Cherno Alpha should have gotten a lot more screen time, it was the most industrial looking and just purpose built jaeger. Nothing fancy, just one big fighting machine.

@@user-nc9gv8ei7zNewton had the schematics for Crimson Typhoon, Striker Eureka and the aforementioned Cherno Alpha. When he drifted with the Kaiju brain, the Kaiju's figured out how those jeagers worked so they designed specific counters for them. It wasn't a design problem it was an info leak that caused them to die.

Черный Альфа - едва ли не единственный егерь, конструкторы которого хоть немного подумали о нормальной защите кабины пилотов. Если бы он принимал бой на суше, то может быть и уцелел бы. А вообще, руководителя операции (которого играл Идрис Эльба) следовало бы уволить с позором, за такую организацию обороны. Мало того, что егерям не придано никакой воздушной поддержки (Хотя бы для беспокоящего обстрела и отвлечения внимания кайдзю), так их еще и разместили рассыпным строем в воде, где техника работающая с использованием электричества - априори гораздо более уязвима чем огромные животные.

The fact that Cherno Alpha lasted through 4 categories worth of kaijus over time and was only taken down in a 2v1 makes him the greatest jaeger imo.
He was mostly defeated because of Newt leak when he drifted on how yeagers worked and then the aliens built Kaijus with perfect counter abilities

Awesome comparison. The first Jaegers were massive. I would have loved to have seen a prequel movie featuring those Jaegers rather than the garbage sequel we got.

Poor Cherno Alpha. The precursor made that acid Kaiju specifically to counter him.
Wasn’t rlly a counter. I don’t think he would’ve lost by simply putting acid on his face he lost bc he got 2v1
@sold22 It was a counter. One of the main feature that enabled Cherno to keep fighting was his thick armor which protected their con-pod and reactor. If that wasn't compromised, he could still hold on until help arrives.

If you watch the cool fight, Cherno was holding on and tanking the two kaijus and could have spent longer fighting them if it wasn't for compromised armor. Even with the melting armor, the big kaiju had to put his whole body weight into it to do more damage to the armor. They died because they drowned and the reactor malfunctioned due to water seeping into the reactor.
The precursor is smart. Acid for Cherno armor, emp for Striker, 3 fast limbs for Typhoon. The rest is the usual strong muscle and thick armor.
This is why Pacific rim uprising confused the shit out of me. look how big Scrapper, your telling me a teen girl was able to build all that?

@@ry7hymit was also America's first Jaeger and despite how brawny it's torso looks, it was actually designed to be more of a mid to long range fighter, it's main weapons were two triple link automatic cannons on its pecks, think the "kiwi cannon" in striker eureka's chest but automatic, supposedly it was based off the A10 warthog's main gun which shoots explosive red bull can sized bullets at 75 rounds a second, just scaled way up to jager size and there were 6 of them lol 😂 very American idea really, pick a gun and build a robot around it! The hands were also designed more for grabbing and holding over punching so it could fire point black while holding a Kaiju in front it, hence the other use of the dumb looking fin, to keep the Kaiju from being able to headbutt or bite the head during such an instance, I might be a bit of a Jaeger fanboy lol

It's good to see Hunter Vertigo, Atlas Destroyer, and my boy Apex in here. The Black was an enjoyable show, despite the second season feeling as rushed as it did.

The first Pacific Rim joins Dredd as one of the most underrated movies of the 2010's
so glad Atlas Destroyer and Hunter Vertigo (and Apex) got some recognition here. Atlas Destroyer is probably one of my favourite jaegers aside from Gipsy Danger.
Atlas destroyers paint scheme is in my opinion really cool. Not often you get very sharp and vibrant looking jaegers so it was really cool to see in the anime.

The designs of the jeagers are my favorite things about the 2 films
NEver understood why if each new Kaiju class was bigger than the one before, the jaegers are all almost the same size, and even smaller. Striker Eureka was one of the latest models and is smaller than 1gen's Cherno.

For some knowledge cherno alpha didn't have a head hence kaiju didn't know how to kill him but after the doctor newt made a drift with kaiju they knew they can 1v2 him
it's like they hired some ex WWF wrestling insider to name the Jaegers but promised him Jaegermeister and he got really pissed drunk and named them all really bizarre or stupid combinations of words

I love the designs feom the first movie, each one seemed to have its own personality and roots in the cultures of their respective nations. I agree that Gipsy Danger just looks like a giant cowboy, and Cherno Alpha was just actank with legs and arms. Its a shame we didn't see any of that in the second film that never happened, it was just boring, generic designs that made them seem more like a tion figures than giant, powerful robots.

All the yeagers are correct except Crimson typhoon,the comic says that crimson is about 250 ft but a more accurate representation of blue prints show that crimson typhoon is 290ft
