- In anticipation for the return of the engine I start the repair of the front end. First is ball joints. The Milwaukee impact is amazing - ordering new parts .... whew - A cool slow motion clip :)
Brought this old video up just to see how you got your rusty lower ball joints out. This video definitely helped a ton!
Great video !
Thank you Brody !
hahah gotta love dealing with rusted parts, good job on getting them out and being creative
Bullshitkorner thanks my brother - a hammer always is an advantage eh ? Thought about just welding a junk socket on but that worked ok too.
starting my ball joint tomorrow....thanks for the tips....still need one of those Milwaukees...awesome impact!!
They are sweet ! Good luck Bro !!!
Another great video Dave I like it when you show a lot of the work like that I'll be looking forward to some more for the weekend Have a great day brother
MrKeithm71 Thanks Keith !! ball joints are fun - LOL
He laughs where lesser men would despair.
Man! That impact is ridiculous lol. Keep the videos coming man, awesome job so far!
I know Im blown away by it. thanks for the kind words :)
you are not drinking near enough beer for this project! !!
Is call w2-40 lubing my friend...it make life easy ...and heat....don't have to bang and brake your arms..... Yep 👍😁
Man!! You need some PB Blaster!!!
I just want to say DO NOT HEAT THE BALL JOINTS. they have a tendency to EXPLODE. Check out some of the videos on CZcams. Otherwise nice video, I appreciate seeing a fellow rust bucket
great job buddy, keep the great videos coming
doug janusch Thanks Doug !!
You have some awesome tools! Love your videos. When I turn on youtube it's the first thing I look for. Keep up the good work!
Thanks bro should have another one Sunday
Just a thought. Leave a nut on one of the ball joints when you break it loose so it wont fall. Then hold it up and remove the nut.
Also that little ball peen hammer is a bit light. They break loose when struck hard where the tapered end of the ball joint goes into the knuckle. The fast hard shock breaks them loose.
Being from the rust belt, I use Nevr-Seez on everything !! Makes it so much easier to get apart the next time.
You should be sponsored by Milwaukee! But great video love the channel
George Foster Thanks George - yeah Milwaukee should throw me a bone eh ? lol
Sorry I haven't been around much on here just been real busy over here. I think our Jeeps are evenly matched with all that rust. My Jeep TJ is an 05 and man over the past few weeks lots of stuff with it has been going wrong went over a bump and blew my end links out then took it to a shop to refil the a/c and they said there's an electrical problem with the a/c it will cycle 3 times then turn completely off and they said there's a slow leak and now the thing is taking 6 seconds to start on a cold start but fires right up when warm. Hopefully a job pops up soon just because if it's a fuel issue I don't know what I will be battling on that Jeep droping the tank. My TJ is the definition of Just Empty Every Pocket lol. I like the progress of your Jeep.
Chris07860 Sorry Chris you are experiencing the "Jeep Syndrome " :) One thing at a time right ? Hope you get the kinks worked out !
nice impact very strong
Came for the lower ball joint socket size and still don't know. The way she goes.
This guy looks like Randy Quaid from “Vacation”
That impact is amazing! Looked like that front axle was bent? Not sure in the angle. Wantin for more. Mike
Yeah it is amazing actually I don't think it's bent I'll have to take a look at it again ;)
Try some kroil oil or miracle oil.
I think you might do better holding the hammer further down about 6 inches. Holding near the head doesn't give your swing a lot of leverage power.
Ii paint under my LJ as part of routine maintenance. This is why....
Whats the volts on the Mil Impact Gun? I have the DeWalt 9.6 Impact and it sucks!
18 volts of bolt crushing power :)
Appreciate the vid, but every time you hammered on something without any eye protection, it was cringey.
I hear ya thanks for watching !
