- In this video recorded by Ross IELTS Academy, we share an IELTS Speaking Mock Test of a candidate with a band score of 6.5. We have inserted the examiner's feedback and the reason why she got that band score at the end of the video.

It is true
Dont.ıt varies from coubtry to country, person to person in speaking test that you are talking. I speak 8-8.5 band score and my everything was perfect, actually even better than listenee, i got 6.5 :)

Today i had a mock exam, my result is 6,5 in speaking part so that's why I'm here watching this candidate's speech, we have kinda same minuses like pauses, some errors but that might be because of nervousness, her ideas are good i like it

Thanks, this is the most realistic mock test I've seen, so just used it in my class. However, there are some unrealistic parts, especially taking the Speaking Part Two task back before the candidate starts speaking (it is always taken back when they have finished speaking, which is why taking notes is optional), and the examiner's reactions being too positive (they mostly just say "OK" and "Thank you", to stop the candidate getting feedback on how well or not they are doing, never "Very good" etc).

I thought that I won't even get 5.5 in speaking. But after watching this video I got little bit confidence. I'll have a real IELTS exam after 3/4 month later and if I can prepare myself in better way perhaps I could get 7+. Which is target.

to be honest in my opinion she deserves 5.5 because of the so much "Aa,Aa" in all her three parts although she use somehow good conjunction and vocabulary

My certification level is B1 but the examiner speaks English very good and quite clear, so that I can understand 95% about what she is saying...I would like to take that assessment one-day.

Why did the examiner took back the cue card at 5:45 before she started talking? I think in the original IELTS exam you can still see your cue card while speaking. And you give your cue card to the examiner at the end of part 2. Isn't that correct?
It depends on an examiner, actually, sometimes you have your card until finishing second part, but sometimes not. It is totally okay

During the exam, the examiner gives you a cue card, a pencil, and a piece of paper for you to take notes. After a minute of preparation, the examiner will get the cue card back (however, some examiners just let their examinees hold the cue card while answering.)

Honestly i can related to her speaking alot, I did an online mock test and I have the same issue of uncontrollable “um ah” fillers and nervousness..
i have tried alot to reduce it in past week… i have actual test tomorrow kind-of worried but hopefully it goes well..

Watching this i think i can get at least 6 for speaking, I did the test 3 days ago and i did exactly like her talking very fast and messed up here and there. But i didnt pause my speech and keep going even though i lost my idea in the middle of talking.
his speech is perfect, even from mine. By the way I got 7 band from speaking

Is it possible to get 7.0 from speaking some minor mistakes in grammar and some repetition in lexical resource .
But if you have fluent speech but some hesitation because of ideas and good pronounciation?
Please keep in mind that the speaking test isn't all about your fluency, there are three others, too. So, if you have problem with fluency, make sure you have a good grammatical structure, lexical recourses and pronunciation.

What score is given if a candidate confidently gives wrong answers? I m he/ she remains enough easy and confident but he doesn’t word high vocabulary / exact answer of the question.

I did my speaking part yesterday and my examiner kept on stopping me before I could show off and express my self.part one and three questions I was answering in less than 30 seconds.why would an examiner rush the interview that much

i will give this test at age of 17 haha am planning to go abroad for my undergrad
She did a good job in all of the parts however, part two was even better that compensated for the inaccuracies and mistakes in the parts 1 and 3.

i feel lucky becouse watching its clip
now i know i will got band 7 - 8 on speking test
I got 113 in toefl (27/30 speaking section) but a 6.5 band in IELTS speaking though I showed great fluency and lexical resource during the exam, the only drawback was that some of my answers were short hence I feel the examiner's assessment of you can sometimes be totally flawed.
The criteria aren't the same in TOFEL and IELTS. I see you have a good command of English, maybe you had stress or something.
