    ABOUT ME
I’m 31 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland, which is why I have such a strong accent! I was born and raised on a sheep farm watching my dad who was the shepherd.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city (something I still do) and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep. [shudders thinking about it]
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then in 2015 my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could continue working with sheep as it was something I loved doing. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 600 breeding ewes.
I shore over 15,000 sheep this season in UK and I also travel to Norway for shearing in March and September. (Covid messed it up this year)
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep pregnancy scanner and have been building up my run since then.
I watched a few farm vlogs on CZcams and decided I could have a go and now here we are!
Thanks for watching my videos and please subscribe if you want to see more in future.

I am recently disabled and while away my hours watching Farming videos on CZcams...I watch them more than I do the normal TV.
I have ended up creating my own list of Young Farming Legends and thought I would recommend the following channels that always carry interesting and engaging content. I am posting this comment on all the Legends Channels in order that fellow viewers can take a look and see if they enjoy them as much as I do. So here is my list:
    My Farming Legends:
    The Sheep Game
    JM Farming
    Tom Pemberton Farm Life
    Olly's Farm
    Farming at La Forge
    This Farming Life (Series2)
    Once a Day Farmer
    I farm We Farm
A big thank you to all of the above CZcamsrs and please keep up the good work

I'm from the states. A Michigan boy. I ran a beef cattle herd for 10 years but don't know much about sheep. I enjoy watching shearing. As I progressed through your videos, I could see the skill progress with the season. Like you were gettin back in the groove. Thank for providing these shows. In my grade school years I had a Scotish nun as a teacher. First couple years were a learning experience. With her Scotish and the other sisters, Italian, our pheonetics were all screwed up. But has made it easier for me to understand you when you get to talking fast.

    • @w056007568
      @w056007568 Před 2 lety

In all honesty that is absolutely not the case either now or over the last few years as the value of the wool is so low. Cammy has said in earlier videos the sale value cannot cover the cost of the shearer or their crew! For breeds that have a low value fleece it is either dumped or burnt (and it does not burn well either) to get rid of it

I am so impressed by the fact that all the sheep I watched you shear, I didn't see any nicks. They reason I do my own is because the last two shearers nicked my ewes so badly, they looked spotted from all the Blue Coat (Gensin Violet)

Have you ever thought of doing a video on what happens to the wool from the sheep you sheer? So that we city folk can see how the wool is processed after it is removed from the sheep.

Great video as always!!! Now that shearing season is over and you have a new little bundle of joy at home with Lizzy, is it time to cut your hair again? Its looking quite unruly and you look so much better with a grand new cut to complement your dashing good looks!

I very much appreciate the "posh" narration, I was just watching one of your island trip video's and you slipped into more traditional speech and i didn't have a clue what you said :D :D :D :D :D
Very much appreciate the effort you go for us.
    Much love from Australia !
