Crypto Tishbite once again not one tin foil hat wearing simple minded fool can or will even attempt to answer this question: when was this time of plenty for the masses? When was there EVER in ANY place a better time for the masses? It was CERTAINLY NOT better during the idiotic gold standard years - that is a FACT. You cannot answer because never before have so many people had as much leisure time, food and shelter. It is far from perfect and always will be with humans involved but still better than ever. All these goofs sit around all day wringing their hands at the international bankers - how delusional and what a waste of a short life! The Fed was contrived by bankers, using the excuse that 'unregulated' money (which it wasn't) caused boom bust cycles. Yet they presided over the biggest depression and several boom bust cycles themselves, and reduced the value of the dollar to about 3% of its early 1900s value. If there was anything like a fair judgement on the Fed they'd have been closed down during the 1930s.
So, so very annoying when these commentators have a patronizing attitude as this utter waste of a guy is.

The comments are on point. What difference does a blackberry or plumbing have to do with corruption of trade by use of a fractional reserve currency controlled by a foreign cartell of men not subject to government control (in any meaningful way). Our entire system of law has changed due to the change from a system where money of intrunsic value circulates to the system we have where obligatioins become the circulating currency. But the government uses the "education system" (it would more aptly be termed indoctrination) to insure that the majority of Americans is totally ignorant of what money is and how it functions, and ignorant of the legal system and how to protect ourself using it. Instead the attorney's are the button men because all judges are attorney's (except oddly the one does not have to be an attorney to be on the supreme court). The system is completely corrupt and this broadcaster who is no journalist (ff he was he would not have a voice on CNN or any other corporate owned media).

I suspect its because it encourages spending to keep the velocity of money moving. Otherwise if it was continuously stable you could just save it and horde it forever which could restrict spending, stimuli and gdp.
The way the system is setup, it favors debt and spending over saving. It is a poor foundation for a strong currency but I suspect it is why they behave this way.
