Back Deck Makeover - Backyard (Before and After!)

- In the summer of 2021, we tackled the backyard outdoor project of our deck makeover. Here is the before and after video of how we gave our back living space a new look. The old pinewood deck planks got an extreme power wash, whereafter they got a fresh coat of semi-transparent Defy Butternut stain. Did you guys bolt the gazebo to the deck. If not, the wind will blow it away. Very nice outcome.
Oh, yes, for sure. Each post has four holes in the feet area for strong bolts. 🙌👍
@@VintageHipDecor hello there. So nice to get a direct response. I mentioned that because one guy in Florida thought the weight of the gazebo would prevent the wind from blowing it over. The wind picked it up and blew it onto the golf course as it was blowing an umbrella around. I love your scenic backyard and I love that you are beautifying each area of your yard. Looking for to seeing your other project. PS. The fountain was really nice.
That's a nice size deck. What size is it 16X16? I'm trying to get one built this year and I also bought a gazebo that I need to put together. You and your mother rock that out, that's awesome
Hi, there. Our deck is 22' x 15' = 330 sq. ft. All the best with your projects. It sure is nice to have that extra space to hang outside. Now we huddle inside for the winter. ❄⛄🏂

Question: Did you weigh down the canopy/tent? Wouldn't a good gust of wind just rip that off the deck?

Yes, each of the four posts has four holes where bolts fit through to secure it to the deck. We've had a few storms in the meantime, and we've had no problems at all.

I am not by myself!!! Yes!. I did the same thing you did. Staining between the groove first. I figured it out and started rolling and stained the grooves. It looks great!
