"The Russian attack at Ocheretyne has been crushed". Then he immediately talks about an impending Ukrainian withdrawal near Ocheretyne. Ukraine needs people to wake up to how dangerous the situation is, so they can start pressuring their leaders to send more weapons. Cope does nothing but help the Russians.

Look at the map of Deep State, the village of Ocheretino is completely captured by Russian troops. There is not a single intact building left in Ocheretino. Zelensky's government “forgot” to build defense lines. The last stronghold since 2014 was Avdeevka. Instead, Zelensky and his henchmen want to send as many people as possible to slaughter. You won’t believe it, but they are still making landings on the Dnieper islands. The senseless murder of Ukrainian soldiers.

So get on the other side of the river with the rest of your forces are. Don't stick out like a thumb when you know that the Russians are going to be consolidating & organizing their major lines and supplementals.

The problem with Ocheretyne, and the nature of probing attacks in general I guess, is they didn't really have a plan in that direction - they just took advantage of an opportunity gifted them with no real idea of the end game for the assault and it's just kinda fizzled out without them really gaining anything of note. Just increased their vulnerability in the area.
The rumoured Kharkiv and Sumy offensive is more bluff to drag UA forces into the area and away from the active front line - even the most optimistic of Russian supporters would surely concede that taking Kharkiv is waaaay beyond them at this time.

If Russia focus on more than 3 fronts then it will be very overwhelming for Ukraine as they will be attacked from several directions with a mighty Russian fist and it will be extremely difficulty to hold. What you are failing to take into account is both passive defenses and that Russia has to strongly outnumber and have more material to succeed on the offensive. They can do it if they hit Ukraine with everything at one spot, but they can't do this at three spots at the same time. Ukraine has better intelligence and will just divide their resources equally to address each threat.

      @thiefsleef6752 Před 29 dny

@@Gwyrddu Yes, Ukraine used the exact same strategy as Russia, but their failure came from the lack of abundant resources to carry on. Although the tanks and infantry fighting vehicles Ukraine was utilizing were modern and expensive, that also meant that they were limited. The increasing losses of the leopard tanks and Bradleys, which were easily destroyed by mobility kills, made it clear that Ukraine was unable to continue its counteroffensive. But for Russia, a literal war machine, can continue to grind through because of how cheap their army is. In a long-term war, a cheap army will outlast an expensive army.

If we add casualties with it it's around 200k (US source from 18 august) vs 409k which is again the 2 to 1 ratio but probably more around the 1.7 to 1 ratio since the Ukranian numbers are old.

Big things can be seen from a distance: Today is the inauguration of President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, taking office is not just a ceremony, this is the most important constitutional procedure. Its main meaning is the oath that the head of state takes to the people.
During his service as President of Russia, Putin proved his devotion to Russia by deeds and formed a high standard for the work of the head of state for many decades to come. Russia, under President Putin, has gone through a difficult path of revival and development, becoming today a strong, sovereign state that is respected throughout the world.
But it was not always so?
After the collapse of the USSR and the irresponsible actions of politicians in the 90s, devastation and economic decline reigned, people were abandoned, social obligations to citizens were not fulfilled, and there was a war in the Caucasus. The Russians could have lost the Russian Federation, but president Putin saved the country. He revived it, restored state capacity, and ensured social and economic development. President Putin is Russia's advantage.
The consolidation of society around the Russian President will continue to lead the country to new victories.

Well that's just sad. Just a couple months ago, you folks were saying that Avdiivka is a small, inconsequential village and Russia wouldn't bother with it. Then when Ukraine beat them bloody for it, you folks treated Avdiivka as a turning point, as though gaining the bombed out ruins of a village was a great strategic victory. And then the same thing was repeated Ocheretyne. "Oh it's a pointless village. Russia just wanted Ukraine to waste its ammo, they don't need it", then then it was captured, and suddenly Ocheretyne was yet another 'great victory for Russia'. And again the same lines with Bohdanivka, as though Chasiv Yar was Kyiv itself.
And by the June peace conference, I wonder how that will sound when Putin tries to sue for peace, losing 400k Russian souls, the loss of dignity for Russian military might as countries cancel their orders for Russian munitions, and Russia gains two new oblasts that are severly depleted, and putting a NATO state right next to its border, the thing they were trying to prevent in the first place.
But don't worry about that. Revel in the victory at Bohdanivka. Tell yourself that Russian citizens are not afraid. For they are not. They are seething. Furious that Russia has been bled dry for nothing.

I have been predicting a new front being opened eventually either coming out of Belarus threatening Kiev and Lviv, or if Belarus balks at their country being used a second time, a new front coming from the Belarus/Russia border area threatening Kiev and Kharkiv since the fall of last year looking towards this summer. The reason is fairly simple. It has the highest upside for Russia. It lengthens the front. Any lengthening of the front benefits them. Threatening Kiev is optimal because it will divert the dwindling supplies and manpower even further. Lviv has been the supply hub. Russia is boosting numbers and has shown very little concern for casualties thus far. They are all in. If Ukraine shifts to protect the north, the Russians will use what they have in the east to further gain ground. Spreading Ukraine gives them the numerical advantage they already hold but makes the Ukrainian forces even thinner wherever they choose to attack. The defense holds the advantage for casualties; however, the offensive side chooses where to fight. Ukraine cannot mount any real offensives, so they are forced to react to each push. Any repositioning will be monitored, and that area that is shifting troops will be targeted.
The optimal plan is launching through Belarus for many advantageous reasons, but I do not think Belarus will want to risk strikes on its territory to combat Russian staging areas, roads, bridges, and rails they will need to use. Either way, it is so obvious that I hope Ukraine has spent the entire last year preparing defenses already for it. The Ukrainian allies will have to allow the use of the most advanced long-range weapons and anti-air to make sure they negate the Russian air assets and strike them wherever they gather forces in preparation. They will have to hit them before contact at all costs to negate those advantages. That requires the will of the west (Ukraine has shown they have it in spades), and the signals so far have been really poor from western leaders.

They have been amassing foreign troops for awhile, as well as doing mass promoting their “amazing gains” that they are making and so currently the recruitment is up. It will end up a problem. But with all the new packages UA is receiving lately, and all the current talks of additional ones, they are also having a surge in finding more men, and people coming back to fight. The problem is though Russia still has an additional like 10-20 million men they could mobilize if the people allowed them too, Ukraine is down already to its last few million possible/active men. The longer this war goes on, no matter how many weapons Ukraine receives the worse it will get. Thats why need an emergency coalition fund between NATO and the EU to form an additional $250b package, including hundreds of jets, and dozens of top tier AA systems, and everything proven to be the most effective in this war. While also tightening restraints against RU and there trading partners. If Ukraine doesn’t get additional massive additional weapon packages before 2025, including at least 100 F16s, then in reality the only hope will be RU collapsing. Which may take longer than everyone wanted it to. As they can realistically stay afloat preforming these kind if operations for about another 5 years. UA sadly cannot.

Ukraine is losing badly and doesn't have the resources to sustain the fight forever. fake sanctions (the West still buy Russian crude indirectly and knowingly) have done little to hurt the Russian economy while the Russian war machine is in full swing means the economy is actually on the rise. that can happen in a totalitarian state like Russia whereas the civilians are being forced to work non stop for no pay or very little pay for the Russian war machine
on the battlefield, Russia is out producing the entire West 3 fold in artilerry shells and that's with Western production at full capacity. yes, some Westen countries have begun to increase that capacity (for their own sakes,) but it will take a few years at best to ramp up production in any meaninful way and Ukraine will fall long before that
moreover, the tactics that were lastly used in Avdiivka (and many other places before) , spefically those involving the huge FAB glide bombs are something Ukraine and the West have no counter for. Russia has added even bigger bombs to it's arsenal and those 1 ton glide bombs into a defensive position means the end of that defensive position
unless Ukraine somehow manages to down the bombing aircrafts, the Russians can just rinse and repeat that tactic. they will start in the new front they are a-massing forces for in the attempt to take Kharhiv. it will be a summer offensive that will start probably sometime in May but certaiinly no later than June. just llike Ukraine's failed summer counteroffensive of last year - the Summer is best and most viable time for offensive operations in the region
the Russian summer offensive will be very successful and will achieve many gains
i'm not pro Russian by any means! the Russians are committing the worst kinds of atrocities imaginable (just like Hamas in Gaza) but this is the reality and this channel is def pure copium
with an advatange in resources, 5 or 10 to 1 in Artilerry, air superiority and those horrible glide bombs - there is no feasible way for Ukraine to win and they WILL be defeated
this channel acts as if none of the things I just stated are true, even tho they all certainly are

“Analysis of satellite images shows that the bridge, which Russia built after annexing Crimea in 2014, has almost no military cargo traffic and therefore may no longer represent a significant military target for the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” the article says.

Concerning Kharkiv I think you didn't manage to comprehend the scale of forces needed. Back 80 years ago, in WW2, Kharkiv changed hands several times. The scales of these battles was something along million soldiers, thousand thanks, thousands artillery pieces. With hundreds thousands casualties, if not millions. Today Kharkiv is bigger than 80 years ago, moreover there is deep elaborate underground metro network, so even nukes won't help much. Can you imagen storming metro underground? I think russians need at least 10 million (yes, millions, at minimum), ten thouthand tanks and still, it will take dacades. I think without nukes, they'll probably fail anyway.

Just a little more context here. Avdiivka cost Russia 50-60,000 troops and thousands of pieces of artillery for a small town of 29km2. Just the city of Kharkiv (not the entire oblast) is 350km2 and a sprawling metropolis. Kharkiv oblast is 31,000km2. Russia has been unable to take Ukraine's tiny bridgehead in Krynkii which has little more than 300-500 Ukrainian troops. For even more context.... the last 100 days Russia has lost 94,000 KIA/WIA, 11,000 tanks/IFV/APC/Vehicles, so if Russia is stupid enough to devote 50,000 , even 100,000 men to its Kharkiv effort, then they're in for rude awakening.

Forces from Russia’s ‘Western’ group seized the village of Kotlyarovka in the north of Ukraine’s Kharkov Region. The settlement is around 25km east of Kupyansk, described as a key Ukrainian logistics hub, the capture of which would allow Russia to advance directly on the city of Kharkov or support further operations in Donbass. Also, Russian Forces took control of the Donbass village of Solovyovo, around 40km northwest of Donetsk. Solovyovo is near the key supply hub of Ocheretino, a village captured by Russia on Sunday.
Russian missiles continue pounding Ukrainian military and industrial facilities that support the operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the frontlines. In particular, on the night of May 6, a series of Russian strikes were recorded on the border Sumy and Kharkiv regions. Explosions also thundered in the Dnepropetrovsk region and the western areas of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Ukrainian authorities confirmed damage to some energy facilities in Sumy. As a result of the attack, the Ukrainian military could no longer transfer military equipment by electric locomotives via the railways to the war-torn regions.
The constant Russian strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities put severe pressure on the heavily damaged energy system of the entire country.
At the same time, aircraft of the Russian tactical aviation are pounding Ukrainian military positions near the frontlines, assuring the further advance of the Russian troops in different directions. Damage to the Ukrainian rear assures the rapid Russian advance on the battlefield.
On May 5, the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed full control of one of the main strongholds on the northern flank in the Avdeevka direction, the town of Ocheretino. Moreover, the Russian flag is already waving over the village of Arkhangelskoe located nearby. The town of Novokalinovo is also under Russian control, despite Ukrainian attempts to counterattack. Russian forces are expanding their zone of control to the south, battles have already approached the outskirts of Novopokrovskoe.
The Ukrainian military is trying to determine the direction of a further Russian advance. The town of Pokrovsk to the west was turned into a fortress and large forces continue reinforcing the defense. The Russian army may continue offensive operations towards the village of Nova Poltavka to the north in order to cut the road between Pokrovsk and Kostyantinovka. In the case of success, large Ukrainian forces deployed in the area of New York risk being surrounded from three directions.
The rapid development of the Russian offensive from Ocheretino deprives the Ukrainian army of the opportunity to build a long-term defense and forces it to constantly counterattack with insufficient forces, losing their precious reserves. The Ukrainian military is trying to gain new footholds under Russian fire in positions inconvenient for defense.
The Ukrainian State Border Guard has reported capturing a man dressed in women’s clothes as he tried to illegally cross into Romania, according to a statement and video published on the service’s website on Monday.
The guard stated that the 44-year-old man, who is a resident of the city of Zolotonosha, presented his sister’s passport at a checkpoint in Transcarpathia Region while wearing a skirt, an “unpretentious fashion bow, makeup and a wig.”
However, his disguise was immediately blown when he approached the border control, according to the guards who mockingly called him “charming Sergietta.”
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Border Service reported on Sunday that the country’s authorities are stopping more than 100 people from leaving the country each day now that Kiev has ramped up mobilization efforts.
Hungary Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjen told Hungarian broadcaster ATV on Monday that Budapest “would not extradite refugees to Ukraine.” “We do not investigate whether, according to the Ukrainians, the person is conscripted or not. Based on basic humanity, we will not allow them to be sent to their deaths”, as Kiev intensifies efforts to mobilize more troops for the army.
President Putin on Monday ordered a snap exercise in the use of tactical nuclear weapons in the Southern Military District, which borders Ukraine.
The drill is intended as a warning to the U.S. and its allies not to escalate the Ukraine conflict any further, both the foreign and defense ministries in Moscow emphasized in public statements.
While the West has accused Russia of making nuclear threats on multiple occasions, Moscow’s nuclear doctrine was spelled out in July 2020 and remains unchanged, the Kremlin has repeatedly stated.
The purpose of the drills is to iron out “the practical aspects of the preparation and deployment of non-strategic nuclear weapons,” as well as to strengthen the readiness of both equipment and personnel, “in order to ensure the integrity and sovereignty of Russia,” the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.
Russia’s tactical nuclear arsenal - Warheads with yields measured in kilotons of TNT - such as the weapons used by the US against the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in April 1945 - are now considered tactical nuclear weapons. They are intended for use against battlefield targets, whether field formations or hardened combat positions.
Tactical nuclear warheads with yields of 5-50 kilotons can be mounted on 9M723-1 ballistic missiles or the 9M728 cruise missiles, both fired from the Iskander-M complex. Similar warheads can be carried by Kh-47M2 Kinzhal and the Kh-32 cruise missiles that are carried by Russian bombers.
A number of artillery systems can also deliver tactical nuclear warheads in the 2-2.5 kiloton range, installed in 152mm shells and 240mm mortar rounds.

If Russian forces truly are preparing for Kharkiv, this is an effort to gain territory to eventually bargain during a ceasefire deal. Also, this will force more Ukrainian troops to front lines when manpower is lacking. How did Alexander of Macedon defeat Darius at Gagumela? Stretch your enemies lines and look for weakness. Russian forces can open up Kharkiv front to stretch Ukrainian defenses lacking manpower and then pour in with all they got toward Chasiv Yar to ultimately take Kramatorsk/Slovyansk.
At this point, if NATO troops enter Ukraine, that will put tactical nukes on the table to be used within Ukraine, and strategic nukes elsewhere. This is truly an escalation to the next level.

The Russian strategy was extremely effective around WWII and/or underequipped forces. If the opponent has no AoE weaponry and only a semi-automatic single-shot riflæe like the Garant it's extremely effective since the Russian army would always trade up.
Against a properly armed force with modern weaponry, it's just an amazing loss of manpower to get anything from and the trade will almost always be bad.
It's a clear indication that the Russian army has never really changed tactics or strategy since WWII. BNATO has, without being aware of it, been slowly outpacing first the USSR and then Russia for the past 50+ years because the USR and then Russia have been stagnating militarily.
