When it comes to exploring Sri Lanka, there are some things you just can't miss.
If you're planning a trip to Sri Lanka and want to explore the beautiful hill country, then the ELLA ODYSSEY TRAIN is a must-try experience. This train journey takes you from Colombo to Kandy and then onwards to Ella and Badulla.
    Book your tickets directly here:
    seatreservation.railway.gov.l...
It’s cheaper than booking from anywhere else, it’s from the government website so you won’t get scammed. Collect your physical tickets from Colombo Fort Train station the day before.
Prices for the tickets from Colombo to Badulla are 4000 Sri Lanka Rupees. We’d suggest doing the trip only from Kandy to Ella (cheaper and shorter) 10 hours is really is a long time to be on a train
The scenic route offers breath-taking views of lush green tea plantations, cascading waterfalls, and mist-covered mountains. As the train winds its way through the picturesque landscapes, you can sit back, relax, and soak in the beauty of Sri Lanka.
Ella Odyssey Train is not just a mode of transportation but also an adventure in itself. It's a great way to immerse yourself in the local culture and witness everyday life as you pass by charming villages and bustling markets.
Whether you're a nature lover, photography enthusiast or simply seeking an unforgettable experience, this train journey through Colombo, Kandy, Ella and Badulla will leave you with memories that will last a lifetime. So hop on board and get ready for an incredible journey through the heart of Sri Lanka!
Be careful if you take any Instagram shots by leaning out of the train, its cool and looks great but we DO NOT recommend it, stay safe
Planning a trip to Sri Lanka? Don't worry, We got you covered with some handy travel tips! Whether you're a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveller, these tips will help you make the most out of your trip.
    1. Weather: Colombo has a tropical climate, so be prepared for warm and humid weather all year round. Pack lightweight and breathable clothing to stay comfortable during your stay.
    2. Currency: The local currency in Sri Lanka is the Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR). It's best to exchange your currency at authorized money changers or banks for the best rates. Credit cards are widely accepted in major establishments, but it's always good to carry some cash for smaller shops and markets.
    3. Transportation: Getting around Colombo is relatively easy. You can opt for taxis, tuk-tuks (auto-rickshaws), or even hire a private driver for convenience. Public transportation such as buses and trains are also available, but they can get crowded during peak hours.
    4. Language: The official languages in Sri Lanka are Sinhala and Tamil, but English is widely spoken in Colombo, especially in tourist areas and hotels. However, learning a few basic phrases in Sinhala or Tamil will go a long way in connecting with the locals and showing respect for their culture.
    5. Must-visit attractions: Ella Odyssey train from colombo to ella
    6. Food: Sri Lankan cuisine is known for its rich flavors and spices. Make sure to try local delicacies like hoppers (a type of pancake), kottu roti (chopped roti with vegetables and meat), string hoppers (steamed rice noodles), and of course, the famous Ceylon tea.
    7. Safety: Like any other city, it's important to take precautions while exploring Sri Lanka.
Keep an eye on your belongings, avoid walking alone late at night in unfamiliar areas, and be cautious of scams targeting tourists.
These are just a few travel tips to get you started on your adventure in Sri Lanka.
We give you some valuable tips and information for things to do and for traveling around the world.

Hi from the Uk 🇬🇧 we travel to SL July, do you think you got the food poisoning from street vendors or purchasing sandwiches? We were both very poorly in Jordan 🇯🇴 chemist said a local bug and never want to feel that way again. Hope tummy all good now. We bought antibiotics from Jordan and taking them with us

Hey Callum, how are you doing ? Thanks for watching, you will definitely love Sri Lanka. we eat street food from everywhere, without any problems, the food we had that morning, I don’t think would have affected me that quickly!! I would say it was from the street food we ate in Colombo the night before at Galle face green, it’s great but choose wisely as a lot of the food is cooked and recooked and cooked again (you’ll see what I mean when you’re there!!)
After that day I was ok, lucy wasn’t affected at all and we ate pretty much the same .
It could have been a bug also, but honestly I have NEVER felt so bad in all my life.
