  • Today, we're going to be taking a deep dive into one of my new favorite analog horror series... @whitestageducation! The story and secrets of this series have been a joy to unravel so far... and it's only in its early stages.
White Stag Education shows an insane amount of promise, so huge props/shoutouts to the team at @after10productions working on this legendary series!
also if the video looks/feels weird it's because a lot of it was done by an editor but i'm not hiring them again so don't worry

Small note of interest: Satan is not a name, but a title. One that roughly translates to "the adversary". My guess is that the jersey _devil_ IS the adversary just because of the connection to biblical lore.

    • @Evnyofdeath
      @Evnyofdeath Před 6 měsíci +168

Also note of interest, most forms of Judaism don't consider Satan to be evil. In fact he's often depicted as God's right hand man and one of the most powerful angels. The reason his name means "Adversary" is because he was the original Devil's Advocate. His job was to bring up all the evil a soul had committed in life as reasons that they should be barred from the afterlife. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the original Christian denominations had similar beliefs before Lucifer was created by a translation error.
Thats also why Satan is on the side of Law in the SMT and Persona games if you've played them and ever wondered by the way.

@@Evnyofdeath In Catholicism, Satan and Lucifer are names of certain fallen angels. They used to be angels with Lucifer being the most highest one. When God announced his plans to make Mary the Queen of heaven, the angels were divided, with some accepting it and others not being happy that a human will be above them. They then went against God and the war of angels happened, where the angels that opposed God were banished by those angels that were loyal. This established a new hierarchy where Michael and Gabriel became important angels, where before they were low ranking.
Before this event occurred God did not plan to make Jesus, his son. But because evil existed, the course of time has changed. Bringing up the idea that a human should be the Queen of Heaven was a test to see who trusted God and who wanted more power. Angels remained beautiful because they were close to God and experienced happiness in his presence, while the fallen angels became ugly because they could not be in the presence of God anymore, depriving them of eternal happiness. (It is said that if they apologised then God would forgive them but their pride and hatred are too strong for that.) The fallen angels hate humans that they are such weak creatures but are allowed to be in heaven. They especially hate women because they can do the only thing that God can do, create new life out of nothing.
Hope this was interesting. Each religion and country has a different understanding but this is what us Roman Catholics believe (the type of Catholic that follow the Pope’s teaching).

@@Human-lg8hbI don't mean to be rude but I'm genuinely curious about Christian beliefs - if God is omnipotent and omniscient, why allow evil and sin to exist outside of a sadistic desire to punish? he had the ability to forgive sins yet he actively chooses to put people in hell? Like, for something that's supposed to be the prime example of good that seems pretty evil to be honest, so either he's not as powerful as he's alleged to be, or he's not such a good guy after all. I don't understand why someone would desire to spend eternity with somebody like that? again, I'm not trying to be rude i just genuinely am curious because I don't understand the appeal

    1) The adversary puppet almost slithers like a snake. You also mentioned something about eden so maybe the adversary is the snake from the stroy, now trapped inside what used to be eden?
    2) 4 kids and a park ranger passed away some time during the making of these tapes. The kid's drawing of the strangers depict 4 of them in white masks and 1 with a black wolf mask in a configuration similar to the way the puppets (kids) sat around the park ranger.

So one note: The Adversary is a moniker given to Satan in the bible, most famously referring to him as “Your adversary as a roaring lion.” The star of heaven is most likely referring to Lucifer specifically, as Lucifer means “bearer of light” or “morning star.” So most likely Lucifer is chilling under the forest after falling to earth? That or another fallen angel who was following Lucifer and thus got chucked out (as the comet, ie a fallen angel, happened recently in the story).
Also just a side note: the book of Enoch is literally non-canonical, as the word canon comes from the bible! It derives from an old Greek word meaning “measuring stick” or “rule” (also the same root of the word for “cane” in English) and denotes any book included in the bible.

Another detail that stands out to me from a Biblical standpoint, and is highlighted by the reading from Enoch: both Luke and Daniel share names with significant Biblical figures. Luke is one of the Four Evangelists who wrote the canon gospels, Daniel was a prophet who could predict the future by interpreting dreams.
Also one detail I like about this horror series is just the depiction of the Rangers working to contain this disturbing anomaly. A lot of analog horror series tend to depict local governments as either comically incompetent or directly in cahoots with the monster. The idea of Park Rangers both being aware of and actively fighting back against the cult (even though they're keeping it hushed up SCP style) is a pleasant break from the usual tropes.

    So, we have...
    1. References to "the fiery sword", wielded by Uriel as he guarded the Gate of Eden
    2. The "star of heaven", described similarly to the angels that disobeyed God as described in Enoch
    3. "The Adversary", the direct translation of Satan as it was in Hebrew, and is depicted as snake-like and coming from a hole which emits a burning heat
If I were to make a wild prediction, Ledger's Comet is the "star of heaven", an angel that bore children with humans and was imprisoned in the sky for the crime, which seeks to return to Earth and reunite with its children. The Strangers (described as a species similar but ultimately different from humans) are the children of that angel, and The Adversary/The Serpent/The Devil has taken control of a section of the "garden" so that the children may live and thrive. (In this way, the "oldest tree in the Pine Barrens" could symbolize the Tree of Life, which means those puppets were walking right up to The Serpent.) The park rangers then become a metaphorical Uriel, but unlike Uriel, they are unable to expel the Strangers from the "garden" (and struggle to keep them within the walls of their territory).
Now I just wonder if the entity beneath the church and The Adversary are different beings, or one-and-the-same...

This is actually a really cool series, but there's one thing I can't get past. In other analogue horror with stuff like this, the creatures are only legends in the public eye, or they influence the minds of people so that they're not a focus of any kind.
    But in this it's different.
The Parks/Forest Service knows about The Strangers. They know how they communicate and they know their hunting patterns. They know they can be killed with conventional methods. They have classified information about them.
So if a government agency is aware of a very serious, anomalous threat that can be fairly easily killed, why is nothing done? It's not like other horror series where the best that can be done is containing it, here the obvious course of action is to evacuate the area, send in the Marine Corps and tell them to fire at will. Few days of that going on and there'll be no Strangers left.
I hope the creator touches on this at some point, because in a situation where the threat can be shot, the American response is to shoot it

Furfur is depicted as a deer or winged deer, much like how the White Stag logo is also depicts a winged deer, or stag as Minaxa puts it.

The Jersey Devil (possibly the adversary) is from a myth of a mother (Mother Leeeds) who had 12 children, then at her 13th child, she just cursed the kid to become "The devil", so maybe the masked people could be his siblings, which many died if we consider there are only some of them left. The myth also says that the demon flied to PINE BARRENS, which is exactly the place that those tapes happen.
Also, the white stag is an actual legend! An spirit who protects people from danger, which is ALSO in the barrens. The White Stag also means that the Otherworld is near.
Maybe according to the information I collected, White Stag Education does in FACT, know about the existence of an actual entity, DANIEL Leeds is much like of the one who published the myth, it's believed that he lived around (1651-1720).
Also an insteresting thing is that the Jersey Devil has "blood-curdling screams", which could much be the whistles.

Loved the video, im now hooked and want to share a theory i had after watching it.
I think Daniel Carpenter's Vision takes place after the comet lands and he is the one to investigate it along side Henry Ledger, seeing as he didnt die in his first encounter (This is assuming that Daniel was the one on the trail in the SAFE video). His being in the woods on a false trail may be on purpose considering his sisters dissapearence he may want to know what happened/investigate the circumstances that lead to it the encounter with strangers taking place after would explain the heat emenating from the hole in his vision aswell as why all 5 strangers were not present in the first encounter, considering the test group for the traffic light had a 100% success rate this wouldnt make sense for the vision to not be "fully" accurate considering the level of detail put in the videos, its something i cant gloss over in my head. This is assuming that Daniel is the person on the false trail in the SAFE video, If he is not then the vision he had still has yet to come true, still supporting the idea that the Comet is what is causing the "heat".
It also feels that the puppet video draws a lot of attention to carpenter, being part of the test group where the puppet was first drawn and The puppet video having Anna in a framed picture with the angel but no other kids have portraits.
We also know that the 2/3 visions realte to the strangers themselves, one being the puppets two being the encounter, and 2/3 of them are related to Daniel aswell, the pupprts with his sister, and his own vision. Which can only lead me to believe that Daniel is a key player in this weird satanic game.
The comet could be the star of heaven or the firey sword "Turned to stone".
I feel as if Daniel is more important that we realize, i would even go as far to say that Daniel went on the false trail on purpose after watching these videos himself, including the park ranger video. I think future videos will start to drift into found footage style content following daniel.
And my one longshot theory is that Dave is dead and Daniel took over at somepoint, leading to the basement scene in christmas tape.
Thank you for the great video, and the new obsession.

Fun Fact: Satan is referred to as "The Adversary" in the Bible, which lends to the scene where it asks "can you spot the adversary?" and shows a snake. Kinda like Satan is suspected to be the snake in the Garden of Eden.

In my opinion, I think that the adversary and the jery devil are seperate entities, the way it's described as 'writhing' beneath the forest and 'surfacing' makes me think that it's some sort of snake demon or even Satan/Lucifer himself. Also, the star of heaven could be referring to Lucifer as he was 'the star of the morning' when he was an angel and it could have a more literal meaning as he was described as the most beautiful of all the angels.

Gonna be long winded and all that stuff but here we go.
There are two things I've loved since I was a child. Puppets and Internet Horror. (Starting with FNAF when I was 11)
I was always a big fan of Sesame Street/The Muppets, watching episodes and movies, and essays on their impact in pop culture and the world and stuff. Naturally, that turned me into someone who is naturally drawn to them, even in Horror. From the experimentation of DHMIS, to the digital aesthetics and mysteries behind Welcome Home, to even the standard suspense of My Friendly Neighborhood, they all take the medium of Puppetry/Puppet media, and give them a nice unique horror twist that surprisingly doesn't feel as stale as most other Mascot Horror.
And ESPECIALLY in the Modern Analog Horror landscape, 'Forest Friends' in White Stag Education is no exception. I could praise just this video alone like an English teacher explaining why the curtains are blue, but long story short, the whole series' effective use of not just puppets but practical effects as well makes this not just impressive but possibly one of my favorite internet horror things I've seen in a long time.
I'm still disappointed that despite all the theories and essays, the videos themselves barely get views because it truly deserves all the attention.

      @kiwostage2278 Před 6 měsíci +23

It's a good question and giving thought to it, a hypothesis that I came up with is that Luke and Dan intended to ingrain the song in the children's head, as it's easier to remember and recognize a proper song in contrast to separate sounds such as whistles. If a child were to hear the show's ending theme in the form of a whistle, they would associate it with the strangers. Buuuut it's just a hypothesis :) (Edit: Commited some grammar mistakes, oooops!)

The woods are SCARY at night, we have a ton of pine forests and dirt roads all around especially near the wildlife refuge center in town, i still get scared when i’m alone at night tbh

"The Adversary" was the old, very old, title of Lucifer in Jewish mythos. Lucifer was known as "The Morning Star" later. In his earliest incarnation he was the questioning part of the Jehova mythos. The part that questioned people's faith and was the one that prompted "The Most High" in all of his tests of humanity's virtues. Of all "Angels" Lucifer was the one that was given the most doubt, ability to suspect, and ability to question not only humanity, but God as well. Thus "The Adversary".

What if Dan sacrificed Luke in the basement of the church? ( 35:38 ) They didn’t get on, and if they had the knowledge that was highlighted in other videos including references to the adversary, surely it would be understood that approaching the creature would be an incredibly risky move? Maybe this would keep the creature at bay, but I also have an extension to this idea..
The rangers “not being allowed to leave” trait ( 23:12 ) doesn’t make much sense to me with regards to ‘confidentiality’. It seems information about the masked creatures are somewhat public knowledge, and hikers (may) be debriefed before setting foot, so why the confidentiality and illegal working practice? The rangers, in my eyes, come across as a cult themselves. The imagery of the wings on the stag and the Latin also conjures those sorts of thoughts in my mind.
Another strange thing to me is why the park would even be open to the public in the first place. If it’s that dangerous, why even bother going?
Perhaps the park rangers are not as altruistic as they are presenting themselves to be.
    🌲👹
