Of all these bands, I only knew Circus Maximus and Symphony X. Now I broadened my prog horizons. Also, you started this very well with Solid Vision. Great list man!

@@brayanrius2005 há uma diferença clara entre Rock progressivo (claramente os Rush foram os pais do estilo). Quanto ao progressive metal, os pais são o DT. Existem vários artigos e documentários sobre o assunto. 😉

Não estou discutindo nem discordando de você, até porque acredito que temos o mesmo gosto musical. Só acho que o Rush tem mais mérito que o Dream Theater, por vir com a idéia do gênero antes do Dream Theater, mas reconheço que o Dream Theater é mais técnico que qualquer outra banda de rock. Também gosto de várias músicas deles.

@@goranmetalman thx, tool sucks anyway. I never got the appeal of listening to a song that should have been 40 seconds stretched out to over 10 minutes. Unfortunately, they became like 50% of the gold standard for prog metal (dream theatre being the other, more melodic half) so every playlist other than yours is filled with tool wannabes
Symphony X is definitely one of the best metal bands of all time. I personally don't really like this song, but the quality of the song in this video really doesn't do it justice. Awesome band tho, Russell Allen is my favorite vocalist
