The "Bell X1" was actually the first aircraft to exceed Mach 1! Chuck Yeager, the pilot of the "Glamorous Glennis" (named after his wife), flew the plane during that record attempt.

They had jet engines in the 1940s. Ever heard of the German Me 262? That was a jet-poweres fighter. Also, rocket engines already existed even before one was fitted on to the X-1. The X-1 was not the first rocket plane.
Bell still makes helicopters. At 85 years of service, they're not dead... yet.

The me-163 i think it was the first airplane with rocket engine it was a german plane with a rocket engine also i think it was the fastest aircraft on ww2 it was made in 1944 as a interceptor un the luftwaffe
It was made as a bomber interceptor. Any allied bombers had a hard time when they were swarming them. The MK 108 30mm loaded with Minengeschoss could tear any aircraft apart but as soon as it ran out of fuel and ammo it would be in great danger.

The Bell X-1 had reached Mach 1 by being deployed from another aircraft. It was never designed to take-off. BTW, I love your vids :)

Well technically, the V-1s and V-2s that Germany owned were rockets, and the Me-163 Komet, which first flew in mid 1941, was rocket powered.
Can you imagine an a380 doing .5 Mach down a runway 😂😂
