From Earth to Any Planet for FREE?

    I read about you few years before, I think it’s very interesting. Have you calculates the shortest time to go from a planet to an other, for exemple from earth to mars, with almost no delta V burning ? I guess that could be interesting for heavy probe or spacecraft if the time of the travel is not the first parameter ; or maybe to deviates asteroid for mining or send it near earth.

      It's a great question! The result I show for Earth-to-Venus is by no means a lower bound (you can see in the plot that the trajectory 'backtracks' a few times). We just were using an initial computational method to see what we get. Earth and Venus are very circular (low low eccentricity) so our circular restricted model is rather good there. Earth-to-Mars is complicated by Mars' non-trivial eccentricity and it's significantly smaller mass. We haven't done a calculated for that more realistic situation yet, but it's in the works.
