You’re complaining that “The Impossible Lair” doesn’t try to live up to its title?
I thought this level would be easy with all 48 bees. It’s not.
yep, how very wrong we were.
I thought this going into it, after one go through in which I got about 43% of the way through before croaking I let out an audible “I WAS WRONG! I WAS SO GODDAMN WRONG!” to absolutely nobody in my house
Yup that’s what I thought but it was extremely hard. I finally beat it today with 72 attempts and finally got the platinum trophy for it
Mr. Crash good job! Honestly I have no desire to even put 20 attempts into it. I loved the rest of the game but I didn’t find the last level to be any fun.
And then theres the IMPOSSIBLE LAIR

I don't get it.. why the HUGE jump in difficulty? I get annoyed when games do that. There is no gradual build-up and it takes you completely by surprised and leaves you frustrated. If the whole game was more difficult then I would understand the natural progression to something THIS difficult but overall, the other levels were much much easier and they do not prepare you for this.

because its the "IMPOSSIBLE" lair what did you expect?
Also the other levels do prepare you for this, all the mechanics present on this level were from previous levels in the game, you just need to have played them to know how they work.
Then you will be prepared for this level.
@@bandicootsmwcentral2950 exactly. I cant believe so many people say the diff spike is huge but its really not unless they used the skipping checkpoint feature and ignore it when criticising the progression lmao what a joke

I got to this level and decided against punishing myself, considered the game completed as all the levels had been beaten, and then deleted the game. Superb game but the end is too tough for some, so thanks for uploading your successful conclusion.

@@greeneye2037 No, never thought the final level was worthy of my time. All other sections were completed very satisfactorily and the adventure was great fun, but I just felt the impossible lair section was too punishing to be any fun. My current game, The Last of Us 2 is worthy of several playthroughs and a completion on new game + at the hardest difficulty. Maybe it's more my style than Yooka...

I completed the game today and the last level was hell. Took me 72 attempts. Glad I got the platinum trophy it was a rough ride. I don’t blame for those who gave up because the stress and frustration was tremendous but I had to do it

Man I have to admit that I gave up on this level eventually.
While I do like the game and think it has some really good ideas(and I think the concept of the impossible lair is pretty cool), it just didn't connect with me and I simply found the impossible lair tedious instead of a fun challenge.
Watching this video is the only way I’ll ever see the ending.
Same. As much as I love this game (and I really do) I can and will never finish this level. Regardless. Still a great game and worth playing.
This is tougher than any DK Country game. I guess that guy wanted to take it up a notch. The same guy developed this game

Who else got Zelda Links awakening remake vibes when playing the overworld map? Great concept and ideas, better than yooka laylee 1 but the final boss here is depressing and impossible to beat. Need 64 bees.

how the last 2 minutes gives you 15% of percentage when the whole stage lasted like 20 minutes ?
This is a brilliant last challenge and reminds me of when you had to put effort into getting something out of a game. I did it 39th attempt but could have done it sooner if I didnt restart after a few messups at the beginning of the lair. Now I can do it pretty much every time with 15 odd bees left. Very very very good game.

HOW MANY TIMES YOU HAVE BEATEN THE IMPOSSIBLE LAIR?!
I try to pass it for the first time on Switch, after fighting Capital B for the second time (5 minute mark on this video) nothing happens and can't continue, but watching this video I can see why, the game don't let me continue, so I don't end raging a lot and end throwing the switch it to a window

I wish that falling off bottom of the screen and getting crushed is instant epic fail, even with all 48 Beetialions.
@@5434345 It pretty much already is, sadist. YOu get hit, lose a bee, and fall and lose a second bee you need later. Half the reason I've 49 attempts is because I've restarted the game knowing I'd need the bees later.
@@gamingawesomeness222 I mean even if you manage to get 30-40 bees closer to end of the level, any hazard that causes instant death in other levels ignores Beehive Barrier completely.

What's the point of a platfromer if you can make 43 mistakes without dying.
Well, it is really easy to make 43 mistakes and there are no checkpoint
If you want, you can enter the final level at the beginning of the game, without any bees
My problem is that there's SO many points where if you lose one bee, you'll lose two. Graze something by a pixel and get hit? you'll lose a second bee falling into the bottomless pit.
Yeah i thought the same and 5 minutes later i was standing there with just a handful of bees midway through the level
Completed both levels.. God damn that was hard.
