Why didn't they stick to the books? The first 3 seasons were pretty badass because they flollow the books but after that it kinda sucks... I still love and watch the show but the show would be a thousand times better if they stuck to the books!
The accents are horrendous. They sound like they are from Alabama not Louisiana. Plus the actors can't act.

Personally I would say yes, it's worth watching. I love this show. I think what the people who are most critical of it don't like is how "ridiculous" the show is. But let's remember, it's a fantasy show based on fantasy creatures in a town that doesn't actually exist. If you can suspend your disbelief and get into the story lines (which are legit good) then I think you'll enjoy it.

This evening I started to watch the first and second episode of the first season. I am so glad I watch this, you have saved me many hours of wasted life.

I watched this twice, and I've seen every season, and my mind is still overloaded lol!
Well, that whole show escalated quickly under five minutes. Now that's what I call a real vampire series! True Blood is so bloody freaking brilliant (no pun intended)! In your face, Edward Cullen-Who-Sparkles-In-Sunlight-Like-A-Disco-Ball!

A hodgepodge of drama for the sake of pulling viewers with little to no closure.

I was like.. there's no WAY they're going to fit a good summary into less than five minutes and then.. hot damn they did! Congrats HBO... makes me want to watch it all over again (for the fiftieth time) ;)

Sookie's really only reading the radio waves that emanate from brain activity. So she can't hear vampires' thoughts at all, because they're braindead, and animated only by magic, not electricity.

This all makes sense to me... mostly because for some reason when you watch it all it make sense. For anyone who has never watched it, your brain is most likely trickerling from your ears due to too much info at once and the crazy plot and trying to map out in your head how everyone is related and or knows each other.... I feel sorry for those people... I also realise that I must be insane or have too much empty space in my head to be able to understand and remember all that information xD
