- Who knew jeans tucked away 124 years ago in a trunk would someday be worth so much today? The oldest pair of Levi Strauss blue jeans known to exist are from the 1890s and in pristine condition. They are believed to have never been worn. The Levis are expected to go for $80,000, according to auctioneer Daniel Soules. The jeans also come with a Levi's guarantee referencing a dark chapter in American history. They were owned by legendary pioneer Solomon Warner who helped settle Tucson, Arizona. #InsideEdition
What a pleasure to see. I wish we still made things like this in the US... well-made and more expensive. It'd cure consumerism
... and stop the import of landfill from China.
Try naked and famous denim.
More expensive?
@@your_wack26 he means better quality and by extension therefore more expensive
That’s exactly why it won’t stop consumerism is big money for corporations
These look almost like replicas. Hard to believe they aren't just worn away, the natural wear on them looks amazing.
The remakes a nowhere as dorable as the originals they make the remake horrible
Some explorer's just found some older.. down in an old mine in Arizona.. like 4 pair. Not in as good condition but believed to be pre 1870. Old known Levi's
I just saw that video!
I think that's the reason this one was on my recommend list.
I just watched that. Poor guy didn’t get to keep any pair he found.
The ones found in the mine were post 1874. But still amazing.
Yeah buddy saw that video too weeks ago.that was a jackpot
They should be in a museum, not at a auction. :(
I second that and under a protective seal.
Easy Indiana
Reality check: Most major museums have an acquisitions staff who attend auctions to purchase historically significant antiques and artifacts.
@@HunterMann Exactly.. how do people think these things get to the museum? They ask nicely and do paper rock scissors to see which museum gets the artifact? No, they have to go to auction and bid and pay money for it before their museum can have it. If the museum doesn't pay more than someone else, they don't get the piece. And typically no one is buying a pair of old jeans to display in their bedroom in private, they probably have a gallery or museum, even a private one, where it will be displayed. But if a museum wants the history they need to pay money for the item and acquire it legally.
I doubt someone is going to buy them and wear them around. Probably Framed in a Private Collection
All of that history for $80k? If I owned, I'd make sure my family held onto them for another 120 years!
Hhhhhhhhh loca
Umm I'd sell my grandma for $80,000
00:46 anyone else think the typeset looks like it could've been printed any time in the last fifty years? Clothing that doesn't look out of place now - from the 1800s. So cool.
Actually there is 3 more now. A guy found some an old mine shift.
I watch the same mining videos. He found avout 7 total pairs of jeans in the same mine. 5 turned out to be Levi's. 👆👍
The condition of those pairs looked a lot worse than this one.
Damn...you beat me to it
And the owner of the mine is greedy and a hoarder, according to the youtuber who mined the jeans for the mine owner.
Brent underwood: *watches*
This man: 80,000$ levi's
Brent underwood: time to go back to the 200th level of the union mine and get myself some levi's *off Brent runs*
“In the 1800s 30 miners were killed in the 200 level”
Watches video
Next video: “I found 30 pairs of Levi Jeans!”
And now he has some levi's
I get this reference
I sure do love inside edition but i wish they had longer clips or even full episodes
36 inch inseam was standard for these jeans. People cuffed them. He wasn’t necessarily that tall.
White Labor made jeans is the next step up from raw selvedge denim. Waiting for Iron Heart to start making these in 23 ounce.
Rick from Pawn Stars would try to lowball the guy down to 5 bucks. "Well im gonna have to pay to get them framed and the value for jeans from the 1800s just isnt what it was 5 years ago." Then they would add a little bit of cheesy comedy to it by having Chumlee put them on.
Let me call a guy I'll take a hit on them and give u $3 OK LETS RIDE IT UP
😬😬😬80k is out of my budget, how about a tootsie roll and 25c?
44x36 more likely 275 lbs. I was 6'6"with a 36 inseam and 38-44 waistband (changing weight) and weighed 250 lbs.
back when levi made good quality jeans
6'6 in height and 300 pounds. Wow.
Health&Glitter in the 1800s as well, thats insane.
@@evanwood8581 Probably closer to 275. I used to be a 40 waistband, 36 length. I'm 6'6" and when in perfect health was 250 lbs.
@@leonarddaneman810 nah, he's right. 44"waist, definitely around 300lbs
There were a couple more pair found at Castle Dome Mine in Arizona by Abandoned Mine Explorer's!
ninney 79 was just gonna say that ooo
omg I can't believe it it's it's Levi and Jean from attack on Titan!
[Edit]Wow thank you everyone first time I've gotten this many likes •.•
Blue Rings 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Blue Rings lol
LMAO LMAO LMAO LMAO
season 2 is out I hopefully I can get some new "jeans"from "Levi". more attack on Titan 😂
Blue Rings my exact thoughts
I'd like to go explore Cerro Gordo for some Levi's
The fit of these look amazing, can we get this style remade 😅
Look up Levi's LVT. They've done pretty much all models they've made over the years.
@@lancetti4843 LVC
They remade them but they made them horrible they didn't make them the same way the originals that's why they did not last the time they did not make them anymore they made a cheap version of it
Just like the Buckle backs why don't they make original version but it's going to cost $400 a pair it's just for a Buckle in the back
Add two extra buttons to the button fly higher waistline better Jean or denim make them a rough-in Steam length 42 with a cuff rivets on the pockets on the zipper area heavy duty pockets or in this case pocket they don't do the pants no justice these pants were for working men not only for partying leisure the basics of Levi was Working Class People wearing durable clothing what happened Levi would be turning in his grave
Not the oldest known anymore. A miner in Arizona found 7 pair from 1870s not long ago!
in this exact condition? hard to believe lol
The ones in the mind were older but they were beat up
36 inch inseam was actually standard because back then they were looking for a more "one-size fits all" kind of approach because it was more affordable and efficient back then. So selling individual jeans in different waist sizes were an exception, inseam lengths wasnt seen as necessary since you can adjust the leg length of your jeans by cuffing them or hemming them. So it doesn't necessarily have to do with him being a tall man or having proportionally long legs, .
In heaven he be like"Where my jeans at?"
Learn proper grammar and spelling!
Not the oldest anymore. Some guy just found about 4 older pairs from before 1880 in an old mine.
Finally! A pair of vintage jeans that would fit me!!!
“A fine pair of trousers indeed” lookin ahhh boi
great vid
I love history, but 80 thousand, bruhhhhh. No. Lmao
i mean, what do you think they should be worth?
@@rayk9598 10$
I refuse to belive my jeans too would worth $80,000 in 150 years from now.
Keep them for your great-great-great grandkids
In a time capsule
When he was sizing the guy up I was wondering if Big John worn those jeans!
This feels so stupid to watch...
Yuvraj Saini then why did you click on the video which clearly had a title that informed you about what the subject was?
Clorox Bleach ikr
He is referring to the dumbass commentary that ruins the video, so stupid people can understand.. duhhhh no belt loops? Ohhhmagurd
dude the size is the same size as my dad wears except hes 6'5.
He gets his levis from levis big n tall
I’m 6’4” 275 I wear that exact size too. 44”. 36”
he got that jeans from wallmart and trying to fool us.
Now they found older ones in an old mine! 7 pairs
These jeans probably didn't have overlock stich to keep the seams from fraying. Too bad we couldn't get a closer look at how they did it. Perhaps French seams were used.
I'd skate in those
1:06 my dad he was so tall
The typography is very modern. 0:45 The typefaces and kernings look like it was done using a computer.
White Labor my fav!
i came here after malaysian claimed he own it now😆
Mesti baca dkt metro.. haha
Rasanya dia beli drpd lelongan ni la kot.
I have one of those. But is there is a way I can have the pair authenticated?
Ray Pecina email me oldenim @ gmail.com
i’m trynna skate in those
What about the five pairs found in a old mine a few months back.
I just saw that video. I think it's why this one was on my recommend list.
WarParty! At the Outpost Lol could be why .
@@legneil, it's in the CZcams algorithm's genes... uh, jeans.🤣
Now this jeans in my country Malaysia... they already sold it to my country colector..
He's a big unit
Didn’t know they had lots of krispy cream donuts back then to feed a monster of a guy.
Those would be go hard skating in
How's this the news?
So therefore get a brand-new pair jeans and never wear them. Lol
I would literally crease them with one touch😶😰😂
Harian metro brings me here
haha. sama lahhh
Sama..
Imagine the size of the original owner.
yes
thats the main reason why i keep paying internet
The jeans sold for 100K.
sir ? How much does this cost ? Is this clothe really found nowadays ?
the oldest pair just was found by a youtuber in 2020
I have a pair of levis from the 20s
I can't hear Levi without Levi from attack on Titan popping into my head
Just another pointless person lol same.
Now I have the theme song in my head.
omg I live in tuscon arizona
Bizarrefi Productions saaaaame
I doubt he was that tall back then people cuffed their jeans
They just found a pair from 1880s
How much can i sell my 1930's carhartt overall?
Honestly that was only a hundred twenty years ago
Just Maggie inflation!
Just Maggie Jack the Ripper and the Elephant man was still walking around and most people in those days were old at 40.
Any takers?
In Malaysia there got 1pc....
The Levi back in the day had a fire 501 that was their address in San Francisco that's why the 501 is a big name a lot of their designs for pants and jackets in the San Francisco Fire back in the 1800s so they look for old clothing but they don't remake the clothing the right way they make it cheap don't make it at all Buckle back jeans like the twenties 1920s good material why would they cost 400 $500 to remake them these were working pants not hanging out Leisure pants back to the working-class Levi
There have been three earlier pairs found in a mine in arizona. Google is your friend inside edition
Lol. This is why this video appeared in my suggested feed. I watched the exploring abandoned mines video yesterday. I'd be interested in knowing what the Levi's they found look like close up and cleaned/restored.
They look like they spent 140 years in a mine shaft ;)
How do you expect them to know something, that happened 2 years ago, 4 years ago? Inside Edition probably doesn't have a time machine. If Google is their friend, what do they need you being a know-it-all on their page? Rhetorical question, I don't actually care.
Wow today its worth will be more or less 200k
It's a shame that levi's made vintage pants for big sizes in 1980...but now the largest size they make of this type of pants is no bigger than size w39.
Go on a diet bro
Whos wearin levis rn?
Me
I’m wearing the shoes:))
I laughed when I saw how giant they were
notification squad where you at?
Leslie Gomez hereaaaa
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Wow huge Levi's lover
Y r they so big
lovetaryn xo Really? Watch, listen, and pay attention you'll find out.
Tat2Dragons smh why do people just comment without watching the video.
Clorox Bleach I have no idea. lol :)
Tall big guy.
It's most likely because they were probably seen as an expensive brand back then and back then if you weighed more it showed you were wealthy because you could afford more food.
You can make ten pairs of todays jeans out of this one
world's oldest baggy jeans fr
They probably weren't shrunk since they've never been used nor washed. 😮
Pre-shrunk denim was probably a more recent invention.
Levi!!!😍😍😍😍😍
Huh
his tie looks like a fish.. its not ironed?
wow...
80,000? SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nah they just washed sum 501s
I feel special when I wear my premium pair of 501's 👖👖👖
Interesting
Now this jeans in malaysia
Wait the real Levi were invented by Jacob Davis and sold by Levi Strauss. Check it out!
That goes to show you they don't make things like they used to everything now is made cheap but cost way more quality don't count anymore. Made cheap but cost way more I have plastic bowls and other things that still work. Craftsmanship don't count any more
They just found an older pair in a mind actually three but a total of seven jeans Levi's known to exist three of them the oldest in the world even older than the ones you're showing
Plot twist: AHH LETS ROB IT
makes millions*
Wow .
I'm happy to know that slaves weren't forced to make Levi's.
YOOOOO TUCSON NMMMNHHH
Western_Tea hell yeah!!!
‼️‼️🙌🙌
Who would wear this?
Those look pretty dang modern to me, im guessing the pair is highly refurbished
Nope. That's quality selvedge denim right there.
@@lancetti4843 the original selvedge

Why does the the brain ignore the second the
Because we scan and our brain automatically removes unnecessary/redundant things to be more efficient
Jesus Christ just imagine the freaking drip dude, it doesn't matter if you're a triple x Butterball you're getting all the hotties, seriously dude doesn't matter if anybody else is wearing like all this Versace special fit clothes, this guy is literally wearing the oldest pair of jeans in the world.... you don't compete with that it doesn't matter if you stole bumblebees legs you still lose.
