Props to Snails voice actor, got me to utterly despise a dude who's face I never even got to see. The voice acting does an amazing job showing you how cruel, evil and genuinely *insane* the guy truly is. That "I AM ARQUEBIS" is a line that just won't leave my head, it is so memorable.
He also voices Astor in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. I wouldn't be surprised if the VA based Snail's voice off of Astor's, with how similar they sound at times.
my personal favorite is his lines in the 3rd ending during the ambush, I love the way he yelps when you surprise him. VA did a great job in all his lines, all of em did.

The scripted transition to the second half of Rusty's theme, in both the missions this happens, is such a small thing but it *really* adds to the voice acting and overall vibe of those moments. Game's chock full of these kind of moments.
It took me a little longer than I’d like but I have confirmed Rusty does call them Rubiconists at one point. It’s when he contacts you after you steal the data from Arquebus at the beginning of chapter 3. He only says it if you complete that mission as part of the story, not as a replay.
Whats funny if you use the tank treads especially wheel chair when you start the mission it feels like you just came out of the hospital ward.... just heavily armed... or what not
It depends on what you do in the mission before (Eliminate 'Cinder' Carla). If you kill VII Snail on the way, you get the "try to kill me" version. But since it's an optional fight, if you bypass Snail, you get the "try to ignore me" version of the voiceline instead.
@@ProfessorHeavy1i imagine the real 621 would ignore him since he's supposed to be emotionally withdrawn, 621 wouldnt hold grudges especially since you have to kill carla and chatty, emotions good or ba would just get in the way But i guess it could be argued that since u chose ayre over walter that you had to develop emotions to stop being loyal
This fight makes little sense lore wise since both Arquebus and rubiconians don’t want xylem crushed into coral. Guess Snail is just really salty over us killing/ignoring him (there’s no pleasing that guy)
I imagined it as a practical matter; offing the Raven on the Xylem is ideal both because the Raven is relatively cut off from reinforcements from the rest of the rebellion's forces, and as a means to demoralize that rebellion. I mean, killing this 'Raven' would probably galvanize the rest of the rebellion more than anything else, but Arquebus has the sort of hubris to not recognize that or to deem it a non-issue. Or maybe they get the chance to recapture and 'reeducate' the Raven, which would also probably just piss everyone off more. Granted, they have some basis for that hubris. The Balteus v2 model would be pretty devastating considering its mobility and firepower, then you have mind-fucked walter as well. So if they can delete you and Rusty (pretty much the only real threats left), they can probably deal with the rest of the rebellion pretty easily. From their perspective, anyways. There are certain *other* actors that they decidedly *aren't* aware of that would certainly complicate things.
Snail was there to stop the Xylem just like us. We just did it before he came, se he changed his objective to eliminating us instead. At the start of the fight, he said "The Xylem is doomed. Good, it would be most inconvenient to see our hard-won Coral to go up in smoke." Snail wasn't there to stop us from destroying the Xylem
@@grifcanon it confuses me why they let Walter out there. He did seem messed up when we fight him for sure, but his goal seems to still be the destruction of coral, which goes against what Arquebus wants.
@@joeaverage9772 to be fair, he was only loosed on the Xylem after you'd done everything necessary to make it fall. So the conditions were set such that even if his reeducation wasn't exactly stable, it wouldn't really matter. That said, it is kinda implied that he deleted Rusty, but I'm inclined to believe that either: (1) That was a super long ranged snipe Or (2) that was something else. Because it'd be kinda weird for him to seemingly come from the Vascular plant if he swung by to kill Rusty (since that was so much earlier as indicated by the environment). But maybe Walter was busy catching up to us, and for whatever reason somehow how got above and in front of the Xylem. I guess its reasonable in the context of trying to ambush you.
So much great characterisation in this game. There certainly is some in other FromSoft games I've played (which, admittedly, is only as far back as DS1), but nothing like you get in AC6.

Snail's death is one of the most satisfying in games.
Which really shows how great a job his VA has done. Both in characterizing him and in his death scream.
The JP one scared me a lil, it sounded really painful. Props to the EN voice actor too, I chuckled a little

the Japanese dub sounds more of in tortured pain in his scream. which is why i like the Japanese voice
