This song is about grief and different phases of grief. It is also about runaway from that things/thoughts, but also realizing you can not runaway all the time and in some moment you need to return to life. It is also about finding soft place to fall = place where you can comfort and "repair" yourself. And her songs are always with message and open for interpretation. Anyway i love her music :).
The video was shot near by her parents house outside Bergen Norway. When she have the sea in the background, she is actually standing in the backyard of her parents house😀

It's a beautiful music video, the first of her that I've seen (after watching a live performance with Wardruna, where she is their guest for a song, "Helvegen"). It made me dig deeper, but what really got me hooked was her live performances. "Runaway" at the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert is perfect to discover her that way, it's her first performance in a very large hall... You should really react, or at least check for yourself. After that, you should react to "Murder song 5,4,3,2,1" at the same venue, she sings a song of another genre and another instrumentation ( youtube doesn't seem to agree that I give links...☹). Yes her English Diction has always been Crystal, a little known secret is that when she changes to Norwegian her voice morphs into Divine, Aurora's English Diction is so Beautiful because it isn't the Complex words she Accents so beautifully, it is "to", In, The, etc., the simple words bathed in her Valhalla Accent, her Accent blends into her English like Linguistic Harmony, I have not heard anyone like her in over 50 years. Interviewed her voice borders on Hypnotic. She is Quite Unique, only one Aurora.
