Being a black person who plays rugby I can tell Dr Ndlozi for free that part of the reason why rugby is “white dominated” is because first those white rugby players are actually good at the sport. Not to say black people aren’t but the fact of the matter is, it’s what white people do and love and it only makes sense that it is dominated by them. Secondly it is “white dominated” because in all honesty a large number of black people simply do not want to play rugby, for many different reasons. So to try downplay the springboks victory because rugby is played mostly by white people and most of the springbok players are white is incorrect in my opinion. The springboks won that trophy for South Africans as a collective irrespective of skin color. Also how are they not talking about the PSL and Bafana bafana being black dominated? If you’re gonna speak about a certain race dominating a sport the I think it’s only fair that they target all sports and not just rugby. At the end of the day, the springboks’ victory means way more to average South Africans than Ndlozi may think. For a second he must go and see how much it actually means to South Africans, he must go there objectively as an individual and not as the spokesperson of the EFF and then he will see how much it means to people. It’s not to say that winning the World Cup will solve all the countries problems but it can be a moment where every South African can be happy because of the same thing. Speaking of solving the countries problems even them as the EFF won’t solve the countries problems.
Very true my brother. I like when you say...no sport will solve our problems. But with the victory, it's all for us. SPRINGBOKS did it for us. The 1996 Bafana Bafana did for all of us. I believe in sports that it has the power. Thank you so much to the SPRINGBOKS.
I think by dominating,he means that the springboks/rugby do no represent the demographics of this country. The minority are dominating ,that's what he means. Blacks dominating all sectors whether be spot or any other is not wrong because we are in the majority. The reasons why cricket and rugby are white dominated I believe is because they are more expensive . as someone who played both soccer and cricket growing up,soccer was more convenient for me because back in the days we played bare footed and the only only thing that we could struggle for was a ball and if we had one,we needed nothing else apart from us making 2 teams and play against each other nje. As for cricket,a cheap bat that doesn't last can go for around R400,spikes R400 the cheap ones for that matter, then you must have also have the helmet,so this things are a must for cricket and my mom couldn't afford those. As for soccer cheap boots you can get them for about R250 and we would make our own sheen guards from boxes. As for rugby I can't say much because I never liked it anyway but I've seen that it needs capital just by seeing what they use at practice at LC ,UP sports campus. So I think it will be simple for us to see that resources play a major role in which sport a person can take and become successful.that's why blacks are dominant in soccer and whites in the other 2 popular sports, rugby and cricket. Im not an EFF member though! Have a great discussion!
@@thabisomakhobalo3441 by ur own logic then the NBA should be dominated by white people because the demographics of america is majority white, have u watched France in the U17 world cup that is currently taking place in Brazil? it's 95% black so according to ur feeble logic the white French should be concerned
Dr. Ndlozi sir, there is a time for everything under the sun. There is a season to be merry and a season to be sad. When an opportunity to celebrate comes knocking at one's door, nobody says to it; "go away I am still waiting for all my problems to be resolved first". If Bafana Bafana by some serious stroke of luck or genius, had won the soccer World Cup 2010, we would have all celebrated across board🤞🏾. Take my soccer team Kaizer Chiefs✌🏾 for example, it is made up of supporters from different political, tribal, ethnic and religious backgrounds. Even if there were internal problems within Kaizer Chiefs when we win, we celebrate with immediate effect. At the end of this PSL season when Kaizer Chiefs lifts the cup😉, we the supporters will celebrate. We know that our celebration does not mean that all internal problems, if there be any, are now fixed. *It is the nature of Sports to celebrate wins* , whether problems exist or not. Please cut us some slack sir, this is a great sporting achievement🏆. Let us savour this moment - braai, eat, drink and when the dust settles we can all go back to our drawing boards to resume #Letsfixourcountry.
U don't get Dr Ndlozi's point. He denied that the winnings of WRC to be mobilised as racial unity, saying together we are stronger. That's totally nonsense, then we should wait another 12years to be United?Lets speak about the issue's that divided us after this celebration.
@@scalomoss1622 why do human beings have to complicate things so much ? Our country won the rugby. It's been nearly two decades since we won the last time, and of all things, it's highlighted that unity amongst the people of this country can actually be celebrated together despite their differences. Is that such a bad thing? Do we have to drown out any sense of hope of a united future by continuously drowning out the light by constantly constantly focusing on the past. The past is in the past. Leave it there, where it belongs. Focus on the future. Now. Today. A united one. For all South Africans of all divides.

How can you Mbuyiseni Ndlozi downplay the victory that brought a world cup to our country. What are you saying Doctor Ndlozi? Should we just keep quiet and act as if nothing of note has happened? Don't you thing we would have killed every hope young people now have that they can represent our country in evry sport and be victorious? Please celebrate this victory and join other people of South Afrika in treking the road to unity. This brought equal joy to everyone regardless of inequality. Why politicise even pure excellence in sport. It is like nothing pleases EFF, the good or the bad.
In lieu of celebrating a simple rugby win, whites and their sycophants started politicising it along the lines of "unifying" the nation to divert the attention of the gullible blacks from the real issues. A false political narrative would surely attract a political response. Ndlozi is actually being nice. To hell with political correctness and diplomacy. If we cannot unite on land expropriation and equal pay for equal work, to hell with the unity narrative on the rugby nonsense.
U can celebrating the victory without telling us bout fake unity its fine to celebrare the success of boks but to lie n say there's unity while there's non
There's nothing wrong with celebrating black excellence. It does not mean others don't do well. It's just that there's stigma on black people not being able or even good enough to excel in anything. So he flat out states that he won't celebrate white people which I agree is wrong in this case because it was a team effort and that team has white players. But celebrating BLACK EXCELLENCE is necessary because no one else will if we don't!

You can only divide what is united. Just celebrate a rugby win and stop lying about unity and Siya Kolisi blah blah. This is all a well rehearsed sketch with the white man as director. Celebrating first black Captain after 25 years? BS!
Can't we not just enjoy this moment as a country? Listening to this poephol makes me realise something, sport unites and politicians divide us. EFF is scared of a United S.A because they realise they will become redundant if we stand together. No division, no votes, no parliamentary salary or benefits. True colours shining through Ndlozi. @Carmen Fox we all know reality of South Africa but we're trying to change that you're stupid to think that we should live in segregation and promote such destructive speeches for people who are just marketing. The ultimate reality of South Africa is that we want a united nation. You can go to Soweto and do a one by one survey asking people if they would like white people to live the country. I promise you very few people would say yes to that. If EFF parliamentarians have children go and find out if their kids go to all black schools, you'll find that they all go to white schools those who are still planning to have children are dreaming of their children going to white schools. Black people alone will run the country down just like what's happening in Nigeria. Don't be stupid in 2019 please
@@dsuka3027 there's no such! In 1995 white people used rugby to convince us about "stronger together". It's 2019, we must know there no such rubbish. In their entire history, white people don't work equally with black people, so why would any black person believe in the rainbow nation?
I did not vote for the EFF but most of the comments here are disappointing. SAs have a problem of being emotional responders. What Dr. Ndlozi is saying is that the fact that the Boks won the World Cup it is not a matter that will bring the people of SA together which is true. Look at the last two world cups that we won, temporal happiness and a few pics taken amongst blacks & whites but at the core division is rife. Ndlozi is simply saying he will not get excited by this & will continue fighting for true unity.......
I think what he means or should have said is in order for us to have actual unity we need to acknowledge our underlying issues as a country ,the fact is there is little unity , instead of indulging in the euphoria of us winning the cup which did bring about a sense of unity .. but just for a day. Question ,Will you have the same sense of unity Monday morning after the euphoria has died down with your counterparts of a different race.. once we acknowledge we can finally get onto the road to understanding , we can move forward and have unity without relying on a sports team to win . Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
Mr. Ndlozi, Captain Kolisi is everything you are not. He is handsome, tall, humble and a leader of men. He is a unifier of people and an inspiration to the youth of this country. Your raison d'etre is to divide and stir animosity and disunity. Without this no one would know you exist. Sad!
As South Africans we live in moments. The winning of the RWC was a moment to be enjoyed. That said, I do agree with this EFF guy to a certain extent that 2 weeks later we will be back to how it was before the world cup. There is truth to what he is saying.
@@See-if_I_care You are right but the mere fact that he is defending Ndlozi tells me what his intentions are. We all know that there is still a struggle for social cohesion but divisive rhetoric and threats of land expropriation and violence against whites do not, in any way, foster good relations. The EFF and, one could argue, also the ANC, are the equivalent of the AWB, in terms of their racism. There can never be peace with these parties in control. The rugby victory has unified our country briefly and we should use the time to celebrate and create new friendships. Now is not the time to open old wounds. The problems are more socio-economic now than race related and the blame must now be shifted, after 25 years, from Apartheid to the communist ANC government and their corruption and general incompetence.
@@See-if_I_care Yes, facts, I already said I agree but what is the intention behind his statement? That is the whole point. He is not interested as an EFF member of creating the unity that he says we don't have. In fact, he wants the opposite. That is why I question the motive behind his comment. He is claiming and complaining that there is no unity but he doesn't want it anyway.

I agree with his stance on racial unity but my goodness, I was so annoyed by his tweet. Not everyone who celebrated was thinking about racial unity; we celebrated because we got a chance to forget about our stresses/realities for a day or two. Just because someone is pushing a racial unity narrative does not mean that everyone buys into it...but my goodness, we live with that grim reality everyday, are we not allowed to escape it for a day? The reason he lists at 6:31. Every country like. America, uk. It all goes. just because you have a degree, doesnt mean you should lead a multimillion company. Google forbes list and check some of their qualifications. Its not always a black and white situation. White people have historically been well off and each generation accumulates wealth, the same way south africa is starting to see new money thats will build up with generations. You cant expect us to stand on the same level instantly when one person had an early start with support of generations of educated ancestors
Fix social conditions, start with the unity in economic participation, reconcile black people to their land and resources, white people must apologise for colonialism and apartheid. Otherwise unity without these things is false

Bless Africa and all who live in it.
Not true, actually majority of white people see players of colour as quota players within the Springboks team. " white people think CJ Stander went to Ireland because he was the wrong colour for the modern day Springboks, meaning he was going to be overlooked for a black player. Arm chair white critics are always going to see colour when national interest is at stake within the bok side. Ndlozi is realistically correct in his assessment of the whole false unity notion. If you go on social media platforms amongst whites, you will be surprised how siya kolisi is disregarded and Duane Vermeulen is christened the real Springboks Captain and you want to come here and claim to see no colour but people? Please do not mislead people.
You have to look at it in both ways that indeed the Springboks victory has brought 'hope' BUT that's it. Dr Ndlozi is reflecting on the reality of South Africa that indeed it is a state of bliss that will eventually end in a few months and things will go back the way they were BUT he is saying this so that we work on the hope so that things may be resolved.
Everybody is judging Ndlozi but he is telling the truth and the truth shall set us free. When you avoid a situation it will never go away. How many of you here can honestly tell me that we are united? The rainbow nation dream died before Mandela died.
OBVIOUSLY racial Unity Isn't going to happen Over night and racial unity isn't perfect In any nation Mr Ndhlozi. But It's a stepping stone globally and It takes a small group of people to make a difference. Its appreciaring and celebrating small Victories of Unity today like these until we can celebrate the bigger victories of tommorow. Don't Be naive and negative, your life Is limited, I doubt you will see that Victory you Speak of, of full racial unity in SA in your life time but here you are given the opportunity to celebrate the small yet Important victories of unity of today while you still breath. Yesturday we had a rugby team that couldn't play in the international games, had only white Players etc. Today we have a team of all Races and a Captain Who is NonWhite who got to lift that Cup etc ,Celebrate were You Can No Matter How insignificant the Victory. Dont let your ego blind you my brother. To me actually I see this rugby would cup as A big victory but a small victory to the bigger victory of our nations greater, racial, economic unity still to be further achieved. GO BOKKE!

Your idea of social cohesion is dominance of blacks over other races. Hypocrite!
The EFF and, one could argue, also the ANC, are the equivalent of the AWB, in terms of their racism. There can never be peace with these parties in control. The rugby victory has unified our country briefly and we should use the time to celebrate and create new friendships. Now is not the time to open old wounds. Politicians don't create JOBS, they create a climate for bullish markets to function fairly, equally and with proportional inclusion to everyone, not a particular race, tribe, gender or class. Let's stop the ILLUSION that we are a united nation, when we all can clearly see that we are not. Truth be told he is right and he should never apologies for his position. Er..nobody speaks about 'undeveloped land'...in fact blacks are not remotely interested in the millions of hectares available . .Squatters even live on ancestral graves etc without a care. But..let's say someone struck oil in a desolate patch..That will suddenly become 'our ancestors land'.
The govt itself has millions of hectares in its possession. Almost 30 years later it's still in govt possession. .going barren..or being taken by the Chinese. The land is not 'your land'..it's the land of all who live in it. Of course...you need to WORK which may seem a very foreign language to you. You seem to live in the land of 'Expectation'..not in South Africa.
Unity and Ubuntu etc is all a lie too..as can be seen by the attacks on foreigners. Ndlozi is among those crying "Open Borders"..he's also among those partying with stolen money after dark. He is indeed a PhD holder! Asking questions that we all have forgotten to ask. Springboks put our country at the helmed of the the sporting arena in the world. And that is great however their victory does not tap into the harsh realities experience by the majority of the people in this country.
Their victory has nothing to do with problems you now mentioning above. Again this was not a platform to politicize but a time to celebrate. Timing is very important. Yes we have challenges but we need not hijack this victory and be lamenting.
@@davidmotlaloe5628 however if you look at the hype and the attention that was given by media. One would ask why are real matters of this country not given some attention. If you look at what they brought back to the country is way greater, yet the attention given was minimal.
Nkosi N true. Most of the time media seem to feed in the negative. If you put positive staff you loose audiences. Look how news papers like daily sun got so quick following and popularity bypublishing stories of tokoshes, korobelas, zoombies etc.

Rugby??? A sport??? A ball??? What about the mf land? Eff refuses to take their eye off the ball (land and the people) that counts and I respect that.
How many more South Africans will have access to land and rise out of poverty now that SA has won the world cup?
It is true that, for whatever reason, the Springboks do not reflect the demographics of this country BUT this kind of hostility from Dr Ndlozi is totally unacceptable.
Rugby was never a popular sport amongst blacks therefore it makes sense that it would not be represented demographically by blacks. The same could be said about Jukskei.
