- FULL VERSION NOW UPLOADED! Finally, the Kiner's Korner theme has been found! On the sad passing of HOFer and Mets legendary broadcaster Ralph Kiner, I finally found the original source of the theme song from his classic "Kiner's Korner" Mets post-game show. The song is "Flag Of Victory Polka" from the LP Big Band Polkas On Parade, by Ira Ironstrings And His Polka Marching Band, released in 1962.

Reminds me of Sunday afternoons after a Mets win on free TV channel 9.
Those good ole days. 🥲🥲😏👍
Let's Go Mets!!!!!!@@dalemcilwain
The first wrap up show now everybody does it
Love this song. It reminds me of the Ralph and the Mets postgame show with Ralph partaking in an alcoholic beverage!!!
So apparently “Ira Ironstrings” was a pseudonym for bandleader Alvin McBurney, who was better known by his other pseudonym “Alvino Rey” over at Capitol Records.
Thanks to Phil Mushnick of the NY Post for mentioning this in his column today about how the Yankees organist played this during the Mets-Yankees game this week when the Yankees' Isaiah Kiner-Falefa came to bat. I hadn't heard this in forever.
I've never heard the full version...never knew it was a Victory Polka!!!
It takes me back and I miss him all the more.
God I miss those days.
It's a good thing they never had a "look back" special called Kiner's Korner Klassics.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for sharing. I've looked many years for this song.
They Dont write em like that anymore! They dont make players like Ralph Kiner anymore either.
The Tom Seaver picture at 1:02 reminds me of when Seaver was drunk on Kiner's Korner after they clinched the division vs. St. Louis in 1969 after drinking all that champagne in the locker room. I think Kiner was drunk too, but he was probably drunk before the game even ended. Too many Rheingolds.
Do they still make Rheingold? How about Shaefer.
Shaefer is the
One beer to have
When you're having more than one...
I can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning but the 60's are stuck in my head!
@@robbyg8073 The Shaefer brand has been revived. I see it in the supermarket here in NYC. It was gone for a long time. I don't see Rheingold, so maybe it's still dead. It'll probably come back some day.
🥴🥴😆😆
home......
Good evening and welcome to KINER'S KORNER. Tonight's presentation is brought to you by Dutch Masters Cigars, by your New York and Tri-State area Chrysler dealers... Chrysler is Coming Through, by American Airlines... doing what we do best, and by Schaefer Beer... it's the one beer to have when you're having more than one.
And of course, they made Schaefer change their slogan to "The one beer to have when you want to have some fun"
Rheingold was the sponsor, not Schaefer.
Rheingold sponsored the Mets from 1962-1973, Schaefer from 1974-1979
Manufacturers Hanover Trust a sponsor ?
THANK YOU!
