    hi, if there is a problem with the chain, Peugeot should fix it free of charge, but only if you have all warranty services at an authorized service center and the car is max. 5 years or you have less than 150,000 km.

      There was not a word about this when I was asking them. The car was from France and i bought it from there. Do they honor the warranty across different state?

    It’s the ac compressor pulley .

      Thank you for the feedback and the tip! I'll get that checked out. My AC is working fine, but that does not mean that the pulley may be getting bad. Once again, thank you!

    Mate it’s the hydraulic lifters/valves. If the noise goes away then 1 or more of the lifters are sticking (sticky valves).
    Put some wynns hydraulic lifter treatment in the oil it’s around £10 and run it for abit and it will clean the sticky lifters.
    Or buy an engine flush and run it for 15 mins on idle and then drain the oil and filter and put new oil and filter back in.
    Done mine today and it’s sorted 👍

      @Antsummerfield83 i’ve watched some videos on the topic of lifter. This looks like a good summary! czcams.com/video/akhZtKbsgig/video.htmlsi=RQV_FAKAOMS8CIPo

      @@kookoo111222 yes in startup especially cold it won’t make the horrible ticking sound, it’s the lifters. I’ve used the hydraulic lifter treatment in mine and it’s sorted it and is abit smoother

    • @Antsummerfield83
      @Antsummerfield83 Před 6 měsíci +1

      If the noise comes and goes then there’s no damage to the lifter/valve it’s just a stick valve. If it’s all the time and if no flush or hydraulic lifter addictive helps then it’s worn and needs replacing.

    Chain 7 mm needs to be changed to 8 mm asap so it doesnt snap. Mine thankfully just stretched. dont wait if it has 7 mm camshaft chain. Also change timing belt couse it has 140k km.

    • @kookoo111222
      @kookoo111222  Před 3 měsíci

      Timing belt has been changed. The chain has not, as that is not a part of regular service. Is the 7 to 8 replacement something that Peugeot does as a recall?

    • @dseb6133
      @dseb6133 Před 3 měsíci

      @@kookoo111222 no. Peugeot just repairs when something happens when car has warranty. Inform yourself if your car has 7mm and if it has change it to 8mm couse of high milage your car has. In the meantime drive the car sparingly.

      Not yet... Hoping the video spreads a little and people are going to comment. While looking at others I also commented on their video where the sound was similar, but have not heard back yet. People were stating everything from water pump, oil pump, belt, valves, injectors. When I was doing regular service, the person there said there is nothing and I should just be listening for changes in the sound at which point I decided I had to do the video and poll the world car lovers. 😀

      @@kookoo111222 does your noise disappear after a while or if you restart the engine? I thought it was some kind of tensioner of which the cam chain tensioner was on my mind, it sounded dreadful but after turning of and back on the noise completely went so I can not see how that would be a tensioner.
      I did see something about the air con compressor but again I don’t see how this would be the problem with it disappearing after restarting my engine. It sounds like the top end has a proper rattle. I’ve only had my car a month and I certainly wouldn’t of purchased it if it sounded like this when I had started it

    • @kookoo111222
      @kookoo111222  Před 7 měsíci

      This ticking sound on the video disappears when the car sits overnight in the garage. After driving for a while it is there and stays there even after switching it off.
      You said your sound seems to be coming from the top right? Does it change if you increase RPM e.g. on neutral or while in gear? Did you try asking in a regular service to see what they say?
      PS - I also had mine for about a month. :D

      @@kookoo111222 I’ve only had the noise once the other day and I was shocked. I revere the car slightly and noise increased. I had the car running for around 5-10mins I popped the bonnet to see what was happening and the longer it ran it kinda got a little quieter but still the noise was there. It was definitely coming from cambelt area, I pressed the clutch and that made no difference. I hadn’t started the car for 3 days when this happened so it’s like something was sticking causing it to have that horrible rattle/ticking sound. It was a relief when I turned the engine off and back on for it to go. But confusion remains😂, I had not long changed the engine oil days prior and gearbox oil but it had been driven after that was done.

      @kookoo111222  Před 7 měsíci +1

      When (if) that happens again, pop the bonnet and record a short video. The question is if cam shaft noise can change. In my layman mind if cam shaft chain is bad, the sound cannot just go away like that. It can only get worse so I am thinking if it can be something else.
      I just subscribed to you to hopefully see the notifications from you. I would be curious what you are experiencing. Mine is automatic. I can keep you updated how this goes. :D

    hi I have the same problem after a few minutes of driving have you found the solution ?

    • @kookoo111222
      @kookoo111222  Před měsícem

      Not yet! Couple of people suggested various solutions depending on what they thought the issue might be. Someone suggested valve cleaning solution and another 7mm chain replacement. The Peugeot shop said there is nothing wrong. I am currently just monitoring to see if anything changes over time, but so far no change after 6 months and 15000km. The chain isn't due for replacement on mine for another ~30k km and I might do the valve cleaning including some other cleaning when I am closer to my service interval just to see.
      Have you tried anything?

      I went to the service center yesterday and the service technician said it could be something with the EGR or the radiator, etc. But I have the same sound as on this link. However, I don't know what kind of error the Berlingots found in this

The sound seems to come from the chain cover IDk I will try to clean the DPF myself without disassembling at home and I am about to take that cover off to see if the chain is lose or something. It has a sound like in the video sometimes that tickling and that continuous sound when hidling. Probably a stuck valve lifter or something I don't know. What do you think? Later I will try to record a video and share with you. Send me your whtsapp if you want.

      @@almeidaalves8208 someone already commented on the valve lifter and suggested lifter cleaning solution that he poured into the oil (it should be in the comments below). For him the solution worked. I have not tried yet, just observing as i have recently had a large service done. If the sound does not change i plan to do that solution plus oil flush treatment before the next yearly service. I hope others add their thoughts in the meantime.
