Billy was an outstanding promoter and booking agent as well as an artist and songwriter in his own right. He was Faron Young's manager and agent for many years and was a major part of Faron's success both as an artist and in business. Billy co-wrote two major country hits, "Wine Me Up" for Faron and "Louisiana Man" for Doug Kershaw. No one in Nashville or in the music business ever had a bad word to say about Billy. He died about two years ago after a long illness.
