I think Minato guard team functioning more as a evacuation team to help civilian/other shinobi to escape with their flying raijin if Konoha is under attack or in a war battlefield. Since he clearly doesn't need them to transport him anywhere. The benefit: -Keeping casualty low (or even non existent) -Releasing 1 burden from Minato shoulder, because he doesn't need to help everyone to evacuate all by himself (he can even focus on the battle)

The only way i can see hashirama getting killed is for the enemies not only working together to make a very eloborated trap but also maybe had konoha's people as hostages to let then kill him or something. Since they gone to boruto, i actually hope they would explore sode stories and prequel to show us more of madara, hashirama and other ninja's. It be nice to see more of what they can do. I really alwant to see a full fight between madara and hashirama (both in the fight when hashi defeated madara and then the rematch when they were both ressurected). Others like tobirama who is extrmely powerful would be nice to see. I mean tobirama created so many jutsu as counters, vastly intelligent yet has a very different mindset and personality to hashirama makes it interesting. There's actually a lot of characters that we unfortunately never got to see their abilities. Shisui is a good example, he hasn't shown anything in the manga really, his abilities are almost all fillers by the anime. We only know about kotomatsu but it be nice to see how he fights etc. A lot of characters should get nore screentime just so we can see what they can do
