Your lure is actually an Asian Arrowana (Scleropages formosus.)
Your pike looks like a hybrid to me. The coloration, the way the spots line up almost into vertical stripes and the lack of patterning on the fins all fit. Pike-pickerel hybrids aren't too unusual here in Vermont (the state even classifies them a separate species for records and the Master Angler program) so I wouldn't be surprised that they're occasionally found in Maine in lakes with both pike and pickerel as well.

I got a unique glidebait I'm designing for up in Maine. Working on getting it made in a final material right now. Have caught about 30 fish on my current version, and its still going strong. I aim to have this last prototype completed by the end of summer and fish it all fall long for some big bass. I'd love to get you one to do the same
I got a Rapala 3" swim bait, it's one of the smallest ones, it catches everything. I stopped using it, because it started to feel like cheating. Just throw it in, pull on it once or twice, wait up to 15 seconds, rinse and repeat. There will be a trike, if nothing else, a large bluegill. But's it's usually bass. I caught pickerel, trout, northern, bluegill, crappie, even channel catfish with it. Oh yeah, and it's super fun using it with ultralight rig.
i would love to know what kind of knot you use on something like that. i get scared to lose my 5$ baits lol

Wanna try another crazy lure? Try Brazilian Borboleta Stick Popper. When I'm struck out that's my save the day lure. It has worked for me on tucunaré, bass and even tarpon, yes, tarpon. I have caught more tarpon in this lure than any other one. In fact this Iscas Borboleta lures, all their variations, are very successful.

You want a Maine lake with a not great ramp but some giant smallmouth look up Upper Hot Brook lake there’s a Lower Hot Brook too but it’s even more remote and harder to access
