There is no point in buying the same sports game every year. They should release a new game every 2-3 years and just release DLC every year in between for $20 to update rosters, stadiums and rules.

Thank you! That's my review of the game...DLC at premium prices. Franchise is again left to rot. And this announcement team is horrible. Graphics got the lightest touch up you could imagine. And the player ratings? đđđ. I'm sticking with 21.

Not much difference between the two games. If you have â21, donât buy this game. Just update your roster.
There is something to be said about not changing things just to change things. Loving all the little refinements that make complete sense so far.
Great review, one of my biggest things is why haven't they added a setting where you can play franchise and shorten the season to different lengths, 45 games, 60, 80 etc...
I remember it being a feature in older games in the series, not sure why it was ever removed
I remember the old Triple Play games on PS1 had that option.
Listen, I've played like 3 straight seasons of 162 plus playoffs.
I really would love to cut it down to like...80 game XD
Although, 2 of those seasons, came down to the last day, one was a tiebreaker for the division, the other came down to some other metric for best record overall.

Good game but what happened to the pitcher introduction stats for away teams
The dual sense controller is going to make it hard to go back to the older versions that vibration it gives me is something that needs to be in every version from now on
Please tell me a patch can fix the announcers. It's horrible, I was down 2-0 in the playoffs and kept saying I was up 2-0 in the playoffs. Also they repeat everything like 5 times throughout a game. 21 was old at times but at least it took a few games before they repeated stuff.

I miss the mlb 2k8 style of presentation and the uniform option styles (you could get baggy to slim fit uniform stylesâŠidk how that was never applied to these new games
I felt 21 was a long grind of upgrading. But is there a different between the new and old generation? I ask because the old generation of mlb 22 is on sale for 8 bucks.
Fair review. Iâd give it an 8 just because the fun factor is still very high for me.

Does equipment actually save and appear on your rtts player this time ? Does changing your load out in in-between series work instead of having to go back to the club house every time you need to switch between pitcher and position player ? ...

Love the show but it should be a semi annual release at the very least. But, so long as people buy yr after yr they will make it yr after yr.

You forgot to mention that there's tons of equipment missing that was shown in the trailers and that the game frequently dips below 60fps regardless of which system you have.

Here's my complaint with the Show... the player models have been largely the same squarish models with 2008! When you're actually in-game, everything looks great, but during cutaway shots, this game has aged horribly. It's time to invest in new facial animations, uniforms physics, body types, running animations.. that's what makes this game feel OLD! Gameplay is fantastic as always and has been that way since 06 with Big Papi on the cover. But damn, WERE ON PS5 NOW! It's time from graphical improvements
It's hard to improve much with yearly releases...I think I'm just gonna get MLB 21, I can't tell them apart anyway.
I havenât checked yet but I wish there was a way the game could list a playerâs career accolades like they do in 2K.

I think the game is good if you love diamond dynasty, but for career mode just buy one and stick with it.
Hated MLB 21 cause it was so different from 20, especially RTTS, however so far Iâve had fun playing 22
I enjoy 21. I never played 20. I played 22 for about an hour, shrugged my shoulders and returned to 21.

If you planning to play franchise or RTTS just keep in mind it doesn't have the new playoff format so just keep playing MLB 21.

I bought the ps4 version. The regular season schedule is wrong, & the rosters are not updated/accurate. Plus, Yankees players have facial hair. Could anyone tell me why?

The presentation in this game is really good.
Here's the thing: If this is your first The Show, you'll be very happy. The Show is the only actual MLB baseball game to enjoy. If you're returning, you'll be shocked to see the exact same game as last year. And that trade logic is still goofy AF. It's beyond evident this is a RESKIN with minimal effort added from last year to maximize those profits off of all those cards they focus only on selling in pack$.

@@chscelebrity8325 Not necessarily. I think it depends on what modes you play in sports game. As far as Madden goes, absolutely they do very little to improve and innovate and when they do it simply breaks other things in the game. For NBA 2K (mind you I only play online franchise modes) there are always some quality of life additions in the game each year. They may not be what everyone wants so they don't get talked about. Also the fact that they have a very open and intuitive system by which you can create, edit and import players into any roster you want makes for more freedom of creativity. The Show is hampered by a ton of issues as well. The game plays well and is enjoyable for the most part but the biggest issue this game has is a complete lack of innovation. I don't know how long you've been playing the game but for me I haven't seen anything change where player ratings are concerned. That's disturbing when you consider how different baseball is today from say 5-7 years ago. The ratings they give us doesn't even scratch the surface of how players are different from others. I feel this will never change now that they've expanded to so many different platforms. If you can't take the time to make baseball players seem like their real life counterparts when you're on one console you really won'y when you stare all of those dollar signs from all of the new players from other consoles playing DD.
@@jayfeev215 Well said. My 21 does what I need it to do for the most part. I'm sticking with 21 over starting fresh in 22. I can understand an overhaul to create the type of game you're talking about, a game that we'd all enjoy too, but it's the neglect by SDS to upgrade little things as well. How difficult, how much resources are really needed by SDS to implement desired features such as : better stat tracking, option to play Single A, a more exciting or original scouting system, a freaking trophy room, accomplishments such as MVP or Gold Gloves tacked to the players history, training that actually works, concession stands/merchandise adjusting, Expansion Draft, even year to year saves. SDS is missing attention to detail in the nostalgic driven nature of baseball. It's missing the passion and I think this years The Show is the evidence of that. Great game in there but the corporate heads won't let it breathe, it's strictly card driven and for franchise only players...it's pretty disappointing, especially when you consider how easy it would be for them to sprinkle a little love our way.
People expecting this game to be TOTALLY DIFFERENT every year are insane. I think one day with sports games, they will release upgrades every year and then a totally different tgame every few years....i hope
Pro Yakyuu Spirits keeps the same game for two seasons, releasing a free roster update the second year. No reason The Show canât do the same.

After the fraud of MLB 21 I swore to never buy this game again. It looks like I'm not missing much. I got 21 solely for the created stadiums and night games. They promised night games and they didn't come out until 22. They don't get my money again. Looks like a good decision on my part.

In my opinion this game just needs rebuilt from the ground up. It felt realistic in the PS2/PS3 days when we didn't know better. Now that the same animations and everything else has been rehashed for over 10 years it really just feels awfully stale and honestly unrealistic at this point. Madden 04 also felt realistic once. Not anymore. Same with the Show. It needs redone. Motion needs changed so it doesn't feel so robotic. Sound needs updated. Throws, swings...the swings still have that ridiculous hitch that just doesn't happen in real life. I've played baseball for close to 15 years...this game just doesn't feel realistic to me anymore. It needs rebuilt solely for new hardware. Also, WTF is a stub?!? Like come on. Focus on gameplay and being a baseball sim. No clue what a stub is and if I ever got one but it clearly shouldn't be a focus for a sports sim.

Needs more presentation. Mlb 08 had more presentation every player was announced during the lineup. I have all of them and the presentation got worse as the years went on
