    I do the same thing, I go to the store come home and then think what did I buy that would cost that much? I am cautious and Shop sales. Tonight I made spaghetti. I made my own sauce with tomato paste, Italian seasoning and other seasonings, making my own sauce yielded double what one jar would have. I put the excess in a glass jar and FrozE it so we have sauce for another meal.. my son said it tasted much better than any jar too😄

    Sadly it doesn’t take long to spend $100 anymore. I bought milk, OJ(on clearance), whipped cream(on sale), small box of 15 trash bags, 2 cartons of grape tomatoes, bananas, 1 Angel food loaf and 6 lg cans of AZ tea(on sale for $0.88/ea) and it was $50 yesterday! Just a few things to fill in until the first when my husband gets his check.

    My oldest daughter is 47 she had a problem with texture of some food's she could drink tomato juice but not eat a tomato. I never forced her to eat those items there are plenty of other foods that she would eat

    Great items but I agree that it doesn’t look like it should cost $100😢. Were you able to grow a garden, container or traditional?

      I have a couple containers but not producing anything really. :( BUT! I found a community garden!

      Its just not the season of life to try and push food pantries/mobile food pantries. Reasons coming up in a Q&A video that will be posted for VEDA

    Good morning my beautiful friend ♥I love Aldi's except that it is not close to use so we only go there when he has an appt. That usually happens on like the last day or two of their sale and a lot of the things I want are gone. On the other hand it saves me money lol! Do you look at their sales online before you go?
    I also love their fruit and produce. They have the cheapest milk and creamer as well. I usually get my heavy whipping cream at Walmart because I like to get the 1/2 gallon size. I always go for like 5 or 6 things and come out with many more. Love their extras like cheap chips that I have never tried before. We got some corn tortilla chips there awhile ago and they had the best flavor and texture! And I want to say I got them for like $1.19
    Considering the prices these days I think you got some good deals. I need to get some salad green of some sort. We went to the grocery Saturday but I took a hard pass because of the prices! We did get a package of the frozen Canadian bacon slices that I like to have on hand for homemade pizzas. We had just ran out and I was lucky to get some again for $1 each. I bought two. I also got a dolly pardon banana cake mix marked down to $1. I think I will try to cut it in half and make a smaller version of a poke cake using either banana or vanilla pudding. Its just the two of use so we do not need a whole cake lol!

      Meat is high! I was having a very hard time finding anything for under $8lb for beef last time I went to the store.

      @@SodbusterLiving I think it's smart to ask your local grocery store when they mark their meets down. I was at my Kroger Food For Less at 7:00 a.m. this morning and they had so much beef from steaks to roast markdown.. I got two big New York steaks and a nice beef roast for under $20

    Cheese, av. Oil, and organic macnchs are probably the priciest.

    • @SodbusterLiving
      @SodbusterLiving  Před měsícem

      THe avacado oil wasn't that expensive I think it was between $5 and $10 for it. Organic Mac N Cheese was .88 a box. Cheese was $1.69 a block. It just adds up :(
