    Thank you very much Yogu. Your videos sure do help a widow turned motorcycle mechanic. Really sucks having to take on this job but I refuse to give up riding because I lost my soul mate and master bike builder.

    Thank you so much brother. My 2012 Dyna Wide Glide just went through this exact same thing with that same model battery, only difference was both of my terminals were melted. Realized that I completely forgot the brass spacers and was trying to figure out what I did wrong. Thanks a million for the vid!

    Good Stuff Yogi. There is another issue that could rear its ugly head later on. Loose connections, at the battery, starter, or ground could cook the alternator or components of the charging system. They will work harder and over time shorten the life. Dirty, rusty, grounds, and undersized battery cables could also create issues. I know many starters have been changed because of loose connections or bad grounds.

Thanks to you, I will be buying another battery so I don't light my crotch on fire. My genitals and I thank you, sir.

      There’s a lot of reasons why that could be happening. This time of year the cold really effects the batteries. Here is a article that lists the top 7 reasons and may be a good start point for you. www.firestonecompleteautocare.com/blog/batteries/things-that-drain-car-battery/

    I recently bought a brand new car battery, and before I installed it, I accidentally set a flat screen TV on top of the battery.
    I didn't realize the plastic TV stand had a metal plate on the bottom of it, which caused a connection between the positive and negative posts, which caused both posts to partially and unevenly melt away.
    I'm looking to rebuild the posts somehow. And I'm thinking of wrapping tinfoil around the posts as a mold and filling it with some type of metal to rebuild the cylindrical shape. But in not sure what metal to use.
    I'd like to avoid melting lead and pouring it into the tin foil mold surrounding the posts.
    Is there anything premade I can buy (like liquid solder or something similar) that will work to remedy this situation?

    • @YogisCycleService
      @YogisCycleService  Před 5 měsíci

      Yeah not sure I would recommend that. You might want to search on CZcams and see what you find. I am sure it can be done but looks kinda sketch to me. I haven’t done it before. I would just replace it honestly which I know stinks since you just bought it

    • @warkmard-dw4dw
      @warkmard-dw4dw Před 5 měsíci

      It's a $200 battery, and it works fine. It just has short uneven terminal stubs, which I noticed today is causing big time corosion buildup. I'm not spending another $200.
      I thought about melting the metal off of another dead battery I have to replace the metal. But was hopping for a easier solution.
      I'll figure something out.

      I suppose if you can form it up and melt lead you can make like a weld on the corner then retap the threads. Might work. Never tried. Not sure I would reccomend either

    What are my chances of the supplier warranty-ing my battery in this condition...

    • @YogisCycleService
      @YogisCycleService  Před 4 lety +1

      Dave Howard If they supplied you those little brass inserts and can prove that you didn’t use them probably not good if they did not supply you the brass inserts I would say possibly pretty good. But that is personal opinion, and with an extra $1.50 might be able to buy a cuppa coffee
