  • I'm selling my car, and here's why I think you should buy it (or a similar one)!
    Specs:
~125,000 miles (in its first few years on the road it went up a lot, I suspect motorway use as company car)
2.0 Twin Spark (4-cylinder) - not the V6, but considerably lighter at the front end so handles like a dream
Timing belt done in October 2021, next change due October 2024
Reams of paperwork with it from over the years, all from highly-regarded Alfa specialists (AlfaNet, AutoLusso, …)
    Full service history 😮
16" alloys in great condition, previous owner had them refurbished
Manual gearbox (of course!), very smooth gear changes
Petrol (of course!), will need to be run on super unleaded as it’s not rated for E10 (fuel lines, seals etc could be damaged in the long term)
Handles well at all speeds, brakes work very well and don’t pull in any direction (can brake hard with hands off the wheel if you’re brave enough!)
155BHP when new, I’m fairly sure the majority are still there!
Suspension solid, no knocks, squeaks or rattles
Rear suspension very complex, allows passive rear-wheel steering, and as a result handles beautifully
As a result of the above, boot space rather limited
Full climate control, A/C etc - works perfectly
Sits comfortably on the motorway at (redacted) mph all day long
Stainless exhaust - sounds lovely without being too yobbish
Tan leather interior in excellent condition, really quite beautiful inside
Alpine bluetooth stereo fitted with mic wired in for phone calls etc
Alfas/Italian cars typically burn a bit of oil, but this has never really done so (checked meticulously throughout ownership)
Frameless door windows which lower a bit when the doors open
Comes with 2 red (standard) keys, 1 brown master key, alarm code card and 3 alarm fobs (one I bought new and is perfect, one is quite worn, the other in the middle somewhere…)
    MOT advisories:
    - Front tyres worn: they only last about 10k miles on these if you’re lucky, should be ~1k or so left on these before they could do with replacement
    - CV joint leak: It isn’t leaking, it had been replaced the previous year, it’s just excess grease appearing. Garage agreed but it was already on the MOT certificate by then
Looking for as close to £3k as I can get…

I like the look of this. I need to check what the insurance is like though.

    Had both, multiple times ...
V6 for open roads and a Twinnie for B roads...oh and the spider absolutely needs to be a 2.0 preferably in Zoe yellow!

I almost bought a low mileage Zoe yellow TS spider a few years ago, but didn’t quite have the budget for it back then… Instead I bought a far-too-cheap blue GTV, the coolant boiled over at the top of a mountain on the way to see ZZ Top!

I did, and I found the right buyer who’ll appreciate it properly! Seems there aren’t many left with working power aerials!

@@TittertonRacing That's good, looked a really nice one from your video. How much did you sell it for an on where. I've decided after over a decade I'm going to sell mine now, so some pointers would be appreciated. Mines a bit older, 1999 phase 2 model on T plate but in Alfa Red.

Hi. Long shot as I can see the video was posted a few months back but wondered if the cars been sold or still available? Thanks

      @TittertonRacing  Před 10 měsíci +2

Hi - it was sold, but I think the chap who bought it might have had to reluctantly part with it, so it might be available… not sure where it’s advertised though

@@TittertonRacing no problem thanks for the response. Glad you got it sold fairly soon. Lovely car.

The stainless exhaust is that in replacement with the mid pipe?

    • @TittertonRacing
      @TittertonRacing  Před 9 měsíci

I think it was - don’t think it was stainless up to the manifold, but certainly the mid and rear sections were. My previous GTV (much worse example) had the Alfaholics exhaust on, but that was about the only good thing about that car!

    Hi Alex.
Could you tell me how tall are you? I'm planning to buy one of these, but I'm worried about touching the top with my head. I'm 6ft 2in.
    Thanks.

Hi -- I'm 6'3" and didn't hit the roof, so you'll be fine -- though I did need to lean forward to see when the traffic lights turned green! Avoid GTVs with a sunroof, as these have less headroom. Cheers!
