- This is what they used to look like: web.archive.or...
There elevators were originally made by Schindler, but were recently modernized by Otis, who retained the brainlessness of marking floors by colors, but at least improved the layout of the panel.
This is certainly a unique elevator, especially with the weird sounding motor.
I can’t believe this video is almost 15 years old, wonder what it looks like today, some great memories you may have on that thing.
Nice Elevator
This is a HUGE improvement over what the inside control panel used to look like. I think there is a picture of the old one floating around on the Internet somewhere.
When was the picture of the Schindler elevators token
I remember the old Rike's/Lazarus parking garage in Downtown Dayton OH also using colors to designate its levels. It used the old-style indicators. It was torn down summer 2002 and replaced with a low-rise garage for the new Schuster Arts Center.
@dea41396returns I brought up the possibility of it being a Gen2, but did not actually say it's a Gen2.
Wow. This is the first elevator i've seen where the position indicator doesn't give you an idea of how high up you are.
I was hoping someone could get a video of these. These (mindlessly structured) elevators were made famous by a feature on an elevator panel page, which you have noted. God knows what Schindler was thinking for the originals and OTIS seems to have cleaned up the concept, despite it being completely bizarre. They were really determined to use this colored scheme because they actually took away the classic floor indicator and left their marquee indicator they normally offer as optional. Weird!!
Never seen an elevator like this!
Wow that is the weird floor labeling I've ever seen. Same with the display and motor.
there ya go with your brand/type ASSumptions again...
it sounds like a motorroom-less elevator!
Haha just thought of this video again looking at old elevator videos, this was always funny how they did the floors.

It's been one of my favorites ever since I saw the pre-modernization panel.
P-L-A-S-E another retake from this parking garage elevators!!!
Nice elevator
@revo8778 well you're calling it a gen2
Green level = level 7?
Black level = level 6?
Red level = hospital 5th floor?
Tan level = hospital 4th floor?
Purple level = hospital 3rd floor?
Orange level = hospital 2nd floor ("BR" at north parking)?
Blue level = hospital 1st floor?
*Yellow level = ground floor?
Pink level = level B1?
White level = level B2?
Brown level = level B3?
the Yellow level has the ground!
Brown level = level "B3"!
Green level = 8
Means "what the" followed by "you know the rest."
The elevator is very interesting
when it said brown level it sounded like it said ground level, by the way it is really odd to see a color coded floor panel
The footbridge (orange level) has access to what other buildings?
@dea41396returns Excuse me, but this WAS IN FACT a Schindler.
Should have the number AND the color. Did the old indicator look like that?
I doubt that the old indicator had both the numbers and the color, I think it was just the color
way are a no main lobby?
the main lobby has the yellow level!
Large parking deck.
ROC Elevators Colorful
What Series is the OTIS Elevator?
I heard the motor.
Might be a Gen2. They may have ripped out all of the Schindler stuff.
Definitely not an MRL elevator.
Here's a better idea. "Ground floor. Yellow level. Going down."
lol color levels never seen anything like that why no just numbers
The sound and Display is out of sync. This elevator is weird too.
whats white??
I do know that yellow is the ground level, brown would be B3, and green would most likely be the 8th floor
