  • In this video the Steinberg spotlight turns on German composer and pianist Nils Frahm in his Berlin studio. Nils talks about his approach to music as a message, the passion and harmony that goes into his music production and how the editing precision of Cubase 11 plays a big role in his sound. As well as describing his Cubase sessions, he describes how the passion of the Steinberg development team matches his for music.
Nils creates instrumental music through truly intuitive composition, transporting himself to new places through piano, synthesizers and effects, changing the instrument relationship so electronic sounds sound as if they are almost acoustic and making pianos create ‘sounds from outer space’, as he says. Nils also describes how his studio - Saal3 at Funkhaus Berlin - was built using 1950s broadcasting technology, with chamber rooms especially designed for perfect room reflections, making instruments sound great, whether they are close miked, using ambient microphones or both for sound layering.

What a beautiful place to make music! The place has a classic vibe rather than shiny with technology. Nice down- to earth guy & interview. I saw him live in Berlin a few years ago. I like how his approach is somehow simple.

the taste of the sound that you create is like you make the invisible make visible, I am talking about universe and spiritual world, humans are able to see only 4% of the reality, you make another 96% visible(or hearable). I am talking about energy, waves, space, manifestation, fundamental laws. I am extremely thankful i found you, and I found another color in music world.❤ check Mark Haughton channel.
