Huzzah, a man of quality!
It was covered in EDHREC how Trostani and Ghired play differently despite sharing the same keyword mechanic "Populate". Ghired let's you run cards that promote Aggro while growing your board state at the same time whereas Trostani leverages lifegain to win using cards such as Felidar Sovereign, Test of Endurance and the "Death Star" Aetherflux Reservoir.
14:50 "Turning them sideways" would be wrong since Rhonas gives everyone vigilance :p
So does Akroma's Memorial. They had double vigilance.
When maxime revealed the island from Etali I felt that.
It was an Unstable Island, so at least he got a nice view of it
that sinergy with changeling and hakkon was pretty cool
Max here, My spicy Marchesa knight list is playing Crib swap too, sadly not many more knight instants in the game
@@HaseoTCG That's what I'm doing with my Gwyn, though instead of entomb I'm trying out Buried Alive just to get access to a couple more creatures for more mana
@@sagusvalivian I run both, entomb and buried. I also have shenanigans in my list for entomb. ( dredge destroy artifact.)

@@HaseoTCG Have you thought about the '.....of Velis Vel' cards because I know the blades and shields versions are in your colours, blades is red and shields is white, and they're changelings too so the knight interactions work with them.
Theres also some changeling creatures like Graveshifter, Cairn Wanderer, Irregular Cohort and Changeling Hero that Haakon could help abuse too.
That Surrak deck was nasty. I think there was a definite mistake hyper focusing on Maxine when other boardstates were getting way more out of hand, especially when Dom was getting mana doublers out.
i agree my deck is very strong but for the most part of the game i had an empty hand i just lucked out with my top decks big time

When the Mirror March entered the battlefield the Genesis Hydra wasn't yet on the board, so when it entered, it should've triggered it. It certainly didn't changed much, but it would've been funny
Dom actually mentions that in the game, but since it'd be zero we felt it was unnecessary. I probably should have mentioned it for the sake of accuracy.

For example, if there were cards that cared about creatures entering the battlefield, i.e. Purphuros, that would make it matter.

@@tmakalpha1 No terminus in his list and the players at the table talked about Cyclonic rift for a while but that wouldn't have changed much as dom had more than enough mana to replay everything while the others didnt.

Nice, I play a Surrak Dragon Tribal list and I've been debating turning into a Temur Good Stuff list. Honestly, this was a really good showing of a deck that doesn't rely on the commander but certainly benefits from the commander.

With the Genesis Wave, I believe that he can order the stack any way that he wants so they should have gotten riot triggers
I was a Trostani player, but now I'm in love with Ghired, the acess to Red is really amazing. But now I want to see your version of It!
Not in this video, but my version has Nomad's Assembly. Go wide, brother. Also, play End-Raze Forerunners and Mouth//Feed the turn after you use it to deck yourself and lose. It's pure dominance.
Giant Adpephage is just a fun card to be honest. I like it personally, mostly just cuz I like to put an insect creature into every deck I have and it occasionally fits in nicely.

I think Dom put the cards he revealed from Selvala's stampede that weren't creatures in the yard instead of shuffling them in.
Also forgot to draw from Selvala seeing a big Hydra entering the battlefield. But I'm not sure if it was the biggest creature at that moment, so I could be wrong.

Syr Konrad would be an interesting addition, providing you another way of closing out the game when attacking isn't viable.
Dom's opening hand is beautiful.
Giant adephage at least has trample to actually connect. I'd consider wayfaring temple if it had some kind of way to get damage through

Hey Muddstah, I was going over this video and didn’t Dom had anger in his graveyard by 13:38? He could’ve used the Rhythm of the Wild triggers anyways giving all creatures that entered by this point +1 counter and still have been able to attack thanks to Anger being in the graveyard?
I once top decked a eldrazi conscription playing aleyla which abled me to close out a 2 1/2 to 3 hour game lol

I dont think anyone caught it at 8:45 when resolving the Selvala's Stampede, Dom places the revealed cards from it into the grave, but the deck and revealed cards are suppose to be shuffled.
you're right i did missplay there thankfully that didnt impact the game too much
Doestn regal behemoth makes dom the monarch as iit enteers, as well needing the monarch to doubling his mana so when max hitted him, he lost the doubling mana as well not being able to cast terastodon?
Dom already had nine lands when he cast Terastodon.
Where is the Surrak decklist?
I feel like around the 8:56 or so mark Dom makes a mistake resolving Selvala's Stampede. You dont put the revealed cards into the graveyard you shuffle them in.
Also maybe its my hate of Mardu owing to Edgar but that Marchesa deck kept making me so mad hahahahah

So at around 12:40 when dom casts genesis hydra, the ability is on cast and he puts out a mirror march which is on ETB so he should’ve flipped for it
You're correct, but it would enter with no +1/1 counters and would therefor die immediately regardless of the flips. We skipped it as there was no impact on the game whether or not he succeeded.

Zedruu is kind of being outclassed by Elsha and Kykar at the moment.
What's with the hate on Maxime most of the game? He was land screwed and had the least board presence. I don't understand? Is Alela that strong?
I think it was just aggro focusing someone down, you kinda have to be brutal if you wanna win with combat damage when life totals are 40

Max here, Yeah gwyn is hot garbage, sadly. Knights aren't too powerful a tribe to start with so dilluting it with equipments and a bad 6cmc commander just sounds like a bad time. Plus Queen M is on theme and gives me card advantage( much needed in the worst commander colors)
@@HaseoTCG GWYN is strong as a voltron (at mid power)but not as a knight deck general. And black as a bad color? It's legit the strongest or second strongest in EDH hands down (blue is arguable). I like Queen for the theme, draw, and just adding a bit of political fun while also playing into my token subtheme that inadvertently sprang up.
@@ms.sysbit5511 I disagree, I think qwynn is way too slow to be viable as a voltron since she offers no protection, no haste, and just abit of evasion, and the pay off for going voltron on her is quite bad. As for the two best colors of commander they are green and blue, followed by black, but most of blacks power comes from extremely unfun/unfair cards or just tutors. ( ad nauseum, necropotence Dtutor, Vampiric T etc. )
@@HaseoTCG Yeah, but Marchesa does literally nothing for knights and is not a knight herself. Gwyn can be very powerful, if you have the money to build the deck that way. If you have a few swords and a sunforger your knight deck certainly gets more impact.
@@darksteelmenace595 A six drop commander, with no immediate impact on a board, she is really a 'win more' commander, she's s slow,situational, has no protection and needss very speecific scenarios to be 'decent' even her payoff isnt that great. even if you pour all the money in the world into that deck, I don't think its very good. While marchesa isnt a knight she give you something you desperately need when you card Quality is garbage( knights arent good.) she gives you card quantity by drawing you multiple cards through the game for a low mana investment.
And while she doesn't have knight synergy, the monarch itself encourages the knight playstyle. ( IE. Punching people in the face with average creatures. ). Even if she isn't a knight, she and Aryel(which is a knight) are the two best commanders for a knight tribal deck hands down, depending on if you want red in your deck or not.

Dom had Anger in his bin after he sacced it to Greater Good. As long as he had Anger in his bin and controlled a mountain, all of his dudes had haste.

the reason i focused more on him was that his commander was a huge threat for me i could barely block it and had no removal in hand
Selvala didn't have haste and couldn't have tapped for that 9 green mana. Also Dom swung his Genesis Hydra the turn it came out when that didn't have haste either. The rhythm came out after both of those so neither had haste. It's too bad because the game could have gone a LOT differently.

I'm not sure if casting Cyclonic Rift on a board with so many ETB creatures would've been a good idea... especially a board with Eternal Witness, Genesis Hydra and a graveyard with Genesis Wave.
Also, any board wipes he might have would have to hit Dom's enchantments and/or exile/bottom the creatures instead of destroying them.
yeah he thought about it but i was able to recast everything or mostly everything and the gen wave in my graveyard was gonna get picked back same with a wrath effect my greenwarden would've gotten me the same card but i had a doubler on board so yea
I run planar cleansing to super reset the board of all non land permanents

No, they will not. Riot is replacement effect, not trigger, so Rhythm should already be on the battlefield to give creatures riot.

Yeah, this is counterintuitive because it's different from triggers:
614.12. Some replacement effects modify how a permanent enters the battlefield. ... To determine which replacement effects apply and how they apply, check the characteristics of the permanent as it would exist on the battlefield, taking into account replacement effects that have already modified how it enters the battlefield (see rule 616.1), continuous effects from the permanent's own static abilities that would apply to it once it's on the battlefield, and *continuous effects that already exist* and would apply to the permanent.
So they enter with riot, but it doesn't work.

The point of those cards with ghired is to turn them into tokens, or it should be. Tokens that replicate themselves, even through combat, are invaluable
That's why I want to add blue so I can use Progenitor Mimic and Spark Double. They're pretty killer together, especially on something like Kalonian Twingrove. Or SD my commander, and PG mimic the "non-leg" copy. Plus Helm of the Host gets me two of them a turn and if they're as kick-ass as Ghired, they just destroy shit with a several populate triggers and making my board hard as hell to break without wiping completely.
tldr: I need a WURG token commander!!!!!!
@@jiralishu I agree that adding blue would be amazing, though just adding red has been quite great for tokens though. I love my blue copy token cards, but find the red token cards are quite great. I love the thought of ghired partnered with brudiclad, too bad they can't partner
