This is exactly why the show needs to be more about falling in love and less about wedding engagements. It's just such an old fashioned way of doing things and adds a lot of pressure.
And please, people need to realize that this is not a regular engagement. The person who won, basically wins a dating ticket that hopefully could end in an actual wedding.

You worded that perfectly. The focus of an engagement, especially one over a couple of weeks on national television, really can make things messy. Finding love should be the main goal of the show. Engagement by the end or not, whatever pace works for the pair. I completely agree with you
I agree with you to some extent. However this is not an old fashion way, it is more an unrealistic way to end in an engagement.
I feel she chose Blake out of desperation because Greg left. He was 2nd best imo. Poor Blake. He is a hopeless romantic. I think he just hasn't found his true love. He needs someone who will love and accept him completely.
Greg was best for her and they matched. Something just set him off so he left. Blake just keeps doing the show and knows what to do, letting him on the show later hurt the other guys and their relationships.

What does it mean?
Blake is a real man. He's solid, mature, knows himself, and as Brian says, willing to be open and vulnerable. He's also genuinely a nice man and a good human being as well.

Blake is SO well spoke, level headed, graceful and mature. I have to consciously remind myself that he and Katie are the same age. She comes across as 10 years younger emotionally. Hurt people hurt people and that is my final opinion on Katie and her antics. I wish them BOTH well and hope they can both move on with GRACE.
My opinion of Katie has completely changed. She did the whole 12 days of messy for clout, knowing that she would blindside Blake with the new relationship announcement. There had to have been some emotional cheating because you don’t just go from being “good friends” with someone to being happy in a relationship in 12 days. I also find it ironic that she used the plane footage of John that from the time that John flew her, Blake, and another friend around. She cropped Blake out of the video!!! She also posted a mug that says “Thank you for your feedback” with a middle finger 🖕 after people questioned the timeline of her new relationship. And then John has to post a video of them piggyback riding and kissing? So tasteless. She is really immature and acting like a high schooler. You know if the roles were reversed and Blake did this, there would be more outrage.

And the main reason why she was chosen as the Bachelorette in the first place was because of how she stood up to the mean girls on Matt's season and was all about that "girl power" but she actually seems like a bully herself. I didn't like how she treated Thomas either. She showed everyone just how shady she really is. I'm guessing Blake saw right through her and it didn't take long. The fact that she started dating someone sho quickly after the breakup shows what kind of a person she is. She never truly loved Blake. He was just her second choice.
@@cassandrawestgate5775 I feel bad for Thomas too. He was labeled a villain and got unnecessary drama that followed him to paradise and then Katie has to dig it up again for no reason? I’m glad Becca stood by her man. Katie really is a mean girl and I can see why some of the contestants voiced their concerns about her now. I had to unfollow her after this and I’m sure others will do the same.
Mine has completely changed as well. I liked her for being authentic but there’s a difference between being authentic and being insensitive/mean. She also makes a production out of things, like the way she humiliated Thomas and the way she confronted Greg, and now the way she is announcing her new relationship with a 12 days of messy tribute. You can still do what you need to do (whether it’s confronting someone or starting a new relationship) without being mean and insensitive about it, or making a whole production out of it.
@@charlottec8324 Yes 100% agree with you. The only good thing that came out of Katie’s season seems to be the bromance between all of the guys lol. It is pretty cute to see them all hang out and gush about each other.

Blake said on multiple occasions during the interview that the split was mutual and that both realized that they weren’t each others person, but both Bryan and Mike wanted to put everything on Katie only because she has a new boyfriend. That wasn’t fair.

Sure Katie is free to do what she wants, but that I don't think it was cool to blindside Blake like that. Maybe they could have had private conversation about her relationship before she posted it on social media. He is professional at times. He is a major goofball from what his family says. Katie and him were so much alike In lot of ways. They really did love one another. Distance and jobs didn't click.
I really like Blake a lot. He is very mature.
I really respect the way Blake has conducted himself since the news of their break up. I definitely get the sense that he probably thought maybe she picked him as a last resort and was in love with the idea of him and not him as a person. He seems like a great guy and I think he’s gonna find the love of his life easily since he’s willing to wear his heart on his sleeve.
This whole relationship felt kinda forced imo, but wish them both the best!

Funny how a lot of people were hating on him for going to Katie’s season. Now it’s the same people defending who used to not like him. Happy for him and Katie. Glad they realized EARLY on that it did not work out. We all move on differently. I’m glad Katie found love. Blake is a gentleman and I’m sure he will find someone who loves the incredible man he is.

I like Blake. He seems to be a kind-thinker.
That girl never loved Blake. It was always Greg untill the end. Just by her behavior on AFR. Common... Just her reaction to Greg leaving should have made it clear to Blake. Like she was about to leave the whole show because he left. Clearly at some point decided that Blake was not enough to keep her there. Then she goes on a date with Blake after heartbreak and he says allllllllll the right things that she wanted to hear from Greg. It's human nature after rejection the one thing you want the most is to hear someone wants you and Blake gave her exactly that. From the time Greg left to the engagement was probably 2days and she went from loving Greg to not loving Greg and loving Blake. Yeah... right! I just think she didn't want leave feeling rejected and thought maybe she could make it work with Blake.

Blake wasn't her first choice. I'm not surprised it didn't work. He was the last one that didn't leave. She settled for who was left. He can do much better and find someone who wants him for a first choice.
I think you have 2 very strong willed people with strong personalities. One person usually needs to be alittle more easy going in their nature to make it balance out.
They never make any sense to begin with, she seems very immature and she clearly don’t handle things very well when it comes to breakups. The disrespect she showed (to Blake) on the show when she got so mad at the guy who left, isn the e same disrespect she showed when they broke up. The level of immaturity was espectacular.

I'm a female who, like you, couldn't find the right man for me or for you the right woman. Fate intervened for me, my next door neighbor who was just a friend for a year, he and I having fun times, and then all of a sudden...BOOM! We realized we loved each other and a yr. later got married. Please consider your "just friends" females. Hopefully one of them will give both you and her the BOOM! experience that you both are in love and a year later heading down the aisle. I so hope so for you! I am confused. Why didn't they realize this while they were dating and getting to know each other on the show?? What changed from them saying they will do whatever it takes to be together?
Realistically they didn’t spend a lot of time together on the show - really, nobody does. You might get a full day if it’s a one on one date but if it’s a group date/cocktail party it’s likely only a few minutes at a time as other contestants also need time with the lead. And unless somehow production is involved to make something “good TV” they can’t just sneak off to spend alone time with the lead. And viewers don’t know what happens in the fantasy suite. Again, even that isn’t a lot of time.

This just highlights the issue of expectations with the Bachelor franchise. Knew this was going to happen when I watched the finale. I think what is edited and presented for audience consumption sets unrealistic expectations for women and men in general. Maybe instead of Neil Lane diamonds the show should offer professional couples therapy sessions before any long term commitments are made. I can't tell the difference between the Bachelor and Married at First Sight at this point. Let's put some reality back into reality tv. The viewership might just go up.
It's not just OK to bend, but necessary to bend to make a relationship work long term.
I do not think he should be the next bachelor. If distance was a concern and a factor in why Katie and him broke up, then as the Bachelor he would meet people from all over USA and Canada and be in the same situation. Unless he meets someone who is willing to move to where his home is or he is willing to relocate to where the person who picks live. It will still present the problem of getting visas for one person or the other (USA or Canada).
I hope they make him the bachelor and all the contestants are older than 65 that would be a fun season
Why can’t these people try and meet people outside the show if it’s not working on the show. Blake is on the show too much. He’s another Nick Viall who keeps coming back but can’t seem to hold on to a Bachelorette.

I was rooting for Katie until the last 2episodes. So disappointed with Katie Thurston the way how she also conducted herself with Gregg. While Gregg also was at fault, the blame game "she played" and said about "gaslighting" was really about Herself Projecting. That's ever more evident at their last interview. Heck she was at that time *already* engaged with Blake, but WTFH she's still Fuming w Gregg? She could have moved on by that time on their last interview of both of them together. But NO! That's a huge RED FLAG and bound for Relationship FAILURE.
Blake was really the "default" n next available Guy really.

We all knew this was going to happen; neither of you are mature enough to see a relationship based on lust and fun ends when you bring it to reality.
Once the Greg confrontation aired and that whole thing with Thomas, I knew it was only a matter of time when Blake would realize what an awful mean person she is. Humiliating people and emotional outrage is her thing.
So when you got into the real world you didn’t focus on building the love. Got ya lol
