Something can be atrocious and still have entertainment value derived from it. While I'll admit that Ashcroft is fairly competent as a singer, this song is so overly sentimental and corny in its patriotism (without a shred of irony or self-awareness) that it's more laughable than anything else. Unintentional comedy at its finest.

I would call it pretty average... at best. as far as the song goes, it's about as fresh as a 150 year old hymn. the tempo is as slow as it can be without coming to a complete standstill and the melodic and harmonic composition is about as flavorful as water. you could probably find more relevance in your daily horoscope than you can in those braindead lyrics
