I did that on the guitar, which I can't play for nuts, and in one way it was quite a good thing because I was restricted, knowing only a few chords. It's a good discipline because I simply had to write within a small framework. I couldn't work through too many chords and because of that restriction I wrote a good song, I think"

At least with the internet he will live on forever. He enjoyed performing and it clearly showed every time he was on stage. He was so flamboyant and that is what made him so much fun to watch. I'll never forget that story where some big dancing group tried to get Freddie to dance with them for a show, and he decided to go along. They realized very quickly the man cannot dance anything choreographed in the slightest, he just has this way of moving on stage where it feels like the rhythm takes over and all of a sudden he's flowing perfectly to a song and you can't help but want to join him.
"Some big dancing group"? Lord help us, that was The Royal Ballet!
