Being a black person who plays rugby I can tell Dr Ndlozi for free that part of the reason why rugby is “white dominated” is because first those white rugby players are actually good at the sport. Not to say black people aren’t but the fact of the matter is, it’s what white people do and love and it only makes sense that it is dominated by them. Secondly it is “white dominated” because in all honesty a large number of black people simply do not want to play rugby, for many different reasons. So to try downplay the springboks victory because rugby is played mostly by white people and most of the springbok players are white is incorrect in my opinion. The springboks won that trophy for South Africans as a collective irrespective of skin color.
Also how are they not talking about the PSL and Bafana bafana being black dominated? If you’re gonna speak about a certain race dominating a sport the I think it’s only fair that they target all sports and not just rugby. At the end of the day, the springboks’ victory means way more to average South Africans than Ndlozi may think. For a second he must go and see how much it actually means to South Africans, he must go there objectively as an individual and not as the spokesperson of the EFF and then he will see how much it means to people. It’s not to say that winning the World Cup will solve all the countries problems but it can be a moment where every South African can be happy because of the same thing. Speaking of solving the countries problems even them as the EFF won’t solve the countries problems.

Very true my brother. I like when you say...no sport will solve our problems. But with the victory, it's all for us. SPRINGBOKS did it for us. The 1996 Bafana Bafana did for all of us. I believe in sports that it has the power. Thank you so much to the SPRINGBOKS.

I think by dominating,he means that the springboks/rugby do no represent the demographics of this country. The minority are dominating ,that's what he means. Blacks dominating all sectors whether be spot or any other is not wrong because we are in the majority. The reasons why cricket and rugby are white dominated I believe is because they are more expensive . as someone who played both soccer and cricket growing up,soccer was more convenient for me because back in the days we played bare footed and the only only thing that we could struggle for was a ball and if we had one,we needed nothing else apart from us making 2 teams and play against each other nje. As for cricket,a cheap bat that doesn't last can go for around R400,spikes R400 the cheap ones for that matter, then you must have also have the helmet,so this things are a must for cricket and my mom couldn't afford those. As for soccer cheap boots you can get them for about R250 and we would make our own sheen guards from boxes. As for rugby I can't say much because I never liked it anyway but I've seen that it needs capital just by seeing what they use at practice at LC ,UP sports campus. So I think it will be simple for us to see that resources play a major role in which sport a person can take and become successful.that's why blacks are dominant in soccer and whites in the other 2 popular sports, rugby and cricket. Im not an EFF member though! Have a great discussion!

Dr. Ndlozi sir, there is a time for everything under the sun. There is a season to be merry and a season to be sad. When an opportunity to celebrate comes knocking at one's door, nobody says to it; "go away I am still waiting for all my problems to be resolved first". If Bafana Bafana by some serious stroke of luck or genius, had won the soccer World Cup 2010, we would have all celebrated across board🤞🏾. Take my soccer team Kaizer Chiefs✌🏾 for example, it is made up of supporters from different political, tribal, ethnic and religious backgrounds. Even if there were internal problems within Kaizer Chiefs when we win, we celebrate with immediate effect. At the end of this PSL season when Kaizer Chiefs lifts the cup😉, we the supporters will celebrate. We know that our celebration does not mean that all internal problems, if there be any, are now fixed. *It is the nature of Sports to celebrate wins* , whether problems exist or not. Please cut us some slack sir, this is a great sporting achievement🏆. Let us savour this moment - braai, eat, drink and when the dust settles we can all go back to our drawing boards to resume #Letsfixourcountry.

They said it again in 2007 but what good did it bring winning RWC. Black people work hard but still under paid . Killings and verbal attacks still imagine from various parts of the country. Children isolated at schools. The best parts of our country still dominated by white ppl. Its good that Springbok won. But why can't we win when discussing important matters such as land , proper education even food supply

Rugby is has gatekeepers in terms of money..without rhe sponsorships Black rugby players can't have the necessary diet, training, travel, gear, and mentorship to become better rugby players.. The Americans used to use same excuse of black people not being intersted in thier sports but few corporates white people defied the norm and put money in black athletes today they dominate all the US sporting events... Yes white people are afraid black people may takeover Rugby if let loose to fully participate with all the benefits as equal as anyone.. so yeah this is a fake unity

Not true, actually majority of white people see players of colour as quota players within the Springboks team. " white people think CJ Stander went to Ireland because he was the wrong colour for the modern day Springboks, meaning he was going to be overlooked for a black player. Arm chair white critics are always going to see colour when national interest is at stake within the bok side. Ndlozi is realistically correct in his assessment of the whole false unity notion. If you go on social media platforms amongst whites, you will be surprised how siya kolisi is disregarded and Duane Vermeulen is christened the real Springboks Captain and you want to come here and claim to see no colour but people? OBVIOUSLY racial Unity Isn't going to happen Over night and racial unity isn't perfect In any nation Mr Ndhlozi. But It's a stepping stone globally and It takes a small group of people to make a difference. Its appreciaring and celebrating small Victories of Unity today like these until we can celebrate the bigger victories of tommorow. Don't Be naive and negative, your life Is limited, I doubt you will see that Victory you Speak of, of full racial unity in SA in your life time but here you are given the opportunity to celebrate the small yet Important victories of unity of today while you still breath. Yesturday we had a rugby team that couldn't play in the international games, had only white Players etc. Today we have a team of all Races and a Captain Who is NonWhite who got to lift that Cup etc ,Celebrate were You Can No Matter How insignificant the Victory. Dont let your ego blind you my brother. To me actually I see this rugby would cup as A big victory but a small victory to the bigger victory of our nations greater, racial, economic unity still to be further achieved. GO BOKKE!
