Great analysis from Llordo. What the hell were the Crows defence doing

How the hell Mark Ricciuto is still in his job at the crows is beyond me. So many of their problems over the last decade are becasue of him but he just keeps skating along.

That’s just highlights the root of the problem with the crows, there’s a hell of a lot of arrogance throughout the club and they act like they know what’s best and refuse to listen to others as it’s a boys club

Nicks should be worried as the fans are sick of the lame excuses and the person who has to take the blame is the coach especially when he doesn't move players when they are losing against their opposition, fans want to make finals and Nicks doesn't seem to be able to deliver

The reality is , despite playing a top 2 side last night , like him or loath him , with all the analysis and resources available at his disposal, he's failed to fix glaring deficiencies with performance and structure, that were identified clearly in Season 1 of his reign. Its suggested that Nicks was instrumental in the ball movement at GWS. (The orange tsunami) Did he leave the guide book behind ? Where is there any evidence of it ?? He's clearly failed to influence List Management , when he knew where we were short in talent. You've had 4 1/2 years to run the show. How do you justify overseeing a playing group that goes to sleep during critical phases in a game or has a major lapse in defense. Yet you look at how inspired some of our opponents have been after 1/2 time. Sydney, Richmond , Hawthorn etc etc. This isnt a once off. This has been going on since his 0 - 13 start as a head coach. The Board are just as culpable. As if to re-sign a coach that had a 0 - 3 start to the new Season wasnt a big enough red flag. I think we create far too many excuses for mediocrity in sport in Australia. If this was the U.S , this amateur wouldve been shown the door after Season 2. I was at Football Park in 1991 for Game 1. South Australian football thanks you for the black eye Mathew. Nicks. Youve set the program back 10 years.

Famed Australian Rules football coach the late Ron Barrassi once stated that the first thing he did when assessing whether or not to take on a coaching role was to look at the club's management. If the club's management was poor, the immediate answer was "No," and the process went no further.
The smooth talking Chaiman of the Adelaide Football Club was forced to resign as State Premier of SA due to misleading Parliament.
The remainder of the board is a very clubby group of like-minded types, with little or no grass roots football experience who are in it for the prestige, the networking and a few free drinks. Rocking the boat is never going to happen. With all their contacts and 'so-called expertise, they appear to have done nothing to prevent the immigration of good players back to the eastern states and made the search for an Admin and Training Centre bigger than Ben Hur. Compare their effort to that of the club's first board who set the club up from scratch in a matter of months. Probably not one tertiary institute degree or diploma among that group but a hell of a lot of experience and grit.
With admin like the present group, what chance has the coaching and playing groups have?

You know a fair bit, Max did have a law degree and flourishing legal practice, Ric Allert, a high profile accountant, was also on the board - the balance of them were mainly self made men who had extensive experience with SANFL clubs.
