He offered draw in the 4th movement of the Italian opening. That's like football players agreeing to a 0-0 on minute 3 of the match. Why would anybody clap?

After Magnus moved Ng6 threatening the pawn at f7. At the same time the pawn was guarded by a bishop. So technically, no matter what the other person moves, he will be down by a rook. (Or queen if he would blunder it, which I doubt) and losing rook is a big disadvantage when you get to end game. Power of two rooks is far greater than one,,, so yeah, he just conceded right there.
I just explained this just in case someone actually doesn't know what happened, please don't r/whoosh me;-;
Actually He didn't conceed the match it was actually a draw. Magnus Had terrible stomach so he asked for a draw from opponent.
At The End The opponent keeps both the kings on respective colour square suggests its a draw.
If both Kings are at same color square it's a win for that Colour.
Here white and black king are in white and black squares respectively so it's draw

@@Conspiracy000 pieces on the chess board.
@@Conspiracy000 you killed me man... Wtf is a rook and a bishop
For those who are wondering what happened here and why the game ended in a draw so quickly -
On the fifth move, Magnus Carlsen moved his knight to g5, a move which is considered to be an inferior option for white, as it gives black an equal position.
As mentioned in the comments, it is also at this point that Carlsen offers a draw.
Vidit is visibly surprised (0:53).
Both players are in the top 25 in the world, (Magnus - World No.1, Vidit - World No. 24) and at that level, when you play with the white pieces, you don't give your opponent equality so early in the game, especially when you are the higher ranked player.
Magnus would only play this variation if he wanted a quick finish. (As in this variation you can enter the endgame quite quickly).
Magnus said after the game that he was feeling a bit unwell at the time (upset stomach). He was comfortably top of the table before the start of this round, and probably felt a draw was good enough for him.
Vidit was near the bottom of the table and maybe decided that a draw against the World No. 1 and tournament leader would suit him as well.
Moreover, it was a rapid/blitz tournament with multiple games in a day, so both players apparently were happy to get a quick draw.
I am confused g5 looks like the best move from that position(5th move) for white. I don't get the purpose of playing d4 right away as white cant black just take with the bishop and already equalize
I am a new player and just trying to learn some more about this variation on the Italian so if you know any videos or what it's called that would be appreciated.
@@boxingboxingboxing99 Already have and it was great :))
