- The tutorial of today is about how to fix a water damage iPhone X and will gonna show it to you the full process of the dissambly, the ultrasonic cleanning and the assembly of the device. It is a video a little bit longer than normal but where we show you all the steps for do the right cleaning.
For you to fix an iPhone X that has been wet with pool water and that does not start because of the humidity, you need to know and follow the steps we are going to present below:
Step 1: Disassembly the iPhone completely.
Step 2: Look under the microscope for the motherboard, possible humidity, rust, motherboard damage, short circuit, burned components.
Step 3: Insert the motherboard into the ultrasonic washer.
Step 4: Clean the base plate manually + cleaning with isopropyl alcohol.
Step 5: We clean the connectors and the motherboard manually.
Step 6: With a heat gun dry the motherboad, 10 minutes 50º.
Step 7: We put the motherboard plus the components.
Step 8: check the correct functionality of the
If you are not a repair technician and you ve got problems with the process of dissambly or with your device ,it would be in the best of your own interest,not to attempt a repair that you really cannot handle. Because there is a huge risk that you will actually end up doing more harm than good.

@@TheLinposterIsSus no it's common sense, electronics fry when in contact with water. The seal is what gives it the "water resistance."
Mine fell in a sink for a second while in the life proof case. It still works but the outward camera does not.

Great video! Just fixed my Xs using this video after my phone came with me for a swim last week. I cleaned the pin connector underneath the haptic motor as they were obviously a bit corroded, and it's now working! (although phones are never the same after they're taken apart, I won't trust it to be waterproof at all moving forward).
Life lesson is if you get your "waterproof" phone wet, dry it off immediately. It was working fine when I got out, but I just left it on my dock and jumped back in without doing anything else. 10 minutes later it was dead. After a few days in a tupperware container full of desiccate packs, the symptom was I would get the "charge me" indicator on screen, but it would crash as soon as it would try to boot while charging (probably to protect the phone).
I dropped my phone in the sewer and called 911 it was working it would turn off and on now it doesn’t work should I do this too

You dont really need the ultrasonic washer, nor the special dryer he has, those are just industrial tools for service professionals to get the job done quicker.
You can also use a jeweler's loupe with a 25x magnification instead of a microscope, but the focal range on those is really small making a microscope more convenient so you dont have to hold it an inch from your face.
Without experience though you're better off taking it to a pro or you might damage it more.
I would say soak it all in 99% alcohol preferably with cue tips like what was used, I wasn't a fan of how harsh the toothbrush was used in the video. if the phone still doesn't power on I would inspect the device with a microscope and clean out the areas with thoroughly that have the most corrosion, even then it isn't a guarantee as some parts could be fried but before you do anything unplug the battery and connect the battery last also installing it.

I could probably buy 10 new iPhones after I buy all the equipment needed to clean it lol, I think I could even just open it and hit it with a blow dryer on low because it's still early in my case.
Question, if you can hear the device working but only the screen is black do I still need to take the phone apart as you did? Or I just need to focus on the two connectors on the screen?

Once water damaged as someone said there will be too much corrosion on some parts so I reckon this guy simply swapped the phone for a working one somewhere in the video :)

after 20 minutes of freaking out after my iphone xs was exposed to water the screen was flickering green. Hi, thanks for the informative video. My iPhone X was "fried"' after dipping in water to "Clean it'". I replaced the screen and everything working except loud speaker and taptic engine which are none responsive even after replacing with new parts. Is this a motherboard problem or is there something else I can do?

What are the possibilities when repairing the phone? Did the picture and all the content were erased? We’ve just had a consultation in icenter and the possibility is that if something might be replaced, all the content will be erased.
Kate Lapuz if you repair it (not replace it) everything should stay on the phone, but if you open the phone to repair it, your warranty won’t be an option anymore

what phone shops in Australia actually have those ultrasonic cleaners and driers. I took my iPhone X to an official apple store and because I didn't have apple care or warranty they said they couldn't fix it and I would have to replace it for over 800dollars.

Well I fixed my phone it’s simple just wash the mother board and the charging point area with rubbing alcohol and leave it in the sun to dry off then put it together
wait did leaving it in the sun actually work because the back glass on my phone was broke and water got in the hole and now it won’t even turn on
Alana Curry u have to open it up and take the motherboard out then use a brush like toothbrush with rubbing alcohol to brush off the motherboard and charging point then leave it out in the hot sun
my charging port got droplets of water in while asleep, now my phone restarts every 3 min once unlocked. analytics show "kernal panic" mode. Its been a few days since and my phone still charges it just keeps restarting. is this a charging port issue?

My phone also water damaged but after that my phone's face id sensing blurred and after few days its earpiece volume starts reducing and then after a few months sometimes it's stuck on lock screen and when unlocking my phone it doesn't have any touch issue..even I plays pubg on it... Very detailed but I don't understand why you close the phone and you put the two screws before testing the phone. Because you will do dummy work if the phone does not start and then you have to open it again. But overall very detailed video

Hey I have just bought a used iPhone X and is still in warranty until 3. december. The problem with the phone is that the speakers are a lot more silent than usual (like I would be playing at 50-60% of normal when it's at maximum) and it's just unclear sound. My question is if this would be caused by water damage or can this be a hardware/software problem that would be covered by the warranty? I don't want to send it in apple warranty and then getting a reply that it was caused by the water damage...

I accidentally dipped the bottom part of my phone in water for a few minutes before I realized the area was wet. I immediately put it in a bag of rice and checked after a couple of hours. My screen is sometimes not responding or doing ghost touch. It also appears lighter and sometimes have green flashes. Do I need to replace my screen for this one? @@MovilonePhoneRepair i have another question. should i be worried for water damage if i dropped my iphone x in the toilet? i kept it turned off for almost 24 hours but i didnt put it in rice or whatsoever because i searched that it would damage it more. i just kept it in a warm place and placed it in front of a fan at a very light speed so it can somewhat dry it off. what should i do? i also checked the LCI and it was white. is that a good sign?

My XS Max wont charge, its drained and when charging it charges for halfa second then flickers to green to black screen. I went to the official repair shop and ask for replacement thru valid warranty,
Upon opening they found out all the water damage indicator stickers are all white but they saw water marks and one rusty screw near the charging port. And they want to charge 600 dollars for the replacement.... any opinion? My uneducated guess is that the one i must replace is the charging port flex?
I never submerged my phone in water only valid factor is i use it in shower/ steam bath steam shower/ beside jacuzzi which steam is common.
