Love this type of video! Great to see the pre-departure planning process as well as your thought process when enroute. For those of us aspiring to longer cross country flights (and in my case an IR rating), these videos are both educational and entertaining. Thanks for putting in the work to create them!
Awesome video! Your ability to interject the iPad screen onto the video really makes the video interesting. Really enjoyed the scenery shots and look forward to watching the rest of the trip!
Been following you since I saw the Foreflight / Garmin comparisons. I have just plugged the first leg of your flight into Foreflight and will be flying it in X-Plane 12 - thanks for showing the flightplan and the Foreflight screens in the video. an excellent series of videos showing these flights!
Enjoyed that (and your other videos) very much! Helpful to see your preflight planning and enroute decision-making. Do you have portable oxygen, and above what altitude or time at altitude do you tend to use it? Cheers
Thanks for watching! Yes, I do have a portable O2 bottle and cannulas. On days when I expect only a few hours of flying I'll start O2 at 12000'... on long flying days (this video series) I'll start using at 9000'. Wayne (DA40 KSBA)
Enjoyed this! I have a complete xcountry high on my wishlist. Never done it. Two questions: do you every tend to fall asleep on autopilot (I have the fear I would) and how tiring for the knees/legs is sitting for so long?
Hi, Jan. I trusted myself to close my eyes only a few times over the 4 days of flying... and then only for maybe 10 seconds. Otherwise, I kept busy enough monitoring everything and looking at options up ahead. I had no problems with the knees, legs or butt (you may remember that I use a seat cushion; otherwise the DA40 seats are too firm). Glad you enjoyed the video. Your friend Wayne.

A nice change of scenery (and weather)!
Indeed, and a chance to learn stuff we don't get here on the West Coast.
Agreed, great video. It was great to ride along. Keep the videos coming.

Wayne, I love following you on those epic cross countries. Curious, which oxygen system do you use?
Thanks, Alex. I use the following... bottle: standard medical O2 bottle, regulator: Sky-Ox 4-place, cannulas: Sky-Ox pendant style.
