Great tips, I agree with all of them except for 3 and 4.
I have ordered some Pops from Funko themselves and other places like GameStop and Crunchyroll/Funimation and I've gotten a few Pops that were lose in their plastic holders and had bad paint jobs/some light bends like lightning effects.
Yeah paint issues can be a major thing on legit pops as well, have dine an update video on this since which is more update to date with a side y side comparison of the same pop, it should be in the pinned comment.

Hey, just got myself a new loki tesseract pop off of ebay. The overall box looks fine however the pop inside isn't 100 percent sturdy and moves if the box is tilted sightly forward. Can genuine funkos do this is or is it only fakes that do?

Nice video, 1 year ago I also got the resident evil licker fake funko pop but now I know how to tell the difference between real and fake.

I have just the nemesis that is real, and have learnt and Jill that are fake, bot managed to get some of the others yet mainly due to some of the prices so ended up building up other collections
Unfortunately you canât spot fake in the website. Such as Amazon and Ebay. Even though the price is ainât cheap. Is expensive than the original price some more.
Sometimes you have to take the risk, ebay is good though as you can message seller for more photos as proof, amazon i know you can message but I don't think the can send you images as a reply...even then it is still a bit of a risk as maynot be legitimate photos of theirs.
Thank you i just bought Leon last night and I was worried, but the code a symbol identical to the box, which indicates that it is original right?
Sometimes the codes are alittle different but must the time they are exact it sounds like to me you have a real one :)
Should the code on the Pop match the code on the box? I just bought a few pops that have matching codes with the box and then some that donât.
This is a good point, I have looked into it and though my experience has shown that they match, they can also vary, the stamp on the pop is the pops production date, the stamp on the box is the manufacture date of the box, you would think that they should match, but doing some research has shown these can actually differ.
So the main thing to check is that it does have a printed code on there somewhere, I have yet to see a fake one that has a printed code of the pop figure itself.

Hi!! I ordered mine from amazon for 20 euros. I'm from Europe so I can't tell how much dollars that is. Is it okay for the price and that I got it from amazon?
ÂŁ20 euros is about right depending on the pop, was it a standard 4 inch? If it was from amazon direct, no issues, if from the market place just got to check what is in the video but if a newer pop I have a 2021 update on this coming out on wednesday.

I donât drive so I have to buy mine from Amazon but I always check reviews and who Iâm buying it from
I would still be careful as the images on amazon are normally thier images and not images of the funko the person is selling, this is what has caused many people to for example want one with an amazon exclusive sticker on it as that is what image shows...but then the normal version to turn up instead
What if the code on the bottom is on a sticker? I've noticed alot of older Pops being sold on ebay and Mercari have a sticker with the code, but still have the Funko logo on the bottoms.
Some do some dont i think this is an older thing that funko did as I only have 1 I think if I recall correctly that has a sticker for the code on the bottom, as long as everything else is in order then it is all good, but if you are still unsure I would be happy to have a look at it for you if you want to send me photos on Instagram @twistedgeekuk
I have Sora KH3 and Aqua. They have everything EXCEPT the âgamesâ logo under pop đ
Feel free to send me over some images via Instagram and can take a full look at them for you,, some of them do not have that on there, even if real, and a look at these pops it seems these are one of the ones that do not have that under the logo.
I think in this case it could be due to the category could fit under multiple genres so was left blank, some of the new loki pops are the same :)

Does the serial number on the box and the figure have to be the same? I bought the figure from a trusted store and the figure turned out to be exactly the original (good paint, detail, smell of vinyl, all the information on the box is correct and there is nothing suspicious), but the serial number on the box and the figure are different. I even noticed that in one video review of this figure, the serial number on the figure is exactly the same as mine. In addition, I watched two more people who made a video review of this figure and their figures also have the same serial numbers on the soles, but different ones, not like mine. The box is new (2024), the figure was released in 2016.
Some of the older pops definitely had this issue if serial number son box to on the pop being different, new ones from 2024 not sure as I have stopped collecting pops
It might be worth returning it to the store or exchanging it for a new one, although it is still original. In any case, thanks for your answer âșïž

Hello, I have a question: If a Spider-man 395 has the FAC code and the marvel sign(©MARVEL) on both legs is it original? Thereâs no things like made in ~~~ on his leg.
I bought it in Ukraine so can the signs differ?

Based upon what you have said it seems like it is real, the funko pop logo on the front the yellow pop should also have a white dot fade in that logo, double check that for an extra check as alot of the fakes do not have that proper fade in the front logo

Hey thanks for this!!! Ordered a Nemesis off of eBay for ÂŁ35 and it was real, then i ordered a Jill for ÂŁ65 and it was fake. Its so hard to tell sometimes đ
It is, and sometimes I don't know if people havnt realised what they have is fake before selling or if they put the price at the current trending price to disguise it.
Though not long before recording this video I didn't know either, I still have that fake Jill one on my shelf as a reminder

Yes some of them do have them on a sticker instead :)

yes there can be, i have just got my hands on another one and i am doing an updated version of this for 2021 in the next month comparing 2 of the same anime pops, as they are getting tricker with how they fake them lately
On da Pop bubble logo dint says "game" like da real oneđ

Are funko pops from amazon ok to buy?
It all depends on the retailer, if it is coming direct from amazon themselves then it should be. If from a 3rd party seller then no as its not regulated and the images you see won't be the sellers this has caused people issues with not having the correct stickers on etc
I don't mind the fakes as long as they look good. If your buying to sell or keep as an investment then defiantly buy the real ones.
Yeah if your buying just to have because you like it then yes fake ones on sertain pops can save you a fortune, but I agree if your looking for it to be an investment or may want to sell later always best to check if it is real, tha k you for watching :)

Depends where you are located, I am.in uk so best places imo is pop in a box, forbidden planet, geek central
I have a Ymir from attack on titan Funko pop and I canât tell wether itâs real or fake, the code is there, the box is fine and colours are all good, the plastic on the inside of the box is fine and she fits in it perfectly but sheâs really light and the plastic sheâs made of seems a little different than my other ones I compared her to, the paint job on her is also fine I just want to confirm
The funko pop logo on the front, check to see if it has 1 the word animation under it and 2 if in the yellow word pop you can see the little white dots fading from top to bottom, if so and along side what you have said it sounds real to me

I got mine from Facebook Market place the bottom is different then all my other ones I compared it from one I got from target the "games" icon is discolored am only 3:03 minutes in in this but ill edit this
Some of the bottoms can be different, the older pops the logos and the code sre normally bigger than the newer versions. Also if you sre unsure, check the logo on the front of the box the yellow 'pop' does it have white dots in the top fading down over into the yellow?

Are all Ali express pops fake?
I have not experienced ali express ones and most talk I hear is about wish or ebay, though I do know that ali express seems to sell alot of bootleg items based on friends etc telling me things they have ordered.
I would double check the prices and check them against the pop directory app as well as checking if they are showing basic display photos or actual photos of the box/pop on a table not just a white background.
I would definitely approach the idea with caution from ordering from there and maybe try local shops, or funko online/Europe etc to ensure authenticity.

I have not used whatnot before but they are meant to be decent and are meant to help prevent fakes being sold, but that doesn't mean that there isn't fakes being sold on there by people. You can always send me photos on twitter dm or insta and will take a look for you

I would normally say some of you local stores that also buy and sell funkos is best as you can fully check it over in person before you buy.
If it is a grail, out of stock or vaulted funko them local stores are best.
If not and it is a new released pop then places like pop in a box, pop culture, ozzie collectables sell real funkos

are real funko pops manufactured in Vietnam or China?
If I recall correctly they are made in China, if you are unsure if one you have is real or not though I am.doing an updated video in the next month or you can send me images via instigram and I can check it over for you.
Unfortunately as well a lot of bootlegs also come from the places the originals are made, but thats the case for any country that manufactures a product and not just funko pops. So always have to be careful when buying from unofficial retailers

All of this guys observations but he makes zero mention of the Funko logo on the front not having âgamesâ printed under the Funko logo. That is really common with fakes but all the code checking and nonsense is just a waste of time. Anyone thatâs collected for a long time knows that Funko QC is a complete joke. Bad paint jobs, smudges and inconsistencies happen all the time with real pops. The only two things you need to check is does it have the âpop seriesâ (games, movies, music, television, etc..) printed under the Funko logo on the front and if the plastic inside the box is too thin and very flimsy. A real pop will always at least have those two elements correct. Funko re-released the Freddy Kruger pop and âthe nightmare on elm streetâ was missed in the front of the box. Again, they are 100% Authentic just horrible QC on Funkos part.

I believe you didn't read the description you are only the second person to notice this and I left it in the description to say there is one other thing, people also need to make sure the look properly and that is not always the case and thats why I did it that way, I get alot of dm's where people have not watched and asking questio s answered in this video and my 2021 update video.
Regarding the plastic insert the fake ones are normally thicker than the real ones, multiple fake ones I have gotten to check this has been the case, though the moulding is not as good as the real ones
Funko can suck at inconsistencies on the pops painting wise, marks missed bits glue residue, but these are mass produced cheap collectables, these things are to be expected, though annoying not going to deny that.

if from China then its fake logic is basically racist.literally most of your pop chase,limited,exclusive and everything else is made from there or Vietnam,
I get there are tons of fake but you are judging the authenticity of a item by the country of the seller,thats not right at all.
I am a collector in Hong Kong and we don't collect fake pop and I never sold a fake one thank you very much.
