I listened to it in one sitting, with head phones while high and BOY was it an experience. I was completely immersed and fell in love with it instantly! Billie's voice, range, lyrics and her brother's immaculate production; it's quickly become one of my fav albums of all time and I'm getting it on vinyl ASAP!

Lol I did the exact same thing with both this one and her debut but it's the 2nd listen. Getting colossally baked and sitting in a park with some good headphones is basically my Billie Eilish ritual. IMO what makes both albums so great is the details and idk about you but I really notice and appreciate the minutiae of her voice and (especially) Finneas' production when I'm in that mindset.
A lot of my favourite albums I haven't really liked until they 'clicked' and with both Billie albums (bc let's be real Happier than ever is already a fave) as well as albums like Loveless, Deathconsciousness, Punisher and some of GY!BE's best work that 'click' happened with the assistance of bud and good headphones (and ideally like a lossless FLAC version, but I'm pretty sure that's placebo)
10/10 recommend.

No hate at ALL! Anyone can still have their own opinion about Billie if you don’t like her that’s OK but I just want to talk about how she isn’t queer baiting. Queer baiting is when a character in fictional media is marketed to be queer, but then isn’t actually, or is queer to benifit the plot it’s a marketing technique used to bait queer people into watching or reading the media even though there’s no actual queer representation.
Billie it’s not queer baiting because she’s not a fictional character she’s a real person who doesn’t owe anyone a label on her sexuality also speaking of labels just because she said she was straight a couple years ago doesn’t mean that can’t change sexuality changes for a lot of people and she’s allowed to experiment and be unlabelled or just confused so can we stop using the word queer baiting thank you ❣️💕💗

Yess! like this album is definitely a back to front experience, it doesn't really have any singles apart from therefore i am
I think 'overheated' is about how she's annoyed by the reaction to her showing the 'not my responsibility' clip at one of her shows. Because she talks about how everyone was laughing, snapping pictures, and screaming at her taking her top off in the clip instead of actually listening and taking in the message behind what she was saying. It's the same tune with added beats and it's directly after 'not my responsibility' on the album.

@@Luscent well she done the right thing by making 'not my responsibility' a track on the album because now all of her fans that didn't get the message will when they listen through the album. I would have been pissed too tbh because the reaction she got from her own fans just proved that the message said is true and she really can't win.

I was pleasantly surprised by this album! Wasn't the biggest fan of the majority of the singles but they work really well cohesively in the album, makes me appreciate them a heck of a lot more. Great reaction, also if I was hungover I probably wouldn't have gotten any words out at all so well done!!
Just a fun note, the dog growling in I Didn't Change My Number is her pittie Shark. She wanted to feature him on this album too since he's a part of her life so much. Also, oxytocin is a hormone that you feel when your feeling really good. It's definitely NOT a drug.
To this day, I still bump oxytocin every single morning. Probably one of the most underrated on the album!
This was the first video of yours I’ve seen, and I must say that this is an absolutely fantastic reaction/review. I think your interpretation of each song was very thought out and thoughtfully put, and the fact that you were very focused on both the lyrical content and the production of each piece let us know that you really wanted to give this album a serious chance despite having those fears that it wouldn’t meet the standard the last album of hers met. Thoroughly genuine and retrospective about it all- I’m glad you took the time to appreciate her art. I’ll be sure to subscribe. :)

Have already been on your Spotify but I j use have to say one of my favourite things to watch on the internet is reactions to people who listen to music I love! In all of the reaction channels I’ve watched you are so open and honest about opinions and feeling but your emotional side makes it super watchable and enjoyable. I think humans crave human feelings in a way we don’t quite fully understand and you give that to me so much. Watching these videos we have so many similar opinions and thoughts on music which I think brings people together more than anything else.

I love how experimental the production sounds all the time, it kinda reminds me of "Everywhere at the end of time" at some points. It's not something I'd listen to often but I'm amazed by it!!

Your voice is wonderfully soothing and I love the way you describe your thoughts. This album really surprised me. I knew I'd like it because Billie has sort of a direct pipeline to my heart but I expected it to be a tangible lull from the first album. After dozens of listens, however, I think it's honesty and vulnerability in combination with the adventurous musical choices makes it a small step up. It lacks some of the reckless and infectious creativity that the debut had and isn't stacked with hits, but i think it does something more pure in that it truly feels like a window into the artists heart and soul. Don't get me wrong, WWAFAWDWG? had plenty of emotion and truth, but a lot of it also felt like characters and teenage silliness (which i love as well). For me, what I'm always looking for in art is honesty and vulnerability and I don't see how she could have done better. I can't wait to watch her and Finneas create for years to come.

Loved your reactions!!! While I am miffed how Billie is not at all addressing the drama around her ( I always considered her a very honest and upfront celebrity), I do love this album. I have loved every single one of her projects. I miss the danger and darkness of When we all fall asleep, I love the old hollywood glamour aesthetic and feel of this album, both sonically and visually.
I interpreted her previous album as Her depression singing to her and this one I interpret as Billie singing to FAME as well as her ex boyfriend. Her disillusionment with the guy she was dating is also a perfect parrallel with her disillusionment with music and fame.
Also, Not My Responsibility is a short film she released in her previous tour because of the media constantly discussing her body and clothes. She kept it in this album and then Overheated is a song based on the exact same music of the short film/ monologue. This song is about when the paparazzi released some pictures of her in workout clothes during covid and some people started calling her fat. (Imagine calling an 18 year old fat on the internet..... the lameness)

Oh my goodness, I hate the way people have been throwing around the word "queerbaiting" in these types of situations. Queerbaiting is something that applies to fiction. It's when creators hint at LGBT representation or even promise it, but then never deliver. Can we stop acting like this is a term that can apply to real people? Just because Billie is not open about her sexuality, doesn't mean we're allowed to label her as straight and then call her a queerbaiter. Even if she identified as straight there's always the chance she could be in the closet... because she's a real person, not a fictional character a group of creators can make gay or straight. She is nineteen for goodness sakes and she should be allowed to explore her sexuality. The only questionable thing she's done has been dating a man with a problematic past, nothing else.

It’s really starting to bug me when people bring up finneas like Not to discredit his work but like there are no other artists where we mention their producers. At the end of the day billies music sounds the way it does because she approves of it, not because he helped create it. Billie and finneas are separate artists. She deserves the credit for the way her music sounds.

The album is cute. Its a growth album which is expected after blowing up. Like Lorde’s Melodrama. It has a mixture of styles. The videos, photoshoots and overall everything about her is to show growth and coming into her own.
I like what you said about a lot of it. My take away was “awe that was cute” but this week had better releases, like Yola’s Stand For Myself and Jim Lauderdale’s Hope and Logic’s Bobby Tarantino III.
Speaking of, you need to listen to both of Yola’s albums. You will LOVE THEM.

So NDA it’s not about the music industry it was about her fear of staying famous after a stalker showed up at her front door seven times in one day being run off every time by her security to the point they finally had to call the police because he was yelling obscenities and making gestures of slitting her throat and threatening to kill her and when they asked him why he was there he said because he was Satan and he had to meet her he needed her so they got a restraining order he cannot go near her property any of them or any counter or any meat and greet and they blurred out any personal address is associated with her or her family and blurt out the houses so if you put it in your GPS you cannot find it end it made her world so distorted looking that she couldn’t see or hear straight and now if you go to anything with her you have to sign an NDA saying any videos pictures conversations anything that happens does not leave that party or that event or her house or anything and the line about you couldn’t save me but you can’t let me go is talking about how her security and everybody couldn’t save her from the psycho showing up at her front door but they can’t let her go because they fear for her life and they just want to protect her it’s really cool that and happier than ever are my top two favorite songs
