    I was in college and walked into a PP dealership just for giggles. The sales agent even handed me one or two models to actually hold in my hands without my asking. Either I looked like some millonaire's son or just customer service is that nice.

    After owning a GMT and OP for almost 10 years I wanted to get myself a Hulk for my 60th birthday, about 2 weeks later I came across a page about high end clones and decided to give it a try. Once came I compared it to my original GMT (in terms of quality, feeling of the steel etc), I understood one thing, China can't be beaten. There is no chance ANYONE will be able to spot it as a fake, Even the inside movement is identical. The build quality and finish put a lot of legitimate Swiss brands to shame. So yeah, there is no reason it costs 1m Pounds.

      A few possibilities in my mind
      1) a person has so much money that a million dollars for a watch is a rounding error.
      2) someone who thinks this will appreciate more and be worth 2 million in 10yrs (I’m not sure with how large production numbers are, especially Since I don’t think the Nautilis hype will last forever and then I think Patek will bring it back.

    I received my first Patek as a gift recently, a Calatrava, and of course I’m incredibly grateful given it’s a £30,000 watch, but frankly the quality is surprisingly poor. It doesn’t have hacking seconds, the date window isn’t always perfectly aligned and both the time and date take a frustrating amount of turns of the crown to adjust. As someone who owns a Lange (which genuinely is incredible in person), I am pretty shocked by how overpriced Patek is in comparison.

    • @AndreUtrecht
      @AndreUtrecht Před 2 lety +1

      Well if you are a real photographer you'd know you can make world class photos with any analogue camera. Even with a disposable camera. This Pentax here is a 35mm camera? 35mm analogue out performs a full frame digital camera. All depends on the photographer behind the lens. The photographer does the work not the camera. A real photographer would know this and would appreciate vintage analogue cameras like in this video. If you're that dependent on a camera (or photoshop for that matter) you're not a good photographer. That being said: Pentax is still around. Making digital cameras. A medium format Pentax these days costs 5000.

    Do people just want and ‘like’ them purely because of the price and status. If you really look at it it’s not actually that nice.

    What is the weight comparison to the lange31? Cz I felt Lange31 in platinum is so heavy its quite potent to use it as a self defense device.

    Has Roman or one of his mate's just chopped in their ill gotten gains? A watch being worn, a car being driven...you are in apparent awe...whatever next? This watch scene is getting absurd.

    Looks like someone bought a watch to use it and enjoy it, not having it hidden in a box. In my opinion if you buy it and keep it in a box its probably to expensive for you. Whats the point in having something you are scared to even look at just so it stays in perfect condition.

    Most people wouldn't know what this watch is and care even less. They know the name Apple and Rolex and anything else is too much effort to understand. I guess it depends who you spend time with and how shallow you/they are. For the price you could get a beautiful 30 unit limited edition A.Lange & Sohne Handwerkskunst or two.

    To understand just how big the watch is, just compare it to the size of your hands! 😵
