The TJB songs found a perfect niche. They had bright, uplifting melodies which were infectious and "hummable" by ordinary people without musical training. Kind of "everyman's" music. I was in high school band when they hit it big and they gave burgeoning rock bands a run for their money. One year they outsold The Beatles, Frank Sinatra and the Rolling Stones!
