- We qualified for the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League with a convincing, confident, classy 6-0 win at home to RC Lens on Wednesday night.
Kai Havertz got his second goal in as many games to give us an early lead, before Gabriel Jesus made it two, Bukayo Saka got a third, and Gabriel Martinelli then got his name on the scoresheet with 28 minutes played in a dominant first-half display.
Martin Odegaard scored for 5-0 on the brink of half-time, and Jorginho became our sixth different goalscorer of the night from the penalty spot late on.
It took just seven minutes for us to have our first sight of goal as Oleksandr Zinchenko crossed for Jesus, who could only cushion the ball into the side netting past the near post.
Five minutes later, Saka found Takehiro Tomiyasu overlapping on the right wing. He delivered a cross for Havertz who headed the ball back across goal and just wide of the post.
Then we took the lead, Tomiyasu’s cross not cleared and Jesus heading the ball into the path of Havertz, who simply tucked it past the onrushing Brice Samba for 1-0.
Jesus was the man who slotted home into the bottom left corner for our second goal of the night, but it wouldn’t have happened without the lung-busting run of Saka, wriggling his way through the middle of the pitch exactly five years on from his senior debut before laying it off for our Brazilian forward.
“We’ve got super Mik Arteta” rung around Emirates Stadium, inviting a third from our glorious Gunners, and Saka duly obliged. Martinelli cut in from the left and his shot was pushed kindly into Saka’s path, and he simply couldn’t miss.
In the 27th minute, Martinelli drifted in from the left wing again and curled the ball into the far corner on his right foot as we went 4-0 up inside the first half-hour - a ruthless performance.
Elye Wahi forced a save from David Raya from a narrow angle at the other end for Lens’ first real chance of the game in the 37th minute, before Facundo Madina smashed the post from distance. Angelo Fulgini then struck straight into Raya’s gloves.
Martinelli hit the side netting with half-time approaching before Odegaard got in on the act, volleying into the bottom right corner from Tomiyasu’s cross after our full-back had flown past Saka again on the overlap.
Tomiyasu was replaced by Ben White at half-time while Zinchenko made way for Jakub Kiwior.
We made another change with 25 minutes to go as Reiss Nelson came on for Saka.
Unsurprisingly, the second half was nowhere near as eventful and it took until the 67th minute for the first notable chance, Havertz performing some excellent trickery by the corner flag and pulling it back for Odegaard, whose deflected shot was spilled before Lens cleared the danger.
Jorginho came on for Declan Rice, who had looked typically comfortable on the ball throughout, with 15 minutes remaining.
White headed over from an Odegaard corner before Eddie Nketiah became our final substitution of then game when he came on for Jesus with eight minutes to go.
With five minutes remaining, we were awarded a penalty, courtesy of a VAR check, due to a handball from Abdukodir Lhusanov. Odegaard gave it to Jorginho, who calmly slotted into the bottom right for 6-0.

Always has been for me really, but yea, his performances go up a little each time he plays. The humble Japanese is a beast. Our backline is blessed right now.... all without Tmber at that.
He is a better crosser than White but White makes less errors with the ball. Both very hard working

No matter how they play, If we want to achieve what we want to achieve we need to win these games.
If someone plays a low block against you, then you just have to move the ball quickly to open and find the gaps, which means you need to be at your best and most confident for the crisp, accurate, high risk passing. All the movements need to be in tandem.
I think Wolves will probably play very well and play a bit of a higher line than everyone is suggesting, they've performed positively most games and been robbed of at least 10 points already.
If they spring out the traps we need to be ready for war and not get caught napping at the back ourselves.
This was nice though, the consecutive cleansheets, Gabriel clearly loved it, and everyone was happy for rambo against Brentford.
Also the 6 goals, because we don't have a clinical number 9 and jesus has been struggling in a Brazil shirt and in our league games, I think the Brazilian media criticism did get to him. 2 in 2 for Havertz from open play though and Sakas numbers this season are ridiculous. As we all know Eddie always gives 200% when he steps in.
Nelson also looked dangerous and if Martinellis cut back went through the defenders legs he would have been on the score sheet too.
I want to give wolves a good pounding, I feel like some teams in the league are getting treated unjust - Everton, Wolves maybe Burnley have been unlucky or just terrible I'm not too sure but yeah, we have to be ruthless, we need all the points.

There’s legit reason why Saka and Martinelli are getting double-teamed in every premier league game. Because of their capability to rip apart defenders on 1-on-1 situations as shown in this game.

Arsenal's backline is indeed very exciting. With players like Gabriel, Saliba, White, Tomiyasu, Zinchenko, Timber, and Kiwior, there are many talented individuals bringing positive elements to the team. Furthermore, if Tierney returns from his loan, the team's defense will be further strengthened. He brings excellent playing style and experience, making him a crucial player for Arsenal. Arsenal's backline is very promising, and I look forward to a positive future.
Tierney has never been good enough. Deadwood. Its the reason Arsenal bought Timber. He is gone. Zinchencko and Timber is the left backs of Arsenal. Tomiyasu and White the right backs.
If Arsenal need more coverage, Tierney isnt it. Should find someone else.

Tomi again is a beast, a real-life bloody T-800(Tominator). His work rate is insane and the ability to cover his CBs and chase down attackers and Link up with Saka on that right side is just top-notch. His already an insane defender, and now, the way Mikel is molding him into a counter attacker is just beautiful.
Jesus is wonderful anytime he's back. So underrated 🥶

Not sure what you have been watching. This isn't true. Havertz usually slows down the play. Nothing I've seen so far from Havertz should give this impression? I'm fairly certain Martinelli is far from happy with Havertz anyway as he constantly makes big runs with Havertz passing backwards instead of playing him through.

Finally Ben may get an extended sub role from the sidelines as Tommy is definitely the better defender in my opinion.

When Tomi did the howler against City at the Emirates and KDB capitalized on it to score, the whole fans in the stadium rally around him. That shows you the class we've got. Even when Wilo (Saliba) scored an ungoal he was cheered by the fans. Give Tomi his flowers, man got hard work and great determination. He has stick to the Jurrien role, like duck in water
