  • Hey Beauties!!!
Today I finally did the showdown between all the new powders that I got. Are any of them a La Mer The Powder dupe?
    Hope you all enjoy!

You were smart to get a few backups of the LaMer powder. Quite often the new and improved formula isn't as good as the original. Also, they may change the packaging to a smaller size. The Nars Light Reflecting Loose Powder is one of my favourites. I use it to set my under eye concealer. It's very sheer and light and not at all cakey looking. I also love that it doesn't have any obvious shimmer particles.

Love the freckles!! I just ordered the By Terry Hyaluronic Powder to use under eye based on your recommendation. I have mature skin so I need something that doesn't cake up or accentuate fine lines. I'm trying not to use too much of my La Mer since I didn't get a backup before they sold out. It drives me nuts when companies take great products that everyone loves and reformulate them - they never work the same!! I'm going to try the Lancome too.

Wow! You bought all the powders I wanted to try! When I finish my La Mer powder I will buy the By Terry one. Honestly I don't love La Mer powder for finishing, because I look "powdery". I only use for setting my concealer. The hourglass powders have chunky glitters (I have diffused light and I can see the glitters). All in all I'm still looking for my perfect powder that doesn't show up on my skin. So maybe the by Terry one is the best thing I can get.

You should try the Nars Light Reflecting LOOSE Powder. I tested a lot of different loose powders, and this was my favourite. It's very sheer and light and doesn't look powdery on the skin. Ask for a sample the next time you're at Sephora.

I love the by terry also for setting! It's sooooo fine and doesn't make my dry skin look Cakey or powdery. I keep trying new ones but come back to it again And again. I've never tried the la mer but hope they bring it back because I'm definitely interested. THanks for the great comparison!!

Have you tried the Nars Light Reflecting Loose Powder? It's really nice! I discovered it when looking for a powder to set my under eye concealer. I wanted something that wouldn't make my concealer look cakey and dry. This was my favourite. I haven't tried the By Terry one, so I don't know how it compares.

You need to try DuWop Mattillume Purifying Translucent Powder/ Lighter. It mattifies while providing a subtle luminosity to the skin. Most importantly, it diffuses the appearance of fine lines. I've been using this for year's. Not one powder has yet proven to beat this!! Can't beat the price at $36. Love your ink and that hair. My best friend is fully tatted. I have one but plan to get two or three more. lol

T.LeClerc is the French powder that got everyone over the moon for the Banane shade. They make an Abricot that has that apricot hue with light reflective brightening. It's nowhere near the price and easy to find.

I decided to get the Sisley Phyto Loose Powder in #4 for women of color. However, I found it way cheaper in Europe which was a great find. I was going to get YSL Souffle powder for $60 which does give a matt flawless finished. Lauria Mercier gives my under eye a very dry look but not my face, so I had to find another setting loose powder for my under-eyes. I also purchased My Luxury 1ST which hand makes their own loose powder for all skin tones. great video

A guy who works at my Nordstrom LaMer counter told me that they are not reformulating it but instead changing it to a smaller packaging along with doing something to their concealers, as well. He said the powder is sold out everywhere and that they pulled any remaining open jars ( I was trying to snag a sample) off the shelves. He said that it and the concealer are coming back this Fall.

There must be a way to contact La Mer either via their website "contact us" section or a customer service phone #. Then you can find out for sure if the powder is being discontinued or reformulated or repackaged. Put your mind at ease by doing that, what do ya think? That's what I would do if I loved a product that much and was hearing rumors about it being taken away. I hope for your sake that it's just a case of repackaging.

Puffins Wife I called and they said it's being discontinued, as you were also told. Additionally, I wrote them an email asking about it, and I never heard a peep back from them. Awesome customer service, right? I mean, their products are extremely expensive so you'd think they would really be on top of things from the customer service end, but sadly not in my case. I feel for ya, I know how it is to have a favorite product and then NOT have it. At least you found a close dupe with the Sisley (spelling??) powder.
