next day, because she was clearly under qualified for her position and didn't even assist me with anything when given instructions. She ended up getting fired for something unrelated a week later (I believe it was a mixture of child endangerment and not showing up to work at all 3 out of her first 5 days without contacting anyone). I'm honestly not sure how she even got the job in the first place. I assume that she straight up lied on her resume and no one bothered to vet her properly because we had such large class sizes for the staff that we had available.
I'm still not sure what this lady was doing during her childhood for her to have supposedly learned nothing, despite claiming that we went to the same schools and grew up in the same area. It feels like she was either willfully ignorant or lying about her childhood education too. Either way, it was not because of the education system in this case.
unthinkable.
I aint reading all that but im happy for you tho or sorry that happened
The education system should have held her back. It is 100% the fault of the education system, including parents.

Why are there ALWAYS those who want to put restrictions on other people????
THE ANSWER IS:
GIVING THEM A BETTER EDUCATION!!!!!!
These people can vote.
I love that he says “yes” to every answer. If this is real this is terrible. I knew more than these kids when I was in kindergarten.

9:26 and 9:58 are great examples of low IQ. People with low IQ cannot compute time or think abstractly. You cannot teach them, look at the effort he puts into trying to explain to the last woman why she’s wrong and she still doesn’t get it.

This is why our country is in serious crisis.

Winston Churchill said, “the best argument against democracy is a 5 minute conversation
with the average voter”.
Democracy is wonderful, the problem is universal suffrage.
That was when voters had a decent education.
Fun fact: It isn't just America. I was once having a conversation with my little sister and she stated that her primary school didn't teach her how to read an analogue clock as it was seen as unimportant and there where 'more important' subjects to teach.
