Constructive feedback from a long time watcher.... Please please please record your videos with a higher max volume.This has been an issue with past content but now that you are making this much longer content, its much more of a challenge. A higher volume allows the people who watch youtube on their smart tv's to actually watch and listen in a household where there are other sounds nearby. Also, with Simon's soft sentence transitional tone, it makes him easier to understand to non-british listeners. Keep up the nice work folks! And make sure you let Simon outside every once in awhile.
I agree. Also, the background music is very loud in places to the point that it drowns Simon out. It takes a lot of the impact away from what he's saying if you can't hear him.

Fun fact: a bunch of spy novels and spy movies were made based off the experiences of spies like Ian Fleming and in a few cases like one of the James Bond films they even had real spies as actors. During the cold war some spies got bored and their books were basically just fanfics of what they wished they were doing but some stories were written by guys who did real stuff like this during WW2.

Honestly, having boring elections is kind of a democratic flex. Shows a calm society that’s confident in the system and feels no need to take drastic measures. I’m kinda jealous honestly
That might be true in general, but I don't think it is true in this case. It seems like Britain is the worst its ever been since Thatcher. I would argue that the solutions have to come from outside of the major parties. Health care in crisis, and the response is at least it isn't as bad as America, like that is the only other choice.
It's boring because nothing will change. Native Brits will be left to they wayside as usual.

One problem with uk armed forces recruitment is that the high street recruiting offices were closed several years ago. You could walk into a recruiting office, talk to an actual member of whichever branch you were interested in, and potential be in uniform just a matter of weeks later. Under the new system one of those widely discredited contracting companies the government uses ( frequently at some financial benefit to some member of the government or their relative) is hopelessly inefficient and completely not fit for purpose. The process takes months, by which time many potential recruits have gone off to do something else in frustration.
As soon as a protest turns violent, it's not a protest. It's a riot.
Riots are related to a protests. Rioting is kind of like protesting's less friendly cousin. A riot can be done with a fervor of resistance to something much like a protest. However, it does not meet the qualifications to be a protest and has consequences far more dire than a protest. More often than not a riot will galvanize the rioters' opponents. It will make them all the more willing to perform an action the rioters didn't want. The collateral damage of the riot will also bolster the ranks of the opponents.

When mindlessly scroll through youtube a new situation room will always make me pay attention. Always appreciated succinct reports on strories that need to be talked about more in the mainstream as a rule.
What concerns me most is not what Simon is reporting on but how most of the comments seem to be more concerned about his music than the actual content, especially what’s happening in Sudan and the attacks on shipping
That's one thing that does bother me about some of his videos. Like half the top comments are about Simon's clothes, jokes about how many videos/channels he's on, or complaints about something petty like the music or a mispronounciation
Well the viewers have some level of control over the music. There is nothing they can do about Sudan however.
Sound guy: Learn how to use a compressor. It makes dialog audible when you ramp up the music.
Something is up with the audio in this one, all the S sounds are really sharp and pitched too high.

I would take issue with your description of Russia and Gaza bitterly dividing the Republicans and the Democrats in the US. The centrist Republicans and the centrist Democrats largely agree, and we just saw a significant Progressive, Jamaal Bowman, get unseated by losing his primary to a centrist Democrat, with the Gaza issue being a main issue of that contest.
On the other side of the aisle, the more conservative arm of the Republican party does take issue with US support for Ukraine, but the fact is, the Republican Speaker of the House passed that aid deal. Only about half of the Republicans in the House voted against it. If the Ukraine issue divides anyone, it divides the Republican caucus more than it divides Reps and Dems.
Our Presidential debates might be a nightmare, but the degree of US polarization politically outside of Biden vs. Trump has been greatly exaggerated.
Absolutely. I do worry about the institutions of the Democratic and Republican parties trying to push their members to conformity. There are enough reasonable people for a consensus if the moderates from both sides joined on a bill. It tends to make them unfavorable within their party though.

I often watch several videos back to back and the audio quality can vary wildly. It's likely different teams working on different segments or channels but surely they can make sure that the quality microphones stay with Simon?

I have noticed it is far more common (than others) in CZcams clips or other output from UK with irritating high background music. Mood before content it seams.
